I prefer the Suzuki piano system in books one through three for their ability to incorporate higher level musicality early on, but also use the Bastien system for learning chords and basic theory.

The first lesson was great. She explained some of the fiddle's background, how to hold it, and how to play it all in an interactive way. The time flew by. My daughter is very enthusiastic about the lessons & even more excited about the fiddle than before the lesson. Kathleen is awesome.

I took piano for nine years. I have seven students now and have been teaching for four years.
I am willing to give plenty of time and attention to my students and always teach with the knowledge that each student is different and unique.
I do not have a set time in which students must finish lessons (I.e. 30 minute for 40 minute lessons only.). I will teach them for as long or as short as I feel the need.

About Ashley
Hi!
My name is Ashley, and I am 20 years old. I took piano lessons for nine years, and I have taught for 4 years. Currently I have eight students, and I am looking forward to having more. I have a flexible time schedule, and currently have a few days and various times open.
I use Alfred’s books, as I feel they are very well structured and helpful to both teacher and student.
I prefer to teach younger children or children who have never had lessons before, but I would gladly be willing to work with older students and/or those who have had experience.
I strive to be patient, understanding, and am more than happy to take time with my students. I will teach for as short or as long as they need to be taught, I do not try to cram lessons into a specific time schedule. I do review frequently and make sure my students understand what they are
learning.
As of now, I teach children who are 7 years old, 12 years old, and in between.
I enjoy teaching and want to make it affordable to parents and fun and enjoyable for students.

I have been teaching piano for over 15 years, both in the classroom and private lesson settings. I believe anyone can learn an instrument-so all ages and skill levels are welcome. I fervently believe that a solid foundation in music theory and technique goes a long way, but I also know that you should love what you do. If that love is classical music, then this is the place for you-music should bring joy! Because I am a classically trained pianist I can help you achieve your goals, whether they be to prepare for a college or governor's school audition, to prepare for competitions, or simply to play the music you most enjoy. Whether you have always dreamed of learning or are browsing for a child just beginning to consider it, I would love to work with you!

About Carrie
I am a professional worship leader and pianist, as well as a professional teacher. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music, specifically voice and piano, from Columbia International University and a Master of Arts in Teaching early childhood and elementary education from that same school. I have been in this industry since I was a child, working both professionally and in a volunteer capacity. I have done everything from touring with choral groups, to directing musicals, to conducting children and adult choirs, to writing and arranging music for choirs and students, to teaching individual and group lessons.

My passion is the music of the church, but I am classically trained and have taught many different styles throughout my career, from Broadway to gospel and many things in between. I endeavor with each of my students to find their p
assion and goals before we ever dig in to the mechanics of learning to play so that I can direct your lessons in the way that best suits you. If playing off of a chord chart with a band is your goal, I can make your lessons suit that purpose. If you want to work toward competitions as a classical musician, I can help there too. I can also help if all you want to do is play for your own enjoyment or raise a well rounded child who appreciates the arts! While the basics of music theory are foundational and need to be taught, the techniques and methodology can be adjusted to suit your needs, whatever they may be.

I look forward to speaking with you and getting the chance to help you fall in love with music and to work toward your goals.
