Unfortunately, I had to cancel the rest of my lessons with Mary because I was becoming too busy with work to stay committed to my lessons and practice. If I ever take lessons again I'll definitely sign up with Mary again, zero complaints.

"Jonathan's experience as a musician and teacher helped me advance tremendously in my ability to play guitar and understand music on a more advanced level. He's great at relating to his students and takes a genuine interest in their progress. " -Victoria L.
I spent twelve years studying classical piano under the tutorship for an classical pianist from Oberlin Conservatory, and I believe there is no alternative to become a great pianist without starting out classically. You will get a excellent foundation for technique, style, sight-reading, harmony, and repertoire than will transfer to any other genre. Beginning students will start with an excellent foundation for technique and apply these to basic repertoire, learn to read music, and play scales. Intermediate and beyond will build and improve on these skills to learn classical repertoire and more complex pieces.
I'm so excited to be in Music City! I just moved to Nashville from New York City where I worked with Broadway performers and kids auditioning for some of the most competitive performance schools in the country. I'm confident I can help you achieve your music goals, whether they be learning to produce a powerful, resonate, healthy sound with your voice, becoming proficient in piano from everything from Bach to Billy Joel, or writing clear, catchy songs that will have a big impact on an audience.

My ample experience in teaching students from age 6 to 18 at the Community Music School in Chicago and the Brooklyn Musical Arts School have equipped me to be an excellent communicator and teacher. During my time teaching in these schools, I used methodical books such as the Kodaly Method, Alfred, Faber piano books and customized worksheets catered to the needs of each student. What distinguishes me as a teacher is my ability to understand student's strengths and weaknesses and teach in a way that best suites the student.

Over 15 years of teaching experience, offering a tried and true method of learning to play within a few lessons by ear, also offering classical or both. If you want to be able to play the piano by ear fast and effectively, our proven method of over 25 years will get you playing your favorite music in no time. I also offer classical lessons, and many students prefer to take a dual track in order to train their ear as well as their musical knowledge. I would love to propel your student into a place where they can be a life-long learner so they can always improve their musical skills, even without an instructor.

My name is Lexi and I am a Music Education student at Belmont University.
I started my music career when I was just 5 years old and picked up a violin to which many squeaky sounds came out. I went on to learn the Suzuki method and Mariachi music. Since then I have learned piano, guitar, ukulele, bass guitar, clarinet, and voice. As a music ed student at Belmont, we are required to learn the basics in all orchestral instruments (e.g. trumpet, viola, percussion).
I will be graduating this December and plan on staying in Nashville. I have attended several Music Education Conferences and recently attended that Tennessee Arts Academy for Elementary Music Teachers. I do these to foster Professional Development and to gain great ideas from Music teachers across the country.

I am a concert pianist and organist who has performed and taught private instructions for decades: from beginners to advanced players, adults coming back after a long time away, to clients who want custom arrangements, goals.
Though my bakground is the classical tradition, I've taught non-classical including jazz, pop, new age and other styles. Regardless, unless foundational study and structure is needed, students can expect to work on what music they like, and learn new skills to play it better. If I can play some of the most difficult piano ever written, then I have the answers to help YOU play better!
I look forward to working you!
