Experienced Trumpet teacher of 5 years available for eager students of all experience levels! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of technical ability and excellent musicianship. I specialize in concert band and orchestra styles of music, however I am willing to teach jazz styles. For beginning students I typically use Measures of Success Book #1. For intermediate students I recommend Standard of Excellence book #2 and book #3.

About Vivian

I am a professional Music Educator. I play several instruments including Ukulele, French Horn, Trumpet, Clarinet, and Trombone. I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelors of Music Education. Ukulele students can expect to see improvement week to week in their playing technique. E

The concept is simple: empowerment to generate mastery on your instrument. I like to work with you at your level, from beginner and up. My goal is to not only help you understand the mechanics of the instrument, but to empower you to create as limitlessly as possible on it. I will be working with you on things such as rhythm, ear training (hearing melodies and recreating them, understanding major and minor scales and how to "hear" music), embouchre (lips) development, breath control, musical sight reading, and understanding musical notation and terminology and beyond through a few of my own and others' techniques.

I have found the best approach to doing this is by selecting music that you like to listen to and play, as it is much more fun to practice something that you enjoy rather than doing busywork to build skill.

About Tyler

Hi, I'm Tyler! Born and raised in Roswell, New Mexico, I am the son of a band director. That being said, I have literally been involved in music since I was an infant! I played trombone, bass trombone, and bass guitar all the way through high school, and went to New Mexico State University where I

Tyler arrived early, spent lots of time with my unruly daughter, and kept her on track! He's a good combination of fun/playful but also has a natural authority so that my daughter actually listens to his instruction. Well done and thank you Tyler!

Great first lesson - looking forward to the next one.

I feel like I learned a lot in an hour and he really helped me find an anchor point that I can go back to if I am stuck on a note. I realized that he went over every proven method that I learned throughout my experiences from elementary school to highschool and then added on to them by explaining how these methods help. He even showed me methods usually taught to college musicians.

The reason I always believed in private lessons is because no matter how few or how many you take, the learning process gets expedited immensely.

I definitely would recommend this teacher for learning a brass instrument.

Very knowledgable and enthusiastic teacher. He has a way about him that makes the lesson exciting.

Mr Yakov is very pleasant, patient and professional. He makes learning fun. One of my daughters is very shy and particular. I was concerned for her first violin. But she ended up loving the lesson and the instructor. We did some lessons online and at his studio. During the online lesson, the connection with our internet was horrible. He could hear her playing but she couldn't hear him. Yet, patiently, he got creative and taught the lesson with my daughter through chat. The environment of the studio is comfortable. You can tell he's passionate about what he does. That left me with a great impression of him. We look forward to more lessons with him for as long as we can.
Thanks Mr Yakov!!!

I have played the trumpet for 10 years and I'm close to graduating with a BA in Music. I have performed many recitals, played at different churches, performed the taps, performed on a student tour in different countries in Europe, along with other gigs. I have always focused on classical music, from performing in a church orchestra to performing the Hummel Concerto. I have some experience teaching many students. I have taught at a clinic for high school students auditioning for GMEA All-State. As your teacher, I will focus on the basic fundamental skills of trumpet performance and working to help you develop the skills needed to improve your musicianship. I will focus on working from a range of trumpet literature, from technique books like Clarke to some etudes from the Arbans and even some solo recital pieces. I will also focus on basic music theory, sight reading, and ear training skills. If you are a high school or middle school student looking to get serious and take it to the ...

Hello! My name is Nathan Kay. I'm a young professional trumpet player in Boston and specialize in Jazz and Classical Trumpet. I received my Bachelor's Degree from the Eastman School of Music in 2019, and have been fortunate to teach at music camps and privately as well over the past three years. My teaching is guided by two very important principles:
1: Teaching music is not only teaching music itself, but also teaching an appreciation for it as well. Music should be fun!
2: Every student is different, and everyone learns in a different way. Education should be personalized, and I will help each student achieve their personal individual goals!

About Nathan

I'm a professional trumpet player and composer originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, but have now recently moved to Boston for a year. My passion is writing/playing music, and I have been fortunate to share music with audiences across the United States. Growing up in a musical family, I was constan
