Alix is truly a phenomenal teacher! She is compassionate, nurturing, and seeks to improve her student's vocal abilities. All of our lessons have been thorough, educational, and certainly insightful. I have become such a better singer in only a few short lessons, and look forward to becoming a master in the next few!

Alex is an exceptional teacher. My 13 year-old wished for voice lessons for such a long time, and I'm so pleased Alix is working with her. She is helping my daughter improve her technique (breathing, posture, range, etc.), while keeping lessons positive and encouraging, and finding music that my daughter enjoys. When Alix demonstrates what she is describing- WOW, what a voice! My daughter looks forward to every lesson, and if it's possible, loves to sing even more since she has been learning with Alix.

This is the focus of my vocal studio, and I began teaching in this style when I opened my voice studio in 2005. Curriculum will vary depending on your experience level with the subject and voice type. Technique is instructed from a variety of backgrounds, with basis in physiology of healthy voice production due to my combined background in classical vocal performance and voice therapy.

About Kristen

I want to dispel the myth that only a select few are "gifted" with beautiful voices. Singing is like a sport; it is a skill requiring refined muscular coordination, which anyone can improve with practice and focused instruction. My teaching experience encompasses students of all ages and abili

I love Kristen!
She's so good at explaining the most confusing things about singing technique (which for a beginner is a lot). She's very patient and it's heartwarming when she gets excited about the times I do something right. I trust Kristen with my voice and I like how she encourages me to do hard but fun repertoire. Would definitely recommend!

P.S. Her voice is absolutely beautiful. You know you have a good teacher when she demonstrates something and you think, "I want to sound like that."

I teach a very detailed technique that will help you enrich your voice and achieve a wide vocal range using chest, head and falsetto registers with smooth transitions between registers, with accurate pitch, sustainable tone production, a clear frontal resonance mixed balanced by a rich throat resonance, coordination between breathing phonation, and resonance, clean articulation in English, German, French and German.

I am unique because of my combined musical and medical backgrounds. In addition to my graduate and undergraduate musical training and extensive musical experience, I was a surgeon and taught anatomy and physiology. Part of my medical training included studying the mechanics of how the body works and its application. In addition to the traditional methods such as imagery and mimicry that all singing teachers use, I will help you understand your body - precisely how to produce and resonate your tone, and how your breathing really works in conjunction with tone ...

Alyssa is an upbeat, encouraging, and patient teacher. Her own singing voice is beautiful, and she sings very professionally in a wide range of genres. She is reliable, pleasant, sincere, and capable. She gives each student her full attention and tailors her lessons to each one's particular talent (as well as where they're in need of improvement). We jumped right in and I left my first lesson feeling encouraged and with a better understanding of my range and what I am capable of. "I can't imagine where I'd be if I had not crossed paths with Fawn. She is one talented woman. I am a coloratura soprano with a degree in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory of Music; when I met Fawn I was struggling to simply keep my head above water as I attempted to readjust to life in the city after spending several years recovering from a traumatic vocal chord injury. I had tried everything traditional Western medicine had to offer as well as several alternative healing methods but nothing was working to get me back on track towards the performing career that I wanted. Many practitioners that I had met with previously had at most a shallow understanding of the unique and very complicated physical and emotional demands of a professional operatic career and I was dispirited, hopeless and seriously considering giving up the thought of ever performing at all much less professionally again.
Since I began studying with her last summer, she has helped me find a physical and mental equilibrium that I previously thought was unattainable. In addition, I have gained an invaluable and specific practical understanding of my personal challenges and strengths as a direct result of the unique and deeply insightful ways in which she handles any problem I bring to her. In a few short months my life and outlook has changed tremendously. I had the courage to audition for and consequently booked my first professional gig since my injury, began the process of planning a production of an original composition and have been encouraged by my teacher to seriously consider singing for both national and international auditions next year. If there is a "Vocal Whisperer" Fawn is it.
To be truly understood as a performing artist (and one dealing with a vocal injury while attempting a career, is a rare and amazing experience. Not only is she amazingly well versed in several nutritional, spiritual and physical disciplines but her unique ability to adjust them into a specialized program for your specific situation and personality type make the service she offers invaluable and like nothing else I've ever experienced. Not only is she deeply empathic, compassionate, giving and sympathetic but she is also refreshingly disciplined in her ability to organize you and get to the heart of the matter. She tailors your lessons in a way that makes them easily accessible and memorable. She has the rare ability to inspire you. She never makes you feel judged, she never 'shames' you into compliance (like my other coaches did), but instead Fawn encourages and wins you over with a warm and comforting sense of humor and grace.
I am deeply grateful to have had and continue to have the opportunity to work with such an original, remarkable and talented individual. I can't recommend her highly enough and personally consider my lessons an essential part of a professional vocal career for anyone who wants to sing correctly and safely (and) stay safe, healthy, happy and sane."

8 Beautiful Opera Arias for Beginner Singers

It is always exciting when a vocal student is ready to start studying his or her first operatic aria! One of the best things about being a classical singer is knowing you have so many great years ahead of you. After all, you’re considered in your prime in your 40s. That being said, realize that the voice you have now and the repertoire you’ll first study will be very, very different from what you sing later on in your career. It’s absolutely crucial that you sing repertoire that is …
