About Joseph
I am a special education public school teacher. I also teach private music students. Since I am used to working with Individualized Education Plans for school students, (IEP"s), I work hard to find what works for each student. My students and I have a lot of fun finding their "sweet spots" in learning music. Seeing them smile after learning a music lesson really makes my day! Our next generation is a joy to instruct, but music rewards students of all ages. Please send me a question by TakeLessons.com e-mail system, or call them to start!

My mission is to provide a positive musical experience for all students. For some this includes rigorous preparation for an audition of some kind, for others it may be an introduction to music fundamentals to foster better listening skills and greater artistic appreciation. All students will be challenged to improve their listening, timing, and technique. All students will learn to play songs that they love.

Recommendations for best results: make a three-month commitment to weekly lessons, and work up to 30 minutes of daily practice. This formula guarantees results. Bring your instrument, music books, and a binder with sheet protectors โ˜บ

*Scheduling policy: to avoid being charged for a lesson - One week notice is required to cancel, skip, or "roll over" a lesson. 24 hours notice to reschedule (based on availability).

To continue weekly lessons, students must maintain at least 90% attendance or the time slot may be forfeited.

Good Luck!

Jordan was born and raised in the El Centro, California where he began playing the alto sax in the elementary band program. At the age of 12, he began his study of guitar and drums, performing in several rock and ska bands around his home town and San Diego. At age 14, is where he found his love for brass instruments when he took up the trombone. While in high school he became a soloist with the Imperial Valley College Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of former Basie trumpeter Jimmy Cannon. That lead Jordan to accept the Constance Weldon Music Scholarship to attend the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL.

While performing in South Florida Jordan appeared with major acts including 10,000 Maniacs, and appeared on the Spanish television show "Calle Ocho." He also gained invaluable experience teaching in Miami public schools. His first teaching assignment was at Hialeah-Miami Lakes Senior High School where he directed 3 beginning bands, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, and their highly decorated Jazz Band. Later Jordan moved into the elementary setting, teaching vocal and instrumental music for grades K-5 at Cypress Elementary.

In 2007, Jordan returned to California to pursue a music career in San Diego. He can be seen performing all over San Diego, Orange, and LA Counties in styles ranging from rock, jazz, funk, blues, hip-hop, Latin, and more. He performs primarily on trombone, piano, and guitar, but is known to pick up percussion, harmonica, and other wind instruments as well. Jordan, along with the rest of the aggressively funky cover band SuperMagnetic, were the grand prize winner of the 2010 Viejas Ultimate Music Challenge 4. In 2011, Tori Roze & The Hot Mess were nominated for a San Diego Music Award in the category of "Best Blues Artist" after the release of their first album "From The Hip." They released their second album "Turbulence" last December, and are heard regularly on local San Diego radio. This album has also been nominated for Best Pop album for the 2013 San Diego Music Awards. In 2013, Jordan completed his Master of Music degree in Jazz Studies from San Diego State University.

On stage, Jordan is a talented and versatile performer. He is known for his trombone sound and improvisational ability, as well as his positive relationship with his fellow musicians. In lessons, Jordan is energetic and creative.

My son is 8 and has been seeing Jordan for several weeks. Jordan started out by clapping out music, learning about pitch and timing etc instead of putting a guitar in my sons hand on day one and overwhelming him. My son left Jordan today and on the way home excitedly told me “I love seeing Jordan, my confidence grows every time I see him.” Those were his own words! Tomorrow we are purchasing him a real guitar and I see him being a great student because of Jordan’s patience and introduction to music the right way! Jordan began at the foundation and I feel has set the stage for great things for my son. Wonderful teacher!!

As adjunct professor of music at Lebanon Valley College, I teach double bass, bass guitar, jazz improvisation, and directs small-group jazz combos. I have transcribed and written several bass books for Hal Leonard's Bass Play-Along series.

I like to teach musicians to learn music theory by learning their favorite songs and then dissecting them to find out what makes them work.

