*** Lesson Details ***
I strongly believe that, if every child would be provided with an ideal environment, would gain extraordinary ability. There are no exceptions. No one can tell how able man is by the nature. What is known is the ability that is spoiled or developed. It cannot be denied that most children speak their native languages beautifully by learning about 3000-4000 words by age 5 or 6. Nothing can clearer demonstrate of the original power of the human mind. Through the years of studying and teaching music I realized that this is the most important concept for developing each kid's talent, to increase his or her ability to the maximum. Therefore I am combining the great methods of teaching violin. The Suzuki method and the Russian school method. Suzuki method helps at the earliest stage of playing an instrument and I am using later Russian school method for more advanced period of studying.

Tigran has helped me to pick up violin after a long hiatus.
He assisted me with establishing my daily practice routine, gave a lot of valuable advice on how to redevelop my technique within the short period of time.
Definitely Tigran is an experienced, supportive and encouraging teacher.

The viola is often overlooked as an instrument because it is usually the middle voice in the orchestra. But the viola has a richness and quality that cannot be duplicated by a violin or a cello. I love the sound of the viola, and also understand how learning the viola is different than learning the violin.
About Barbara
Music is fun! It also can express your feelings in ways words cannot. I don't just teach you how to play your instrument, I will teach you to have a love for your music, and from that, you will find that it is a lot of fun! After all, you do "play" your instrument!
In addition to the violin, viola and theory lessons described below, I am also available to coach ensembles. Any combination of string instruments you are working

About Beth L.
Close
I began teaching violin and viola in 2012. I have enjoyed working with students of varying ages, who thus far have ranged from age 3.5 to adult. Each one of my students is unique, and I appreciate that in each lesson, I can focus on the needs and strengths of that individual student. On my own, I particularly enjoy playing with other people. I often play harmony parts with my students when they have mastered their current piece both to help verify their competency and to acclimate them to playing with others. I regularly play with local community orchestras and sight-read chamber music with fellow musicians. I have greatly enjoyed both teaching music and learning about music pedagogy through the Suzuki Association of the Americas.
About Beth
I have taught private violin and viola lessons since the beginning of 2012. As a member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, I have completed their violin pedagogy courses for Suzuki books one through four. I have played in various local orchestras since high school, including the San Diego Youth Symphony, the Pomona College Orchestra, the San Francisco Civic Symphony, San Francisco Civic Strings, the West Sacramento Community Orchestra, and the Rancho Cordova Civic Light Orchestra. I also play handbells, and currently play with RiverBells Sacramento.

About Melissa D.
CloseI have been playing viola for 20+ years and I adore the sound and feel of the instrument. Playing viola has some unique challenges that make it just a bit more special than some of the other string instruments. I like tailor my lessons to the needs of each student. I like to focus on literature written specifically for the viola with some violin transcriptions. I strive to develop good musicianship, understanding of basic theory and good technique in both hands.
