My name is Maggie and I'm a piano teacher. I have been teaching private piano lessons for 10 years. I focus on students' fundamental skills such as finger technic, sight reading, and ear training. I also incorporate music theory during the piano lesson so students also understand why the music sounds beautiful. I teach at my home studio, and I can also drive to your place if you have a piano or keyboard. I teach Classical, Jazz, Blues, and Pop. - certified as L.R.S.M. of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 1989
- received superior-plus rating in National Piano Playing Auditions (collegiate classification)

I am an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor studying piano performance and philosophy, with a strong interest in piano pedagogy of all levels. In pursuing these two degrees, I believe in a well-rounded musical education that includes story-telling, connecting music to relevant history and literature, and developing an emotive connection to music beyond just the technical in ways that are fun and engaging, especially in the beginning stages of learning.

That being said, I also emphasize the importance of having a solid foundation that allows for the capability to progress further. With teaching technique to beginners, I focus on fun exercises and activities that are easy for both the students and parents to understand and practice at home.
