Over 6 years of teaching experience, and a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance! I have taught all ages and experience levels and specialize in teaching young children how to sing in a vocally healthy way. I customize lesson plans to achieve your goals and have a 5-step training system which includes work on breath support, ear-training, healthy vocal technique, and repertoire of either your choice or my recommendation.

I am classically trained and have performed under the baton of world renowned conductor Lorin Maazel, and have attended the prestigious Aspen Opera Theatre as a Fellowship Opera Coach. However, this does not mean I only teach opera! In fact, most of my students are too young for opera or are more interested in musical theatre. I bring my knowledge of vocal health and healthy ways of singing, such as mixed voice, placement, and release of bad tension in addition to good breath support to ALL genres. No matter what genre you like to sing, healthy singing will ...

While at the Kansas City School of Music, my girls, ages 7 and 10, received piano and vocal lessons from Miss Sophia. Sophia is a wonderfully talented musician and pianist with very effective teaching methods. She is very patient with her students and always provides a positive nurturing learning environment. She was able to tailor each lesson to fit each of my girls needs, which I appreciate. I highly recommend Sophia to anyone looking to receive top notch instruction.

Mrs. Zey is incredibly knowledgeable in voice and piano as well as in teaching them. She's familiar with a wide variety of vocal styles and techniques and will find one that works for you, as well as be kind and patient while teaching it. Five stars; a round of applause; and a standing ovation. She knows what she's talking about and is the best at what she does.

I've been teaching Broadway Singing for over four years. I specialize in CCM, or Contemporary Commercial Music, taking techniques from this school of thought to furnish my method of blending classical techniques with rock 'n roll and broadway vocal production. Marrying concepts and techniques from both allows my students to understand how to apply breathing, opening, and open-tone projection on the stage and discover their true Broadway voice.

We got SUPER fortunate to come across Milton as a piano teacher for our son who is diagnosed with Moderate/Severe Autism. If you are considering a special needs piano teacher, you too, lucked out finding Mr. Milton.
He is incredibly patient and calm, but firm. He has a cool vibe about him that creates a “jam session” atmosphere instead of the traditional stiff ol’ lady kind of approach. He has been great with incorporating our home and school behavior program to ensure our son is successful. He is also adaptable in how he teaches to ensure he is reaching our son that is most effective to his learning style. But most importantly he was honest with us as we began this road into special needs piano lessons. We were not sure if our son was even teachable. He was open to trying a few lessons to see if there were some foundational strengths he could work with . Mr. Milton was very articulate about what strengths he saw in our son despite his impairments that allowed us to decide to continue with investing in lessons. He wasn’t just trying get another client and take our money. We love Mr. Milton, and even on our son’s worst days , he always love to see him too.

I've had a great experience working with Samuel. He took time to understand my musical and personal goals, and then struck a great balance of finding my comfort zone and pushing me forward. He's an experienced performer that has a great knowledge of repertoire for all voices, too. I would highly recommend lessons with him!
Joshua
Sammy took the time to understand my exact range and current abilities. Because of this he was able to give me some great starting exercises which were specifically tailored to my current abilities and natural vocal characteristics.

Also, the lesson was fun and he was very animated and put words and visual understanding to vocal concepts in a way that was fascinating and helpful. I've had lessons before but his education and experience really stood out in the way he understands the biology and process. We will be meeting again for sure!
Gail
Samuel is an excellent teacher! I have performed in singing groups for several years but never had formal training. I highly recommend Samuel for singers of every level looking to work on their vocal technique.

Emma is a great and patient acting teacher. While my other teachers rarely dived into my characters' objectives, Emma never fails to work with me on character development, script analysis, projection, breathing, and stage presence. I learned so much from her, I recommend her for everyone.

I am studying to become a professional classical singer. Through my own training, I have discovered that having an amazing teacher – one who is supportive, caring, and hard working, and who will push you and work with you to be better – is the most important tool an aspiring musician can have. I believe that every student is different, as no person's body is the same, and no vocal instrument is the same. Based on my performance in the Teaching of Singing course at Oberlin Conservatory of Music, I was selected to be a voice teacher to non-Conservatory students at Oberlin College. I have now had several students, two of whom, with my assistance, have just been accepted to prestigious summer programs in classical voice. Though I have only been teaching voice to others for a year now, I have been teaching myself alongside my own teachers through practice and independent work for the past nine years, and I have discovered countless techniques and tricks to help every aspect of singing.

She finds songs according to my vocal range of course but a step further she will choose a song that focuses on one particular part of singing that is my current weakness. Her genuine excitement when I make improvements is very rewarding by itself but she also provides the occasional opportunity to perform too."

"Professionalism is the first word to come to mind regarding Michelle. I have had over a decade of music and voice lessons with various teachers. By far, Michelle is the most professional educator. Michelle understands that our voices are like any other instrument, and has a holistic approach to the health of the body and voice. With her guidance I am confident I will sing healthy and strong well into my senior years. Personality would be met second word for Michelle.
