Luis is a humble, patient and compassionate instructor. He displays a genuine love for teaching and is clearly committed to his students success. He is your cheerleader-of-sorts. Meaning, when you feel flustered with yourself he's the one who keeps a positive attitude and puts your mind back into that "I can do this" thinking pattern. I'm confident that anyone who enlists the help of this outstanding instructor will surely be happy with his work.

My 8 year old daughter has been studying piano for the past 2 months, he's flexible with timing and very patient with my child, she has learned more than I expected. I put her in his class because I heard that piano helps progress children's mind in mathimatics and other subjects and she has actually done better in her classes ever since she started.
Cristina
I took classical guitar first then piano because I got my nails done. Luis is a very patient teacher and advances his lessons according to your pace. He not only encourages you to continue the classes, but pushes you to practice at home atleast 30 minutes to work out the fingering in guitar and the hand placements for piano. I've been with him for 4 months and planning to continue, he has always kept his home clean and his work space organized. Luis offers in Spanish and English and has been very patient with my frustration when I don't get things right.

I have been teaching this subject for over 16 years. The main curriculum for beginners is Alfred's Basic Piano Library. There are three beginner levels (beginner, late, adult) and one will be selected after the first meeting. For non-beginning students, the course of study will be developed based on past experience, current abilities, and goals. It is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson for beginners. However, learning to read is a part of subsequent lessons. Music is not learned "by ear." A certain amount of theory will be a part of every lesson just as technique and repertoire. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.

I very much like but not take it seriously with an American way of learning skills by just having fun lessons without committed practice. I trust in every child’s sense of understanding and smart motivation.
Russian school of teaching piano is traditionally the best due to centuries of polishing teaching skills by greatest musicians and teachers. We strive to master both technique and artistry. However, in reality, to achieve this might be a challenge. A fun makes it better. I use a combined American and Russian approach. To help students keep progressing, balancing between hard work and fun attitude, between technical skills and artistically emotional performance is my philosophy and passion.

Ms. Alty is a very patient yet thorough piano teacher. Since we left our hometown for Houston, it's been really difficult getting a piano teacher that matches the same talent as our previous teacher. We had gone through 4 teachers in Houston. However finding Ms. Alty was like finding a rare gem at the top of the mountain.
She is very knowledgeable and has the skills to get a child to listen and actually want to practice. My children have improved tremendously and actually started playing more complicated musical piece.
My children love Ms. Alty and always look forward to having their piano class. I would recommend Ms. Alty if you're looking for a very musically knowledgeable and talented piano teacher who is both firm and gentle when teaching,

Ear training is an important component of being a well-rounded musician - whether you are preparing for an audition or exam, are trying to get college credit through AP classes, are struggling with sight singing, I can help!

I teach ear training with an emphasis on singing - using solfege - developing aural skills. Lessons generally focus on solfege sight singing, harmonic function, identifying interval, audiation (inner hearing), and sequentially developing aural skills in a logical manner.

I am an experienced teacher of 16 years! I thrive on finding each student's specific learning style and cultivating a positive and productive learning experience within that. I apply consistent and focused energy in getting my students to strive for their best, and I aim to inspire them to respond in turn with the same focused and accurate effort.

I teach using a modified Suzuki method. This means that, while I do subscribe to Suzuki's "mother tongue" approach, I also believe that education on an instrument requires literacy from a young age. I have discovered in my years of teaching that an early ability to read notes and understand musical theory and form is not a handicap to a student's development, but rather a benefit to the student gaining a richer, fuller understanding of their instrument and music in general.

I believe that every person can be taught, that parental involvement is crucial in the development of musicians from a young age through the high school years, and ...

"I was very shy was I started piano lessons with Ms. Charlene. Over the years, the musical skills I learned transformed me to a confident person who enjoys playing in front of an audience. At 10th grade, Ms. Charlene encouraged me to take the Advanced level Panel CM competition. That was a memorable experience! Now, I share my joy of playing piano by volunteering at church for many events."

"Cole is a wonderful pianist and a knowledgeable teacher. My child took his in-person lessons before, and she liked it very much. While Cole gave her many effective technical advices and practice tips, his lesson was not just about technical improvement. He helped my child to play more beautifully and explained the idea in a way that the elementary school age child could understand. I felt lucky that she had an opportunity to receive these kinds of lessons from a young age. He is very resourceful and I think he will help students explore music more in-depth, whether you are playing small pieces or big, advanced pieces."

"As an adult beginner, I chose Anastasia for more personalized instruction, especially in technique, after learning the basics through community center group lessons. I have not continued only because another equally well-qualified instructor who lives close by, within walking distance, has become available. I am very pleased with the lessons and pointers that I have received. Anastasia is professional, encouraging, and friendly. An especially helpful part of her instruction is the set of comments and suggestions that she writes down to guide practice between lessons. If the neighbor instructor does not work out, I’ll be back."
