Susanna S. has helped students improve their playing abilities on violin, viola, and cello, to successfully audition for youth orchestras, competitions, college auditions and ASTA or PMEA events. She provides traditional classical training on violin, viola, and cello, works with students to play for their own enjoyment and shares her passion for music. In addition, I will provide instruction on music theory and music history as part of instrumental lessons as it applies.

Susanna received her training at State University of New York at Purchase in 1991, where she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Music. Susanna is a great teacher.

I have never played a violin before, and she is walking me through the process with patience, clear instructions, different interesting and fun ways of explaining concepts, which make lessons flow easily. By the time the lesson ends, I can hardly notice that an hour has passed by.

It is a joy to have her as a teacher. I have had a few questions off schedule, and she has never failed to answer them promptly.
I look forward to every lesson I have with her to keep learning to play this beautiful and amazing instrument.

I have started cello lessons back in June. Susanna is someone who will go at your pace, & is very patient with you. I grew up learning how to read music, so I was able to get through the first book pretty quickly. She has helped me set a new goal so that when I become unmotivated to practice, I can remember what my main goal is. I have an early lesson, so I tend to be a little sassy... She does amazingly with handling my sass & dishing it right back out at me. She makes the difficult lessons more fun, & enjoyable. I would reach out to her if you are looking for a teacher who is flexible, patient, & a joy to learn from.

Susanna is a highly qualified teacher who goes out of her way to provide excellent instruction for her students. As my high school strings teacher, she upped the quality of the music we played, and took time to help us develop skills individually. I recall that during two semesters when the regular class hours did not fit into my schedule, she sacrificed a portion of her free time to supervise me in an independent study. She also coached several of us to successfully audition for competitive student orchestras. A decade later, I still remember and appreciate her expertise and patience.

Susanna worked with me at Winstead Elem. School in Wilson, NC as an Ass. Principal. Susanna was a go getter, very professional and always trustworthy. She went beyond her duties as an AP and even played her instrument at a couple if events. This showed the students anothe side of her besides just being their AP. She had a wonderful repoire with all the students and they respected her kindness. Susanna would be an asset to any company or job she was asked to do.
