As a teacher, I have worked with the whole gamut of students. I have served as the undergraduate cello instructor at Stony Brook University, worked with many young beginners, adult amateurs, as well as anyone in between. I enjoy the challenge of finding the best path for each student, carefully considering their strengths, weaknesses, and particular interests to design a curriculum that best serves their goals and predilections. I recently moved to Oakland, California, and am currently expanding my cello and gamba studio.

I've been teaching cello for 10 years and my students have gone on to participate in All-State orchestra, and play in professional orchestras. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to produce sound and play simple songs and as time goes on you'll be able to read music fluently and perform with ease. I specialize in Classical, and typically use Suzuki and Klengal scale books. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I have been teaching beginning cello for over twenty years. I teach both traditional western methods and Suzuki style. I have a Doctorate in Music. I am very experienced teaching all ages. My promise to students--if they follow my advice, they will be successful! Cello lessons with me are informative, productive, and geared toward empowering the student's knowledge of the cello. I also encourage students when faced with a problem to slow down, think about what they are doing physically and change their approach if needed.
