I just finished a series of online upright bass lessons with Dr. Norman. It's wonderful to have a lesson without toting the bass around town. Dr. Norman is impressive in skill and knowledge. There was nothing musically he didn't know, couldn't explain, or demonstrate on the bass. He has a keyboard at hand to play chords or emphasize a particular key, and he is proficient on that too. Dr. Norman is A++.

Tomas loved his first lesson with Dr. Norman. Dr. Norman provides a structured environment, something Tomas needs to thrive.
The method systematically approaches bass technique from the first note - open strings through Major and minor scales arpeggios fingerings, bow exercises, up to 7th position
Classically trained, energetic, experienced and creative music teacher with a proven ability to get the very best out of pupils; experienced in identifying the appropriate resources necessary for a subject matter and ensuring that they are used efficiently and effectively. Most of my students read and play simple music after 2-3 classes of active instruction.
I also specialize in special needs students.
All my musical knowledge and expertise was attained in Eastern Europe with an extensive music pedagogy training. I play and teach piano, upright bass, bass guitar and a range of other instruments. Over the years I taught basic piano, the beginner violin, viola, cello and a variety of school instruments such as recorder and xylophone. I also teach advanced music theory, harmony and basics of composition and orchestral arranging req
uired for music colleges. I especially find it rewarding working with beginners and the opportunity to show them the amazing world of listening, playing and making music.
The teaching begins with identifying student's musical needs, goals and tastes. Students are taught a stimulating, thorough, and graduated course of recital solos, theory, technical studies, and classic repertoire. For those wishing to pursue more of a classical approach to music, there are proven methods to accomplish that goal established by European master teachers and pedagogues. Also, I can teach the know-how of Jazz and Blues though gradual lessons that cover basic theory, scales and chords up to melody and harmony development.

Peter has exceeded my expectations, I look forward for my lesson every week. I honestly can say He is the best teacher I’ve ever had. I am a 44 yo violin beginner student who has had 5 teachers in the last 6 years, I didn’t learn much with them, this been said, with Peter in just 3 months I feel I have learned more than my other teachers. Peter is so, so patient and extremely professional. I am very pleased to have found such a wonderful teacher.

Peter has been teaching bass to our son for several years and our son has become quite proficient. It's a bonus that Peter is unfailingly upbeat, professional, and a pleasure to have around. He truly loves music and conveys his appreciation to his students - so much so that now my husband is taking cello lessons from Peter, too.
This is one of my main instruments. I will teach the proper way of playing this instrument to prevent injury. I can teach any style and any type of music.
I am a Hofstra University graduate with over fifteen years of experience in music. I have played at many of the venues in the NYC area and have toured with the R&B singer Macy Gray. I am currently working with four different bands in the tri-state area in addition to the session work.
*** Lesson Details *** In my lessons I take a step by step approach on learn how to move and how to understand the instrument at hand. I require all of my students to learn how to read sheet music and how to translate onto their instrument. I'm a laid back teacher and will teach what is most appealing to the student but in an academic style. I teach the student not just to play but to understand what it is he or she is playing. I will cater to any level of playing and help give a path to further their knowledge of playing.
Carissa Austria, age 8, learned piano with Jeff. Her lessons were instrumental in giving her the incentive to practice on her own. Jeff created lessons that made my daughter curious on how to play on her own and experimented with certain keys and sounds. Thank you Jeff for giving my daughter the deep insight to playing the piano not only from her weekly lessons but encouraging her to practice on her own with minimum supervision.
I am available to teach beginner and intermediate level players on double bass. I am currently working towards a bachelors in music with a focus on music performance. Double Bass is my primary instrument. I'm able to teach jazz and classical as well as the various forms of technique needed to play double bass properly.
My name is Jeff and I have been a bass player for over 20 years. I have professional experience on bass guitar and have played, performed, and recorded with many bands and musicians since the mid 1990's. I currently perform throughout the Chicago area in bands and in musical theatre pits as well. I am fluent in all styles of music including rock, jazz, soul, R&B, metal, and classical. I also play double bass and have a Bachelor in Music degree. Your success as a growing musician is important to me so I am sure to incorporate a firm understanding of music theory and fundamentals into playing the bass. I am extremely versatile and have a relaxed, outgoing personality that allows me to be a successful teacher. Whether you want to learn how to play your favorite song, or you want to learn how to read music and understand music theory, I can h
elp you grow into the musician you want to become.
I’m not usually one to write reviews but Jeff is such a great teacher. He really helped to develop my playing to where now I consider myself a confident bassist. His style of teaching not only helped me to be a better bassist, but also helped me internalize musical concepts that will help me for the rest of my life. I strongly recommend Jeff if you are looking for someone to really take you to the next level!