I can teach you to read notes and chord charts and get you ready for auditions and performances.

About Nick
About Nick:

He is a full-time professional musician who has taught hundreds of students how to play. You can see him play six nights a week at The Stratosphere Hotel & Casino, performing guitar duties in the new hit show: World's Greatest Rock Show!

Nick has also transcribed over a dozen books for the Hal Leonard Publishing Co.

He has spent time as a private guitar and bass instructor at an accredited Conservatory of Music, two music stores, three private schools, as well as in his own private studio before relocating to Las Vegas to pursue more playing opportunities!

His playing experience includes, but is not limited to: original funk/rock/fusion groups, jazz ensembles, metal bands, improv bands, and various cover/tribute bands.

His performance experience has found him entertaining on large festival stages throughout t
he midwest, as well as intimate club and casino gigs, private parties, corporate events and weddings.

Nick has been teaching private lessons and masterclasses since 2004. He has a extensive experience teaching all styles of electric and acoustic guitar, including extended range instruments. Additionally, he teaches bass, improvisation, music theory, songwriting, and advanced techniques.

And you will be learning in ways that are fun to play, sound good and can be applied immediately to your current playing!

Stop waiting! It's time to begin or extend your guitar knowledge and get you achieving that sound you're looking for!

I've been playing electric bass guitar for about 10 years now. Similar to guitar, I can teach either finger-style or with a pick.

About Jeremie
I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for nearly 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. I currently perform with one of my students from TakeLessons named Mackenzie O'Brien.

I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2014 with a BA in Music Composition. I studied under composers: Drew Baker, Kenn Kumpf, Ilya Levinson, and Marcos Balter. I've performed and worked with members from the groups, Del Niente and Chicago's Composer's Collective.

I build my lesson plans around each of my students based on their interests. I'll try to incorporate music they enjoy into their music regime. I keep lessons pretty relaxed, but will challenge a student who is looking for something m
ore difficult. I go at the pace you learn best at!

Bass guitar, ukulele, song-writing, counterpoint, orchestrating, arranging, music theory, and composing are subjects I'm well versed in and love to teach to other people.

I'm experienced with all kinds of music software, such as: Pro Tools, Logic, Garage Band, Cubase, FL Studio, Finale, Sibelius. If you want to learn how to write, record, mix, and master your own music, there's never been a better time to learn.

I've been teaching Guitar/Bass Full-Time for 5 years and my students have gone from absolute beginner to live performances at our huge annual events. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play several songs from lessons I have developed myself, and as time goes on you'll be able to play your favorite songs on the bass and develop the skills to join a band if you desire to do so. I specialize in Teaching beginner bass into intermediate stages, Rock, Blues, Music Theory, and Christian worship/contemporary. I typically use Lessons I have personally developed, and have the following tools available for your lessons: Music Stands, foot pedals, Bass amps, comfortable Heated/Ac studio, PA system, mixer, Macbook Pro, Comcast Business Level High Speed Internet, Microphones, Guitar Stands, Lesson Materials, and more. I love working with students of all ages, experience levels, and musical styles...and I can't wait to meet you! My mission is to teach, train, mentor and develop ...

About Jon
My life long passions have been for guitar, music, and business. I received my very first guitar at the age of 12 years old and have been studying, playing, and improvising ever since with over 28 years of experience. I have had the honor to train under some of the finest Guitarists in the Chicagoland area: Dave Uhrich, Eric Mantel, Toshi Iseda, and Tom Hess.

I have performed as lead guitarist on worship teams for over 15 years, currently at Kenosha Bible Church. As the lead guitarist of Aural Groove, I recorded under industry pro Michael Charles of Moonlight Studios. As lead singer and guitarist of Manna (an acoustic duo) I recorded under Rex Carroll of Whitecross.

I teach and train in a method I have coined "8 Cycle Guitar". This approach alternates areas of focus each week; like a fitness program. By routinely rotating through t
he 8 cycles of guitar training, the student gains the skill needed to master the instrument quickly and effectively.

