I have a wide range of experience with performing many genres of music and always seek to bring out the best and most confident performance in all of my students. During my Masters at the IU Jacobs School of Music, I specialized in the performance of Baroque vocal repertoire and learned technical exercises that can help increase flexibility of technique in singing any genre of music. My diverse performance experiences across classical, opera, baroque, and musical theater enable me to encourage all students to reach their full potential with their singing voice and confidence that radiates into all areas of their lives.
About Sarah
I am an active vocalist in the Pittsburgh area and recent graduate of the Early Music Voice Master’s program at IU Jacobs School of Music, where I studied baroque and renaissance vocal repertoire with Steven Rickards and Dana Marsh. My teaching philosophy centers around developing both a love

Think of me as a creative guide rather than a singing teacher. I provide opportunities to develop skills that will help with singing as well as personal artistic growth. You will learn vocal technique, and then be asked to take the next step and create your own style and approach. If you are interested, we can work on creating original compositions and songs. Over the course of my lessons, you will also learn about a variety of foundational musical topics, explore the concept of creativity, and develop your own creative process.
About Kelly
In my lessons, you will get to know the unique qualities of your own voice, then learn to shape and strengthen it through specialized knowledge and easy daily exercises. Every voice matters! I'm here to help you find yours. I am not your traditional voice teacher. Following in the footstep

Crystal has increased my daughterâs self-esteem and expressiveness through song. My daughter is now writing her own poetry and song lyrics, as well as being able to combat her once shyness quality. She loves to perform in front of others now and has a confidence level that amazes me, especially now that she is going into those âteenâ years. I think a lot of thanks needs to go to Crystal, for assisting my daughter in reaching her current creative level!
Crystal is an amazing piano instructor. She is patient, understanding and dedicated. My daughter has learned so much from her. My daughterâs love for music has increased immensely since learning how to play the piano. This would never have been able to be accomplished without Crystalâs professional and caring teaching style.

I have been teaching this subject for over 13 years. There is no specific curriculum as each student will come to lessons with their own unique skills, needs, and goals. Lessons are tailored to those specifics. It is not necessary to know how to read music at the first lesson for beginners. However, learning to read is required for subsequent lessons and will be a large focus for all non-readers. Music is not learned "by ear." A certain amount of theory will be a part of every lesson just as technique and repertoire. Concerning repertoire, it will be selected primarily from the Broadway and West End rep based on the student's learning needs and with their input. The main emphasis on performance lessons, however, will be technique (enunciation, breathing, pitch/intonation, etc.) and reading. Students should come to the first lesson prepared to discuss their background & goals and the plan of their course of study.
About Troy
Composer Troy W. graduated from the New England Conservatory, earning his Bachelors, Masters (cum laude) and Graduate Diploma while studying with mentor Malcolm Peyton. After spending a year studying with Lukas Foss in Boston, Mr. W. moved to Houston in 2001 where he continued graduate studies at R
