Upright Bass with Stephen G.

Stephen Gentillalli is an upright and electric bass player from San Diego, CA. He started playing and studying electric bass at the age of 13. His primary studies were in Jazz, Funk, Reggae, and soul. After joining the jazz band in 2005 at Mesa city college in San Diego, Stephen picked up the upright bass under the direction of Bob Magnusson. His studies then lead to classical and jazz. Stephen then joined the La Jolla symphony and was a member for 5 years. He also performed in jazz groups around town. Being absorbed in the music world, he started his professional career performing regularly with bands locally and internationally. He plays everything from jazz, classical, funk, reggae, rock, soul, blues, pop, latin, and more. Stephen is currently touring with the group 'B Side players' and has a teaching role coaching the upright bass section at Helix high School in San Diego.
