About David
I have been a working musician and occasional private music teacher for over 40 years. During that time I had a career in the professional audio and video industry, during which I learned how to successfully deal with people. I recently returned to school and completed a Bachelor of Music in Music Education degree at CSU Sacramento. My goal is to bring excitement and enthusiasm for music and playing an instrument to my students, and to create musicians who will make and enjoy music throughout their lives. I play guitar, bass guitar and flute, and enjoy teaching all of them to all age groups.

*** Lesson Details ***
Playing music is supposed to be fun. Lessons include playing, so they should be fun as well. My lessons are both focused and fun. I believe you get out of music what you put in. If a student doesn't practice in between lesso
ns, I will know. If a student does practice, I will know that as well. My lessons stress not only what to practice, but how. In 3-6 months, the beginning student can expect to be able to make a pleasing sound on the instrument, and be able to play beginning repertoire. Most importantly, the student will be able to play well enough to enjoy the instrument, which inevitably leads to more productive practice and continued improvement. This continued improvement is what lessons are all about.

*** Travel Equipment ***
If I travel to a student's home, I will bring my instrument only. I expect the student to provide all other equipment necessary for the lesson.

*** Specialties ***
Folk guitar, rock and roll and blues bass, classical flute, analog and digital recording, music theory

Curtis is a fantastic teacher! He is patient, enthusiastic, and encouraging. He teaches the type of songs you want to learn and not some song from a guitar guidebook. My first lesson was two hours and it quickly went by. I learned a lot, had a lot of fun and am looking forward to my next lesson. If you are in search of a guitar instructor, I would highly recommend him.

I have been teaching the guitar 8 years. I'm building a strong foundation of techniques.I specialize in Blues, classical &typically use MelBay books and also have the following to use the Sheet music.
In addition,I emphasize how to read a good sight reading.

About Esther
I'm Esther, a very enthusiastic musician. I started out teaching myself piano and singing in a choir at the age of 9. I moved to the U.S. in 1992 and studied music for 10 years receiving my B.M. & M.M in music at California State University of Sacramento. I studied and trained with Claudia Kitka & Jackie Victorino for voice and Kirsten Smith, Joan McDe, & Angel Mamn for piano. I have performed many solo concerts in the U.S. as well as South Korea.

I find a student's strengths and weaknesses using various ways to encourage each student. I am very patient, kind, flexible, and enthusiastic and I love working with children as much as adults. I strongly support basic skills: sight-reading, pitch and tone.

I have 30 years experience teaching kids and adults private piano and 6 yrs voice coaching (early period to contemporary). I spe
ak fluent Korean and English.

*** Lesson Details ***
My objectives: to help students powerfully communicate through the essence of music and aid the development of children and adults by finding their strengths and weaknesses and to develop their skills and show their musical talents. I emphasize basic skills, good sight-reading, and Solfege skills (Do-Re-Me...etc), vocal technique, vocal performance, and Alexandria technique. Students participate in their own recital and show their musical talents.

Lessons are held at either your home, or mine using composers from various time periods that speaks to the individual student.
Also,I do prefer to work a weekly student.
A beginner lesson may be 10-15 min. for warm-ups and scales, 10-15 min. theory and 10 min. playtime. In three to six months the student will be able to read sheet music and should be able to perform simple songs.

An intermediate lesson is longer, 45-50 min., with more focus on music from a specific chosen time-period. A specialty is preparation for voice and piano auditions for entering college.

I enjoy teaching children from age 5 up to adults. I also can teach beginner guitar.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Piano, electronic keyboard, guitar.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Guitar

*** Specialties ***
I teach the basic skills very strongly, and also encourage students and, challenge them, as well.
I also have new techniques for teaching voice and piano.
I do prefer to teach a weekly lesson.

Riffs, reading music, tabs, songs, chords, performance opportunities... it's all here. From country, pop, blues, classical, jazz... everything from the ground up. Acoustic styles. Electric. It's all here!

About Loren
Loren is a well-known music instructor and has been teaching private music lessons in the Elk Grove area since 2002. He has been teaching for years and years, has two music degrees and is an active performer in many styles, enjoying a steady gigging schedule in the Sacramento area. He's "the real deal."

