Learn the basics of guitar at your own pace while learning some of your favorite songs.

About Natalie
Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, at the age of 9, Natalie knew music was something that was just a part of who she was. Writing songs on the piano before lessons could be scheduled, Natalie found herself immersed in a medium that would bring her joy for the rest of her life.

By age 14 Natalie had won several trophies competing in Classical piano with the Illinois Music Association.

As an adult, she would go on to fill her life with the world of music as a singer, songwriter, performer and recording artist.

Graduating from Elmhurst College (1997) with a Bachelor's in Music, Natalie received high accolades earning a membership in the Lambda Sigma Psi Music Honor Society.

During her college years, Natalie created and owned a local music publication called, "The Local Buzz". At this moment she had discovered her
desire to teach. "I just wanted everyone I knew in music to know and use what I was learning, or had learned from the music classes, professionals I had been meeting and working with, and my overall music life experiences". By 1997, Natalie was signed to an independent label and embarked on a new adventure.

"Music is an adventure, but without the foundation and passion I had as a child, I would have never landed where I did. I truly LOVE to teach and share what I know about piano, and the world of music. Music is what I know, and know best. Helping to create a solid foundation and build confidence in someone embarking on a journey in music is the most rewarding profession I have ever had the honor of participating in."

*** Lesson Details ***
Natalie enjoys teaching students of any age, but specializes in piano, voice and beginning guitar, tailoring lessons to each individual's goals and reasons for learning whether it be for personal pleasure or professional performance.

Keeping things lighthearted and fun, Natalie breathes confidence into each student using her sense of humor, and down-to-earth personality.

Feeding off 40 years of personal and professional experiences, Natalie patiently listens to the student's desires, needs and notates their learning patterns, allowing for growth at their own pace.

Natalie's goal is to Make Music Matter to you and create a foundation that will allow you to continue to find joy in making music for the rest of your life.

I have been playing guitar for 15 years. I make lesson plans based on each individual, so I don't teach every one the same boring songs or use the same regiment with everyone. I want to teach you what YOU want to learn.

About Jeremie
I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for nearly 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. I currently perform with one of my students from TakeLessons named Mackenzie O'Brien.

I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2014 with a BA in Music Composition. I studied under composers: Drew Baker, Kenn Kumpf, Ilya Levinson, and Marcos Balter. I've performed and worked with members from the groups, Del Niente and Chicago's Composer's Collective.

I build my lesson plans around each of my students based on their interests. I'll try to incorporate music they enjoy into their music regime. I keep lessons pretty relaxed, but will challenge a student who is looking for something m
ore difficult. I go at the pace you learn best at!

Bass guitar, ukulele, song-writing, counterpoint, orchestrating, arranging, music theory, and composing are subjects I'm well versed in and love to teach to other people.

I'm experienced with all kinds of music software, such as: Pro Tools, Logic, Garage Band, Cubase, FL Studio, Finale, Sibelius. If you want to learn how to write, record, mix, and master your own music, there's never been a better time to learn.

I'm an "older" adult who wants to learn to play the ukulele. I have very little experience in reading or playing music. Jeremie was super in starting from my point of comfort. I'm very pleased with my 1st lesson and looking forward to more lessons.

For a first lesson, I was impressed and very excited to begin playing the guitar. The lesson started with Jeremie understanding what I already knew and then going forward from there instead of going over things that I already knew. So the time was well spent on actually learning something new. Looking forward to our next lesson.

Open and individualized lessons will teach each student in a unique fashion to fit them best. Chords, theory and musical reading will be the main focus of these lessons. My individualized approach works well for many students so that they learn what they want, how they want, and see the results that they specifically are looking for

Students can expect to learn anything from basic chords to advanced theory and improvisational techniques on their instrument.

As an original artist, acoustic guitar has been one of the most important iterations of the instrument in my life. I feel that my mastery over acoustic guitar is on par with my mastery on electric guitar and acoustic guitar is my preferred instrument to teach. As a professional gigging blues/rock/indy musician I have toured while playing all forms of acoustic genres and venues, from jazz to country.

