I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I have been teaching professionally for 17 years. It is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson.

I love teaching piano, especially to younger students! I teach from a classical standpoint, which provides a strong foundation. I use the Faber Piano Method for my beginner students. This method teaches students to identify notes on the piano, read music notes, and learn simple and fun songs while incorporating important music theory. For my intermediate students, I pick books and songs to suit each student's needs and interests. As they progress, they will learn more challenging songs and music theory while still having a fun time!

I have taught private piano lessons to beginner, intermediate, and advanced students for nearly 10 years. My music degree is from Berklee College of Music, and I have played piano for over 30 years. I enjoy helping children, teens, and adults find joy in making music with correct technique and a solid foundation in music theory.

With 10 years of teaching experience, and a Master of Music in Piano Performance, my students can expect a refined pedagogical approach designed to teach them conservatory-level core competencies every musician should know up to advanced techniques.

In our first lesson, we will carefully map a trajectory that will get you to your goals. The way my approach differs from many teachers is I don't approach every student with the same methodology, but instead rely on your interests to build a methodology together.

This will usually include: piano literature ranging from classical to modern genres, composition, music theory, ear training, sight reading, transposition, improvisation, accompanying techniques, and other skills depending on what my student needs. Students who enroll come from all walks of life. Some are hobbyists; some are children; some are working professionals, and some are seasoned musicians looking to better their craft.
