Experienced acoustic guitar teacher of 12 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! My lessons are a custom fit for each individual. There is no ONE way that everyone learns, and that is why I take the time to create lesson plans that are tailored to each student. Obviously, there are basics that every students needs to know, but beyond that, your personal musical goals will be at the forefront of your lessons with me!

I provide most instructional materials (worksheets, individualized lesson notes, etc.). I rarely use method books, but if a method book is desired, it will need to be provided by the student.

I expect my students to provide their own instrument.

I try to have fun and always be encouraging. I know how frustrating it can be in the beginning. I know quite a few different styles and also like to help others write their own songs once they start to get the hang of it. I have worked with people of all age groups but mostly teen and pre-teen. I look forward to helping you have fun learning guitar!!

I played music professionally for many years, both solo and in a variety of bands. I did not enjoy performing. I am a songwriter and my studio is where I feel most comfortable. I teach finger-style acoustic guitar as my default but enjoy other styles as well. Regardless of style, it will always be combined with a strong understanding of music theory and guitar basics. It doesn't matter If you are interested in more advanced topics (i.e. songwriting, recording, etc.) or are a complete beginner. I am happy to work with all levels. Let's get started. You can do this!

I offer Intermediate and Advanced Guitar Lessons for electric, acoustic, and bass guitar. I have over 20 years playing and songwriting experience, including live shows, recordings, and tours; I've been lead guitarist for the metal band Locusta since 2006. I've been teaching guitar for 14 years and have had thousands of hours of teaching experience in that time.

Lessons are available on advanced topics such as music theory, songwriting, lead guitar technique, sweep picking, and classical guitar (i.e. Bach/Spanish guitar), as well as non-guitar specific subjects like home and studio recording, ear training, rhythm, and drum programming (no drum experience necessary). Personalized lessons are offered as well as structured 4 to 8 week courses on specific subjects.
