If you wish to learn guitar as a performer, I am the coach for you. Unlike other coaches, I also offer a Master Class for those who wish to sing & learn an instrument. In this class you will learn more than the fundamentals. Besides, strum/picking techniques, bar chords, chord progressions & the music theory, the master class will cover, microphone technique's used while performing, Eye contact with audience and using other chord inversions that help this process. My regular classes are packed with key focus on the fundamentals. I offer packed sessions with the fun of progress. Parents tell me that I have a wonderful way with there kids and my adult students are thriving. I have a number of budding stars that are learning how to play in a band, how to perform as a soloist, or how to combine singing with learning the guitar. I've been performing for 40+ years in NYC so I share what I know from an entertainers perspective. My emphasis is on teaching a broad range of styles of music. ...

Learn from a pro in a friendly, focused environment. Have toured with grammy award winning musicians including the Brian Setzer Orchestra. Jazz, classical, blues, latin, salsa, funk or get ready for band and auditions. All great musicians have great ears and great time feel (groove). That along with a study of the fundamentals of trumpet technique will get us started. Then we'll add the kind of songs that you like to play, and other great guitar literature. Jared breaks down songs into pieces, and provides a slowed down recording to play along with. I find this the absolute best part about practicing, to play along with Jared's recording. It also means if I haven't played a song for a while I can go back to the recording for the strum/structure.
Without Jared I don't think I would have stuck with the guitar, and after almost 18 months Jared is encouraging me to explore the electric guitar and take the lessons in a new direction.
There are regular performances with all the students, it's no pressure, and I haven't had one go perfectly yet while on the actual stage (in practice they are perfect) but they give students an opportunity to perform in an environment where they can make mistakes and just get out there and try it!
I would strongly recommend Jared as a guitar teacher - the recordings, the encouragement, the performances, he is a very dedicated teacher."

A few months ago, I decided it was time to learn more and sharpen my skills... starting with the basics (including reading guitar music). I decided to check out TakeLessons because I knew I could have the lessons in the comfort of my own home. So, I began researching and found Tim's profile.
If you are looking for a solid foundation in learning the guitar and feeling encouraged to push through (even if you think you can't play that one chord) I'd highly recommend Tim. Tim provides students with a guitar manual that is easy to understand and helps build one skill at a time. Like building a brick wall, the book has you put one brick on top of the other as you go through the book. In time, you will be surprised how much you've learned!
Beginners, Intermediate/Advance players if you're looking for a guitar teacher that will help you sharpen your skills and encourage you along the way... I'd highly recommend him as a guitar teacher!"

Follow these tips from guitar teacher Samuel B. to get the most out of your acoustic guitar... Let's face it. Acoustic guitars can be an outright nuisance to keep in shape. They're delicate, sensitive to both humidity and temperature patterns, and often have weak central support. While the desire to keep yours both easily accessible and on display in a stand or on a rack is …