My Promise to you, simply put, "You Will Learn to Play the Guitar, period." I will be your own personal Guitar Coach. Look through the pics in my profile. 90% or more of those students started out as absolute beginners. I will help to keep things moving along, keep you motivated, keep you inspired, and keep the lessons fun.

What do I want in return: committed students, students who show up to their lessons, students who will practice a half hour per day or more, 5 to 7 days per week. Students who do not use the words "I can't," but instead use the words "How can I? Please show me."

I am here to teach, train, coach, and mentor you to the best of my ability. If you do the things I request you to do in and outside of your lessons...I personally guarantee you will learn to play the guitar and impress all your friends and family.

Let's start this journey together. You won't regret your decision.

Open and individualized lessons will teach each student in a unique fashion to fit them best. Chords, theory and musical reading will be the main focus of these lessons. My individualized approach works well for many students so that they learn what they want, how they want, and see the results that they specifically are looking for.

Students can expect to learn anything from basic chords to advanced theory and improvisational techniques on their instrument.

Although bass guitar is a secondary instrument for me, I have always taken much enjoyment in playing and teaching it. I have been playing bass for nearly as long as guitar and feel that it is a very important instrument that could be just as rewarding to play as any other instrument. My mastery over bass comes more from my time spent as a guitarist, however I do understand many nuances behind playing bass and can instruct you confidently on the correct/required methods as far as this instrument is concerned.

About Chris
I began teaching music professionally in 2015 and since then it has become my passion. I graduated college with a degree in music and teach professionally as my primary source of income. I regularly teach guitar and bass (4 string 5 string and fretless) as well as introductory piano and even college level courses such as: music theory, composition and songwriting; all of which can be applied to any instrument. I am also confident teaching left handed students and am great with younger students. If you have any questions, feel free to call, text, or email at any time.

The bass is an amazing instrument. It lies somewhere inbetween the drums and guitar and holds the band together. Its the foundation for the music and everyone is relying on the bass playing to have great time/feeling when playing, and to know in and out the forms and direction of the music. Bass acumen as my teacher Danny Morris at Berklee College of Music used to say. In order to play bass, you need to have a great sense of time and be able to play grooves and each note with feeling. Its great to know your Chords, Scales, and Theory, so that you know the possibilities and have a sense of where the music is going. I like to teach various styles and get my students playing anything from Rock to Soul, Blues Funk, Motown, R&B, Country, Latin, Jazz, etc. The more genres you are comfortable in, the more you will work as a bass player. My goal is to use a balance and combination of the aforementioned material and get you grooving and feeling confident hold down the rhythm section with a ...

About Steve
I am a bass player, guitarist, piano player, drummer, vocalist, and I write my own music. I've been playing and studying music for 15 years. I started out on the bass guitar because it was what stood out to me most when I listened to music that I enjoyed. I had friends that were playing guitar and drums at the time, so we formed a band pretty much right when I started playing. It's great experience to just jump in and play with others!

The bass always resonated with me when I listened to music as a youngster and deciding which instrument to stick with. I was lucky to have some great teachers in school who inspired me and told me I picked the right instrument for my personality with the bass guitar. I had the benefit of playing in bands even when I was just starting out on my instrument. Learning my favorite tunes was a big part of what
kept me motivated as a musician and I strive to cater to each individual and work on the stuff they love so that they stay motivated and inspired. Music theory and the fundamentals are important, but I try to relate the theory to what the student is interested as best as possible.

I've been lucky to be able to study music in college and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and graduated from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. I had the benefit of studying with amazing teachers, attending master classes with some of the best players in the world, and playing in groups and with people that have pushed me to continue studying and excel at my instrument.

I currently teach at New Windsor Music Academy in New York and I have several private students that I work with outside of the school. I try to keep lessons fun and informative, so I plan each lesson with structure so that the student can get the most out of our time together. I get the most joy out of watching my students feel elated when they are able to play tunes that they love, understand the theory behind what they are playing, and progress as musicians.
