I completed a degree in Jazz Studies from Michigan State, where I studied upright bass and bass guitar. In addition, I studied with some of the best local artists and bass players in the Seattle area, such as Farko Dosumov, Dean Schmidt and consider myself a well respected musician and addition in the Seattle music scene. Find me at local Jams like Mo' Jam Mondays, Capitol Cider, and the Owl n' Thistle

Stanley has been teaching both my sons for the past month and a half and it’s been going great ! He recognized early on that the kids would need different teaching styles and was spot on in his assessment. We look forward to the kids gaining proficiency and a love for music under his tutelage.

I've been a musician all of my life. I have a music education degree and have performed in professional ensembles. I've played bass guitar in a funk rock band, covering many Red Hot Chili Peppers songs, as well as others from the 90's.

I currently focus my energy on the acoustic guitar, however I feel very comfortable playing and teaching introductory and intermediate skills on the bass, including techniques in finger picking and slap bass techniques.

Curriculum will include technique, styles discussion, songs, and performance.

About Joshua

I am a tutor who earned a music teaching degree, substitute taught, and didn't become a school teacher. I held professional tech retail jobs and am supplementing my life with my passion - education. Whatever subject or instrument I teach, I celebrate students' successes; and I enjoy helping lear

It help him understand about the instrument and the sound when he play. He do have a sense of humor which help my son to have fun and be more comfortable. He also teaches other instruments, too. Highly recommended to everyone!!!!

John is very patient and knowledgeable. You can tell that he's been teaching for a very long time. I'm self-taught and have been playing for over 20 years and within minutes of viewing me play, John was able to pick out immediately my flaws. He gives me homework every week, and gives me a hard time if I do not do it. Exactly what I look for in a teacher.

Hello, my name is Matthew and I am a student at Belmont University studying electric and double bass under some of the greatest bass players in the country and gain personal insight on their teaching styles as well as what makes great bass players. However, I understand that lessons with these professionals can be expensive and I want to be able to help students discover the joy of bass playing in the same way that I did. I treat each student individually and as the unique learner that they are and will create a curriculum for them depending on what they would like to learn! Of course there are certain things that I believe every student should learn such as scales and arpeggios and things the student shall be able to take whatever path they choose! Thank you so much and I hope to spend time with you diving into the amazing depths of the instrument that is the bass, both electrically and acoustically

Matt's a great teacher, musician and person all around. I've played guitar for years now but I always leave feeling like I've learned something useful and its never a dull time! I feel much more confident in my ability to pluck a bass and would recommend him to anyone at any level of playing ability.

"I am really lucky to have found Al. I am just learning my instrument as an adult and have tried three different teachers (as well as self-managed lessons) before Al. Why I am enjoying my lessons with Al so much is because he brings energy to the session, he encourages questions, he's ready (even excited) to dig deeper into the why of what I'm learning. He challenges you to get the basics and get them right, but he's also willing to indulge in a student's curiosity and let me take the lesson where I want to do as well. All this means I am developing a lot faster than I did when I tried to learn on my own. I'd highly recommend giving Al a try."

"Alfred has an infectious enthusiasm for the bass guitar that carries over in his lessons. I wanted to learn the slap and pop techniques of my favorite bass players including Marcus Miller and others. Alfred is a skilled percussive bass player who is fluent in these techniques. He is a patient teacher who will introduce new techniques and concepts at your own pace, whether you are a beginner or more advanced player. The lessons always go over the time allotment and we often have to force ourselves to “call it a night” and put down our bass guitars. The bottom line is that I’m having fun and making good progress. Online lessons have their place, but you don’t get the feedback and accountability that comes from taking in-person lessons. I can highly recommend Alfred to anyone who is serious about learning how to properly play bass guitar."
