I trained in classical piano for17 years.

About Rebecca
I specialize in teaching technique. Through the correct, high placement of vowels and deep breath support I can teach my students to have free, powerful and controlled voices. I teach all genres but I specialize in opera. I was an opera singer myself and I particularly enjoy preparing students for applying to schools to be a voice performance major. I have a student now who is applying to all the top music schools.

Rebecca is not only professional and patient but she is an expert at identifying the best vocal exercises to address your specific weaknesses. She would make a perfect teacher for beginners, experienced singers and anyone in between. I've been a student for about 10 lessons and have noticed a big difference!

Although I play many different styles and genres, classical piano is my favorite subject to teach! Your true teachers will be Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven, Rachmaninoff and more. I love searching through the classical repertoire to find the perfect pieces for every skill level. Here are some sample topics we will cover:

--healthy and effortless technique

--memorization/performance skills
--basic scales/chords/arpeggios
--basic musicianship (including ear training, expression, style, performance, etc.)

About Joseph

I have been taking lessons with Candida for a few months. She is the most amazing instructor I have had the privilege of knowing. Her patience and understanding to helping me learn to sing and play the piano is exemplified by the fact that English is not my first language, yet she had never given up on me, even when I felt I could not do it. Her positive attitude and supportive nature made me never want to give up. Learning something new is something everyone should strive to achieve no matter what age you are and Candida is the best instructor if singing is your passion. Thank you Candida for never giving up on me. (Review translated from the Greek to English language).

He had been my piano teacher and mentor for 5+years. Equipped with marvelous knowledge and meticulousness on music and piano performance, he is capable and willing to uphold his professionalism. He is not going to move on until you have mastered certain fundamental musical ideations or techniques. Mr. Brian is not the type of teacher who only talks in theory or with instructions, but he can actually perform what he demands from students. Hence, he is doubtlessly a marvelous piano performer, as well as instructor, where I am certain students can learn a lot from his lessons.

We'll have fun exploring the basics techniques of the piano while working on a dynamic repertoire together. The intention will be to get yourself to the next level of playing.

About Grady
My personal philosophy of music is to explore and learn as much from my students as I can teach them. For me teaching is like going on an adventure to find something together. I've been able to play all over the world and tour with many different musicians and the thing that made the core of every great performance was the human interaction and communication. For me music is about being more human. This is something I just as much try to impart and teach in my lessons as theory and technique. (On a side note I can travel farther than 13 miles as long as it's in the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens or the Bronx).

Grady is so patient with my nearly nine-year-old. Ella really enjoys playing and practicing, even if it is just for a little while. She eagerly anticipates her lessons with Grady and seems to have a fun time. As, she's only started less than two months ago, this is the most interest I've seen her have in anything ongoing. I'm thinking that her first experience with an instrument with Grady will likely lead to a lifetime enjoyment of playing.

I took my first piano lessons at age 5, and continued on to become a professional opera singer with my BA in Music and Italian from Vassar College. Piano is a foundational instrument for anyone interested in pursuing music and it would be my honor to introduce you to the basic techniques and concepts that will allow you to make music on your own!

I especially love to work with children, as watching young people discover music for the first time is one of the most joyful privileges I have ever had. I still have a relationship with my first piano teacher from all those years ago and owe my entire career path to her. Nothing would fulfill me more than being able to offer that same opportunity to the next generation of musicians!

About Madeline
I'm an opera singer who's been making music since before I could talk, and I can't wait to share my love of music with you! I graduated from Vassar College with my BA in Music and Italian in 2016 and recently moved to New York to pursue my career. I have experience teaching Voice, Piano, and Early Childhood music lessons.

I began taking voice lessons at age 11. I had wonderful teachers who taught me classical technique to keep my voice healthy, supported, and controlled. Though I later chose to pursue a career in classical music, I initially was interested in musical theater. I am eternally grateful to my teachers for teaching me to sing classically and I maintain that all voice students should have that same foundation in classical bel canto technique, regardless of their preferred performance genre- good technique can be applied to wh
atever you sing!

In addition to Voice, I teaching beginning piano. I began studying piano long before voice, when I was only five years old. Learning to play the piano is crucial for any aspiring musician and aids in the development of fine motor skills, reading skills, and math skills in young children.

Whatever your skill level and whatever your goals, I would love to work with you to develop your musical skills. I feel confident that we can make some amazing music together!

Experienced teacher, musical director, composer, and accompanist (currently working at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts New Studio on Broadway). I believe that a slow detailed approach to learning anything is vital to its success. Many people will tell you that they can have you playing your favorite song in one lesson but what I offer instead of a "one hit wonder" is a foundation in technique, theory, and musicianship that allows my students to excel and surpass the "one hit wonder." All ages are welcome! I specialize in the beginner and intermediate student. Can't wait to begin this musical journey with you.

About Andrew
Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska I have played the piano since the age of 4. My parents used to tell me that I could stop and start whatever activities I wanted to whether that be playing baseball or participating in karate. The only thing I was not allowed to quit was playing the piano. At first I was not very good, I was not some musical prodigy, in fact some might say I was bad. I didn't like to practice, I just wanted to be able to play. Unfortunately that's not how learning an instrument works. It was not until middle school that I began to appreciate that my parents had made me play the piano because after 6 years I started to improve. This of course was because I started to enjoy what I was doing, and I started practicing more and more.

Eventually I made my way to becoming a singer and a composer but that's a whole other stor
y. I graduated from New York University Tisch School of the Arts with a degree in Musical Theater. While there I was exposed to all different genres and became a respected vocal coach amongst my peers and alumni. I also successfully music directed several shows both at NYU and a children's theater in upstate New York. It is a gift like no other to be able to play any instrument and I am overjoyed to share that gift with all of my students past, present, and future.