I am 48 years old and I’ve been playing the bass since 9 years of age. I started performing professionally at age 14. I play the String Bass as well as Electric Bass and have performed with several Symphony Orchestras as well as bands. I am currently a resident artist at the legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Club in New Orleans LA. I tour regularly with several bands and have performed in about 20 countries around the world.
My name is Jerry. I LOVE music and passing my knowledge on to others. I have played many different instruments in many different kinds of bands. It all one major thing in common, it was FUN! If you are not having fun while learning an instrument you won't want to learn. Lessons can be fun AND educational at the same time. I have had many parents tell me I'm one of the best teachers they have ever seen. (A couple of them were public school teachers themselves). I truly want my students to succeed and I will do everything in my power to help them accomplish that!

Jerry is a wonderful instructor. I wasn’t sure how online lessons would go but they have been seamless and fun and my son is making progress with the bugle. I would highly recommend this format and this teacher. The convenience and quality of instruction are excellent. We are signing up for more lessons and may move on to another instrument once my son feels confident on the bugle.

Jerry is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I’m looking forward to our series.
I have been a gigging bassist and teacher for the past 3 years, working with students of any age. Playing in the orchestra and teaching students are two of my greatest passions in life. My goals as a teacher are to help encourage that interest in a productive environment. Finally: I really LOVE MUSIC!!! It's incredible!! It will my sincere and constant pleasure to share this 'intimate aesthetic expression of everything' with you or your student.
Education - I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's of Music at the Eastman School in Rochester, NY.
In my junior year, I wrote the music, conducted, and acted as musical director for a full-scale musical entitled Get Hooked: A Pirate Musical. Currently, I'm working on a second full-length project, entitled Nuclear Love, that is set to be produced and performed in the spring of 2020.
I also have experience doing rock and jazz gigs on my electric bass. If you or student is also interested in learning these styles, I'd be more than happy to ...
Here's a bit about myself:
Since 2016, I've been teaching math to high school and elementary students. I've always loved it. With teaching, I feel that I've grown more patient and more thoughtful in my general life. I recommend that anyone with the means try their hand at teaching. It is a particularly rewarding thing in and of itself.

My favorite books are Zen and the Art of Motorc

My favorite quote is "infinity and beyond." Granted, there is no such thing as 'beyond' - unless you're referring to the power set of infinity. Honestly, I just love infinity. I could talk about the infinite hotel and fractals forever (pun noted and kept).
I've been taking French classes for about 5 years now. If you're interested in having a charming conversation in slightly broken French, je suis ton mec!
There are a few things more inspiring to than helping a student triumphantly arrive at a solution. Or watching them nail a big shift that was giving them trouble the week before. Learning anything comes with struggle, with difficulty, and I've certainly had my share of practice frustration. It's important to understand that such an experience is part of the process. I have no doubt that with the right ethic, the right teacher, and a desire to learn, anything can be achieved.
Our lessons are fun! First and foremost, learning an instrument has to be fun to engage the brain and keep the student interested in progressing. I pride myself in being a unique teacher that effectively pushes students to progress at a steady pace while still having fun and loving the instrument.
Hi! My name is Baltazar! I am a passionate teacher and musician who has been playing since about age 10 and teaching since about age 15. I love all styles of music and aim to re-create that love in all of my students. I firmly believe that in order to learn and excel in a subject a student must enjoy the process of learning itself. I pride myself in my ability to do that with all of my students.
