My child had one previous lesson with Paul. It is true that she was not following his directions and his frustration was quite obvious.
On my second visit I was appalled by Paul’s behavior. Again my child wouldn’t sit down on the bench correctly. Verbatim this what occurred next, I quote: “This is not going to work out. Get out of my house NOW, NOW!(Screaming, like I was going to prolong this). I have better things to do than waste my time with your daughter. I don’t want to take your money.
It is true that my daughter can be difficult when approached in an authoritarian manner. However, my daughter is not yet six and Paul brought my daughter to tears. Surely this behavior was at best inappropriate and says more about the person Paul is than about my daughter. A simple “ May I have word with you in private” would be a mature way to part company. Not throwing a 6 year out of your house because you are frustrated. I was horribly offended by his manner and attitude. No way to treat a 6 year old.
This man has no patience with young kids. I would stay away from this teacher unless your child has some experience with piano. Definitely not child friendly.
Normally I do not post reviews unless something extraordinary happens This is one of those: extraordinarily bad.
An apology is in order if this poor excuse for a “teacher” has any understanding of the unnecessary hurt he has caused.

I have been teaching professional piano lessons for 13 years. I am educated in Classical and Jazz Piano. Classical has taught me the structure and fundamentals of piano while Jazz has shown me how to improvise and play with other musicians.
I customize lesson plans to fit individual learning styles of students while incorporating songs the student picks. I have taught songs from Disney, Movie Soundtracks, Video Game Soundtracks, Pop and Rock artists and more. I also assist in Student Showcases which allows me to show my students how to play along with other musicians. Music is a big part of my life and I hope that I can pass on that joy to each of my students.

Even before my time at Berklee, I spent years striving to put myself into every musical situation possible. This gave me a multi-perspective understanding that allows me to comfortably advise students of all ages and backgrounds regarding several different instruments, styles, and theoretical concepts.
My favorite part about teaching, regardless of discipline, is the fact that it allows me to keep growing and learning while sharing my experiences to help others do the same. So whether you want to work on jazz, pop, or classical, feel free to reach out, and I will happily customize and create the learning environment that you desire!

"As a teacher, I am whole heartedly committed to nurturing the development of students as they continue with the journey of playing music, and evolve into beautiful musicians. Achieving this requires a present awareness of my students and the music they are drawn to, while also presenting them with music and knowledge from various genres, styles, and times, to broaden their perception of the world we come from and thrive in. My intention is to provide each individual with the necessary tools to play music passionately, beautifully, and with understanding. My goals as a music educator are to help students experience the joy of learning and playing music while becoming a well-rounded and well-versed musician.
I aim to build a personal relationship with each of my students, and to provide a comfortable, challenging, fun, and vibrant learning experience as well so that all of my students can excel to their fullest potential." - Sophia ♫

I get anxiety when I perform, even privately. She really helps me feel comfortable and helps me not worry about making mistakes. I like a lot of different kinds of music, and she's great about being willing to work on anything I bring up to her, while also helping me stay focused. She helps me create goals, so I can actually see progression.

From a beginner piano player to a more advanced pianist, we can ALL benefit from working on our technique. It is and should be, a continual process that is consistent and regular.