About Chris
I have recently graduated college with my music degree and am looking to teach for a living so I decided to start close to home. I can teach guitar and bass (4 string 5 string and fretless) and college level music theory, composition and songwriting. I am also confident teaching left handed students and am great with younger students. If you have any questions, feel free to call, text, or email

Chris was patient and informative. I'm an actual beginner with literally just picking up guitar for the first time. He focused on the basics and asked what style I liked to be taught. I'm looking forward to working with him more

I have been playing the acoustic guitar for 11 years. As a recent graduate from Southeastern Louisiana University, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele lessons as well as classes since the spring of this year (2017). I hold a bachelor's degree in music performance with my primary instrument being the guitar.
I can help you to acquire a solid foundation of music theory knowledge. You can help to better understand music theory concepts if they are paired with guitar techniques to supplement them.
If you are a complete beginner, do not be afraid! I will help you to learn at a pace which is comfortable but still effective for you. These lessons will be focused and designed to fit YOUR needs. Let's learn together :)

About Brandi
Are you a complete beginner? No worries, we can start here!

For those who know some guitar - Having trouble making it through a tough passage in classical guitar music? Want to get better at sight reading? How about improving your rhythm comprehension and strumming skills?

Hello, I am Brandi Brumfield! I graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University this past spring (2017) with a degree in music performance and I'm trying to grow my client base. The area that I live in doesn't have such a high demand for lessons such as what I have to offer, I have been teaching guitar and ukulele classes to ages 7 and up. This is pretty restrictive considering what I CAN teach, so I am trying to reach whoever I can to share my knowledge with! I can help you to learn any style of guitar even though my primary genre of skill is classical or acous
tic guitar.

Your lessons will be designed around YOUR desire to learn, so if you're ready go ahead and sign up! :)

Guitar is the first instrument I learned to play starting from when I was 12 years old. I have taught many students how to play guitar from the ground up!

My teaching method starts with what you want to learn to play. That's what it is all about, right? Learning the songs you want to play becomes a vehicle for knowing more about guitar.

For beginning guitar, it is best if we can meet in person so I can see your hand position and posture in detail.

About Shawn
Shawn has been teaching private lessons since 2014 and is currently available to teach lessons at your home, his home studio and online. Shawn has helped students go from no musical knowledge to giving public performances.

Shawn received his training at the UC, Irvine where he received his Bachelor of Music and Cal State, Fullerton where he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Music.

Shawn teaches and performs on guitar, and electric and upright bass. He is proficient in genres including pop, rock, jazz and classical.

As an expert in his field, Shawn looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals. Shawn’s teaching style focuses on engaging the student and making learning fun. My daughter became interested in playing the bass guitar after seeing a friend perform in the Jazz Band concert at her school. After asking around, Shawn came highly recommended. He was nice, knowledgeable, dedicated to teaching and I was impressed with how kept my daughter engaged and motivated. He is someone I recommend highly.

Guitar lessons with me are designed to help students achieve their musical goals. I place high importance on building student self confidence, through improvisation, composition, and technique building exercises. I also place high importance on the use of technology in lessons (beat making, recording techniques, amplifier/effect pedal usage, etc.)

About Anthony
Anthony is a composer, guitarist, and technologist based in Southern California. Through his compositions, Anthony explores questions relating to gesture, modularity, and metaphorical representation. Over his career as a composer, Anthony has developed a voice that focuses on both intricate systems and improvisatory practices. Combining the sound worlds of both acoustic and electronic instruments in his compositions, Anthony invents ideas to resonate with audiences of all types. His pieces have been performed internationally, with premieres in the United States, Italy, The Netherlands, and Spain. Anthony’s most recent project is a solo electronic rock show, that used interactive technologies, for real-time beats and effects – Songs For A New Era

Anthony has a great passion for working with students and helping them to succeed in achiev
ing their own musical goals. As a teacher, Anthony’s primary motivation is to foster creativity, confidence, and independence in his students.
