I was impressed with my daughter's first lesson! Justin was very personable with her and helped her get over her nervousness. He was also very knowledgeable and evaluated her range and which way would be best to teach her. My daughter loved it, and is looking forward to learning more!

In Los Angeles, Fawn is the music and entertainment industry's coach known as the one who "gets the job done." Clients have included Grammy and Oscar winners as well as vocalists and actors from The Voice, American Idol, Disney, America's Got Talent, Nickelodeon, X-Factor an
d many others. She has been producing music and vocals in the recording studio, coaching voice, piano, songwriting, rap writing, performance, studio, jazz, blues, classical, pop and artist development for the past 20 years. She was operatically trained by Juilliard instructor Sylvia Bagley, trained as a jazz singer at world re-known Berklee College of Music, where she won several songwriting awards, and was R & B/Pop trained by Vocal Coach To The Stars, Seth Riggs. In 2010 she had a #6 Billboard hit dance song, which she wrote and sang and 2 top 10 hits in 2016. She has written, recorded and performed songs in several different languages for a variety of films, television shows, and commercials such as Nickelodeon's Hollywood Heights, The Natalee Holloway Story, Spike Lee Productions, Barbie, Ponds, Target, Ford, Mazda, Pontiac, The Guiding Light, The Young and The Restless. MTV and several others. Fawn has also sung, written and played in many different styles from Jazz/Blues to Classical to Pop to children's to Opera.

Fawn is a very fun, yet honest and straight-forward coach. She loves working with adults and children, and considers lessons a 'team effort to reach her students' goals. Being that music and the entertainment business are her career and life, she is current and relevant, yet has plenty of old school training to be well rounded and help students build a strong foundation. Music and the entertainment business are her life, and she loves helping people reach their goals and meet their dreams. She has released 5 albums, several singles, won numerous awards and worked with such talents as Grammy winners Lalah Hathaway and Paula Cole, Meredith Brooks, Vampire Diaries Kat Grahm, BT, Jeff Goldblum, Right Said Fred, Ed Townsend, QD3, Club Nuveau's Val Watson, Robbie Benson and shared the stage with Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Carol Channing, Kevin Sorbo, Pink, Joss Stone, David Guetta, Katy Perry, Moby, Dionne Warwick, James Torme', David Foster, Thelma Houston, David Pomeranz, War and countless others. Over the years, Fawn has been known to bring students into her inner circle, so they can gain more experience and exposure, taking them to red carpets, events and even putting them up onstage to perform. She remembers having piano, voice and songwriting coaches, and being frustrated in voice because instructors were not addressing issues that needed to be addressed. This is why she creates a positive and comfortable, safe environment so students can open up and progress quickly. Fawn moves straight to the heart of the matter and gets whatever needs work figured out, so students can move on to what their goals and dreams are. She has helped actors be able to sing parts for their TV shows, helped popular bands be able to have good stage performances and presence with precision dancing and singing and has helped vocalists find their true voice. She is able to get piano students as young as 5 to a high-level Concerto level of playing with in 3 years, completely reading the pieces on their own. The youngest person she has ever taught was 3 years old and blind. The oldest person she has ever taught so far taught was 89 years old, after suffering a stroke. She was able to help her get her voice back within 20 minutes of her first lesson. Fawn also does vocal rehabilitation, vocal therapy, and music therapy. She has worked with special needs children with Downs Syndrome, ADHD, ADD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Pit Hopkins Disease and more. As far as being a songwriter, Fawn generally writes words and music at the same time but she has also written lyrics and music separately, as well as composed instrumental pieces. To be able to sing with clarity and comfort you have to understand the workings and mechanisms involved in singing. Fawn is a master at these and so much more! She is able to teach in a clear, effective easy-going and fun way. I've been learning a lot from Fawn and her advice guides me every time I sing. I am loving the quick improvements too!

Voice & flute students age 10 and up
Piano students age 4 and up

(I've taught age 3 and up before, however the ages I've listed above for lessons is what I have found to be most effective. Group classes may be a good alternative for very young students seeking voice or band instruments.)

Hello, fellow music lovers! My name is Nicole and I would be honored to have the opportunity to help you take your music skills, whether beginning to advanced, to the next level! I am a singer with 25+ years of experience with solos, small ensemble groups, and large choirs. My singing styles range from opera, musical theatre, jazz, gospel, and christian contemporary, just to name a few. : )  I am also an experienced flutist with 5 + years of study and an intermediate-level pianist with about 5 years of study in the classical technique, and playin
g chords to follow most any style. I also enjoy teaching some music theory (the rules of music) in written, sight singing, and piano chords, if requested. Music theory along with voice and instrument lessons can provide a further understanding of each musical concept.