*** Lesson Details ***
The lessons are of the highest quality available as the student learns to read music, is guided in music theory with ear training, technique, and performance, however performance remains optional. There are options.

We often begin with songs that the student already likes. Sometimes that's the ticket. From Bach to the Beatles, Taylor Swift to Bob Dylan, there are always great entrance points.

Theory, (chords, intervals, scales, cadences, etc.) Reading music, (tabs, traditional music notation, charts), Te
chnique, (right and left hand patterns), it's all covered. It's fun and legitimate education.

*** Specialties ***
Lessons in piano or guitar cover all popular music styles including country, rock, and classical.

What's up everyone?! My name is Taylor and I've been playing guitar for a total of about 5 years. I actively play on two church worship teams a variety of different instruments but guitar is my main instrument of choice if I could choose. Within the first lesson I will be teaching the basic chords and chord structure and also get to know who I'm teaching and tell a little but about myself. My lessons will be fun and very interactive so be ready to learn and laugh!

About Taylor
Hey guys! My name is Taylor and I have played guitar for about 6 years now. I started playing guitar on my church worship team and I have been playing ever since, along with a few other instruments. Learning worship music pushed me to want to learn more and more styles and types of music that I would never have learned. I currently play for four different churches in Folsom and surrounding cities and would love to start giving people lessons for guitar. My teaching style is a lot different from every other teacher currently teaching lessons and I'm so sure you will like it, I guarantee you will learn a song within the first lesson. Learning guitar should be about having fun and expressing the creative side of you. Feel free to message me with any questions you may have!

My students not only learn to play the guitar, but learn "why they are doing what they are doing!" I teach all ages and I am very patient. We can work as fast or as slow as you like. I believe lessons should be informative and fun at the same time. I teach each students the basics of note reading, chord theory and scales as these subjects relate to the guitar. I use varoius method books like Hal Leonard, The FJH Music, as well as method books for children.

About Lin
Hi!........my name is Lin Belliveau. I have been teaching guitar, Ukulele, bass guitar and music theory for over 30 years. I am currently accepting students at my home studio and online. I have been studying music since an early age and I continue as I believe my music education should be on going. I recieved a degree in Music from Manchester Community College in 1984. Since then I have taught for various schools, churches and clubs. .
Over the years I have developed my own teaching methods and I'm currently writing my own Guitar teaching method book as well as developing a website to go with it. I believe in teaching all styles of music. Students should learn the basics of note reading, chord theory and scales, so that when they leave my studio they can work, learn and grow on thier own
I believe that the student and teacher should wo
rk as a team, with one goal in mind and that is to make the student the best they can be. Each lesson will be tailor made to the student.

My students can always expect their first lesson to start with an assessment of their abilities. After I determine my student's level, we establish a goal and I create a personalized lesson plan for each student. Each week I go over what we had previously learned then start on something new. I send my students home with a detailed practice log & short videos to make sure they are practicing the correct way. At the end of the month I give my students an assessment on theory & performance.

About Maurissa
Maurissa (AKA Missy) has been playing professionally since she was 16 years old. She started with the violin when she was in the fifth grade and expanded her musical knowledge to other instruments such as bass, guitar, piano, ukulele, and drums once she got into high school.

In her freshman year of high school she joined her first band, Darkhorse, playing bass with them in American Legions, Moose lodges, VFW Halls, and many other venues.

Once she gained the necessary experience playing live, she was hired by countless bands and began doing session work on the violin and bass.

Teaching being her passion, she began giving music lessons to her classmates when she was still in middle school. It didn't take long before she was teaching the children of family friends and fellow church goers. And now, with many years of teaching exper
ience, she is playing and teaching music full time.

I was part of a Beginner Guitar group lesson with Todd. In that class, he managed to give us all personal attention. Since then, I've had a weekly lesson for years and he's always had me progressing at my own rate. I like how we spend our time with a quick review of whatever it is I've been learning before we move on to something new. It's amazing how much we pack into a lesson. Todd is always very flexible with whatever I want to learn so we can take detours into favorite songs or artists (and we even added a bit of harmonica at my request). Even if I pick a difficult piece he can adapt it to my skill level (and then add the complexity as I progress). And through it all, he has shown endless good humor and patience.
