I teach Viola Using the traditional Suzuki method. If you have played violin, the technique is much the same. Reading the C clef will be a new experience. Viola has a great rich sound and is a great solo instrument and a great ensemble instrument. Come and enjoy learning a wonderful musical instrument.

I started my violin lessons with Brian during my sophomore year of high school and continued with him through my senior year. He immediately began working with me on the music I had received from being in the Capital High School Orchestra. Throughout my years with Brian, we worked on perfecting many solos, creating beautiful ensembles, and enhancing my knowledge of music theory. Brian provided me a perfect transition as I moved from playing in high school orchestra to making music in my personal life. Whether you an absolute beginner or have been playing for years, I would absolutely recommend taking lessons from Brian! He is an amazing teacher, working with you every step of the way in pursuing your dreams in music, whatever they might be.

Brian is a great and patient teacher. He listens to me and pushes me when he knows that I can do better. He is super talented, super nice, and he has a good sense of humor. 10 out of 10 would recommend.
Lindsay
Super awesome teacher! So good with both younger kids and teenagers and the hard work he puts in to help others really shows in his students!

I've been teaching Viola for 3 years, and my students have gone on to join school orchestras. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play "Twinkle Twinkle" and as time goes on you'll be able to play a Bach Minuet. I specialize in Classical music, typically use the Suzuki Method and the companion I Can Read Music books, and have the following tools available for your lessons: music stand and finger tapes. I love working with students of all ages, and I can't wait to meet you!
If you are in need of an instrument, we may use one of your purchased lessons to meet at a local instrument provider to test out instruments.

About Christine

Christine has been teaching private lessons since 2013 and is currently available to teach lessons at her home studio. Christine has helped students achieve confidence in their playing, perform songs with effortless execution, master technical skills, and prepare for recitals. Christine received

Christine was professional and accommodating to my son needs.
He is already looking forward to his next lesson.

Christine is great with my children. She helped my high-school student with his orchestra audition (with her coaching, he made it into the highest orchestra at his school). She also helped launch my middle school aged daughter as she started up with viola. Christine is terrific with communication, flexible when possible with scheduling, and is as friendly as a long lost auntie. Her teaching style is gentle and encouraging.

Peter is an extremely patient and knowledgeable teacher; it has been a privilege studying the piano and cello with him for the past 2 months. In that brief time, I have completed 16 of the 17 pieces in the first Suzuki book for cello! I have also enjoyed the piano exercises and repertoire he has assigned, which are technical but melodious. He has a great understanding of theory and technique; he is very personable and encouraging; and he was flexible and accommodating about the times and modes (in person and online) for my lessons. I recommend him wholeheartedly to other adult beginners like me and am grateful to be under his tutelage.

Peter is exceptional. His instruction is simple, straightforward and progressive

Peter has exceeded my expectations, I look forward for my lesson every week. I honestly can say He is the best teacher I’ve ever had. I am a 44 yo violin beginner student who has had 5 teachers in the last 6 years, I didn’t learn much with them, this been said, with Peter in just 3 months I feel I have learned more than my other teachers. Peter is so, so patient and extremely professional. I am very pleased to have found such a wonderful teacher.

"As a former professional musician with an undergrad in Music, my standards are pretty high when I'm selecting musicians to teach my kids. My son has been taking viola lessons with Regina for 2.5 years. She is professional but also down-to-earth and great to work with. My son, now an 8th grader, played a level 1 solo at the District and State ISSMA contests and earned a Gold at both levels--the only kid in his school to do so. We credit Regina for appropriately pushing him to be his best. You can be assured that when you choose Regina, you're choosing one of the very best teachers around."

"My daughter has been taking lessons from Will for about a year. We are lucky enough to live near Athens, so lessons take place at our home. I have been so pleased with Will. He is a great teacher - enthusiastic, kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Even though he has many students, he always remembers exactly what they were working on. He takes interest in my daughter's life and will ask her how marching band is going, or other things about school. I especially like that Will is someone that she can look up to as an example of hard work and perseverance. He's not only a great teacher, but he's just a good person, and I am so glad we found him!"