My training first began in elementary school, in Virginia Beach, VA, when I took my first group voice lessons and concert band classes as a beginning flutist. I continued my study with a large home school band in the 7th grade. I was then chosen to play the flute in an All City Band in Virginia Beach, for excellence in my performance skills. From there I continued my study at a private school in Virginia Beach with many chorus, band, and youth band classes to further my music reading and improvisational performance skills. At age eighteen I moved to Tampa, FL and became a Liberal Arts major with a concentration in Music at Hillsborough Community College (HCC). I graduated from HCC with an AA in Liberal Arts/Music. I was then accepted to further my music study at the University of South Florida (USF). I studied voice and a sampling of other instruments in the Music Education program. I graduated with two and one-half years of music education training and another four years of voice training with a BA in Music Studies. Also, during my college years I participated in the elite USF Chamber Singers, the University Singers, the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay, and many studio recitals.

In 2013 I completed my fourth year of music teaching in a small private school in Tampa, FL. I have sang with Opera Tampa since their 2012-2013 season in the professional opera chorus for productions such as Carmen, The Magic Flute, and Madame Butterfly. I have continued to add new performance jobs with The Princeton Festival in Princeton, NJ (2014), St. Petersburg Opera in St Pete, FL , and the Tampa Spiritual Ensemble performing in the surrounding Tampa Bay areas. In addition, I continue my studies part time at the Patel Conservatory in downtown Tampa.

I look forward to working with you to make all your music dreams come true! So, let's make beautiful music together very soon!

*** Lesson Details ***
When taking lessons with me you can expect to learn in a very positive, encouraging, and laid back environment! I believe that learning is fun, very rewarding, and never stops. I plan to continue learning more about my craft for the rest of my life and I would encourage my students of all ages to adopt this mentality also.

For voice lessons I like to begin with warm-ups and breathing exercises that can be modified to any style of songs. Then to song selections that will be enjoyable, yet helpful in making your voice better. For opera style I primarily use the G. Schirmer Opera Anthology books, and Hal Leonard published anthology series' for different art songs. For all other vocal styles I enjoy using various published individual-song sheet music or CDs and accompaniment tracks. Along the way giving all applicable tips for producing better sound, projection, breathing, phrasing, and musicality.

For flute lessons I would begin with scales or simple exercises. Then to specific pieces that you would want to work on or techniques from the Accent on Achievement or Standards of Excellence book series'.

For piano lessons I would begin with finger stretches, scale warm-ups and/or easy chords or pieces to get the fingers ready to practice. Then I would progress to your chosen pieces or a book from the Alfred or Bastien Piano Book series', which includes books for all levels and styles.

*** Travel Equipment ***
I can provide CDs and/or lesson books, if needed.

I have taught and coached voice for several years and am available for students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so that students gain experience in the genre of their choice, while also building a strong foundation rooted in classical technique. I use this technique as a basis for development over any genre of music. I am also available to teach fundamentals that are often required for vocal success, such as, beginner piano, music theory, and ear training.

I am a firm believer in asking questions, for myself and my students, so that we can come to a better understanding of what techniques work best for you in each lesson and track your progress from week to week.

About Leslie
My name is Leslie, and I recently graduated from James Madison University with a degree in music education. I've been involved with teaching in various capacities from about age 8 until now, but have been teaching voice and piano lessons anywhere from Pre-K to lifelong learning groups for the past several years now.

I grew up learning classical methods for voice and have been able to translate those healthy techniques to other styles of music. I have most recently performed in operas through JMU and other professional groups, have been involved in their musicals as well as in semi-professional productions, and have enjoyed my time singing in jazz combos. Participating in both performance and education has always been important in my life, and I hope to continue this trend. Not only do I find both settings incredibly enjoyable, but I a
m a firm believer that teachers should be able to practice what they preach as far as skill acquisition and work ethic!

While voice is my primary instrument, I also offer piano for beginning and intermediate students as well as ear training lessons. While we have fun in our lessons and with music, a certain amount of discipline and practice time is necessary for improvement. You'll find that I'm very organized in my approach for all subjects, as I take the time that you are paying for seriously. I work hard to offer comprehensive lessons that will help you with whatever genre you're learning or skills you're working to hone.

If you have any questions at all- about lessons, your teacher search, or scheduling, feel free to send me a note, and I'll be happy to get back to you as quickly as possible!

I highly recommend Sarabeth to anyone interested in singing, whether you have already had some background in voice or you are just starting out.

Sarabeth is a truly amazing voice teacher!!! She led me step by step through many vocal exercises and taught me many a great classical song! Her patience and encouragement were ever present at each lesson as I stumbled through the classical songs which were written in other languages.

I have SMA type 1-2, a severely debilitating and progressive disease, and my lung capacity was 24% of normal when Sarabeth started teaching me. Under her guidance, I was able to increase my lung capacity to 28%! Believe me when I say that this is not supposed to happen to people with SMA. In general our lung capacities continue to decrease as the disease progresses until we need to be placed under mechanical ventilation. The most common mode of death for people with SMA is respiratory failure.

I am deeply saddened that Sarabeth is moving away to Los Angeles and will no longer be able to be my singing teacher, but wishing her the best of luck there!!! I will always remember her as the incredibly wonderful teacher she is!
