I take great care in each student I have. Making sure they have the best audition material! Broadway is very detailed. Not only do you sing, but dance and act as well! I include all of this in our lessons, but the primary focus is singing and truly using material that is appropriate for you and your performance. This is the most crucial aspect of any performer, choosing the correct material! And having a plethora to choose from. I keep our lessons fresh and exciting. We focus on learning new material quite often.

I studied Jazz at UNT, and taught at Collin College as part time faculty. I am a studio singer, regularly recording "Radio ID's" as well as jingles and choral arrangements. I perform as a part of several bands including the Royal Dukes. I can help you get a grip on what it means to sing professionally.
We'll work on the music you want to learn how to sing, starting from the basics of breathing and tone production moving to range expansion and style refinement.

I have been teaching this subject for over 13 years. There is no specific curriculum as each student will come to lessons with their own unique skills, needs, and goals. Lessons are tailored to those specifics. It is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson for beginners. However, learning to read is required for subsequent lessons and will be a large focus for all non-readers. Music is not learned "by ear." A certain amount of theory will be a part of every lesson just as technique and repertoire. Concerning repertoire, it will be selected primarily from the Broadway and West End rep based on the student's learning needs and with their input. The main emphasis on performance lessons, however, will be technique (enunciation, breathing, pitch/intonation, etc.) and reading. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.

Whether singing is your chosen career or just a treasured hobby, my goal is to help you succeed! I offer voice lessons to students of all backgrounds, ages and a variety of styles. I take a healthy, classical vocal approach to encourage freedom, ease and power in the voice. A student of Bel Canto, Alexander Technique and Yoga, I incorporate a full body approach to singing. My students range from amateurs to Broadway talent. I have prepared students to perform on stage, book agents, and to be featured in television and film. My younger students have gone on to programs such as the Professional Performing Arts School, the Interlochen Arts Academy and various conservatory and college programs. My professional students have performed at such venues as New York City Opera, Radio City, in Film and Television and on National Tours.
