This spring semester started off very stressful, but after getting James to tutor me for my music business class it have been a big relief. My grades started going back up and the biggest accomplishment of them all is that I passed my class with a B+. “Thank god out of all the teachers on takelessons.com I chose him.”

James is very caring and understanding and most definitely knows his stuff when it comes to Music business. He really cares about his student’s and really wants to see them win , even when he’s not on the clock with you at the moment he randomly sends you helpful tips and interesting reading files that can help you along the way to become a success artist. I will most definitely keep him around while I'm on my Musical Journey ! and If I were you I would too.

To play off what Chaz said, I'm a recovering trumpet player who initially tried my hand at the guitar about 5 years ago. Corey quickly figured out that my talent and background were better suited to the bass. There's been no turning back. Corey's a great teacher! He's always patient, he makes you work, and you enjoy the process. I'd give him more than 5 stars if I could!!

Corey is great. Always positive and happy. Great laughs. His system for teaching has gotten me from clumsy beginner to where I have the confidence to play with others and in front of an audience. He teaches relevant information that helps you know how to PLAY.

The instructor was very patient and answered all questions that my 10 yr old son had. It was his first lesson on the saxophone and my son had nothing but positive feedback about his teacher. The instructor did get my son started on the right track. We will be using him again.

"I've been taking lessons with Kim, off and on as finances allowed, for 10+ years. Kim has a brilliant knack for being able to quickly assess what is needed to keep me moving forward in my study of music. We have primarily focused on bass with some guitar thrown in. That speaks to the flexibility and patience that this instructor possesses. She will keep lessons focused and moving forward, challenging me when it's called for, all in a gentle, affirming manner. I cannot speak highly enough about Kim's abilities both as a performing musician or as a music instructor. Nobody could go wrong with Kim as a teacher, she's been great!!"

"good all-around teacher

Aaron is a positive and inspiring instructor. He is very competent on the instrument (and I believe he is well versed in more than just bass guitar) and is a working musician. In my lessons he has attempted to guide me into territory I was unfamiliar with in a way that I can understand. Sometimes that has not been so easy, as with Modes, but he is willing to modify the lessons according to what I have wanted to learn and how easily I can absorb it. If there's something I'm not grasping, he tries to explain it in a different manner and with a little effort on my part, I can comprehend it. He definitely wants his students to learn and have fun, while also making it challenging."

"I started taking lessons from Dustin Newbold my Sophomore year of high school. I took his guitar class and learned the basics then moved on to bass guitar. He went at a pace that was not only easy to learn and memorize, but also seemed more exciting than what I would have thought learning an instrument would be. After the first year of guitar lessons, Mr. Newbold recommended that I move up from guitar class to actually being in the school band. The fact that he took me from knowing nothing about music, to me to joining the school band was an amazing feeling. This opened many doors for me, including a full ride scholarship to college for band and choir. I would highly recommended Mr. Newbold as a Music Instructor."

"I started Bass guitar lessons from Mark about 4 years ago. He is a very talented and patient musician who really pays attention to detail. I have a busy schedule and sometimes I just can't practice as much as I would like to. to make things even harder, I play Left handed. Mark takes the time to go over things with me with out any frustration. I really had no idea what it would be like taking lessons at my age (let's just say I'm way past 50), but I truly look forward to meeting with mark for my weekly lesson. I'm making progress and one of these days I'll be able to say Yes, I can play this bass.
I would recommend any student that wanted to learn to play the Guitar or Bass guitar to Mark. you will not be disappointed."

Learn Bass Guitar: How to Play a Walking Bass Line in 3 Steps

Looking for a way to make your bass lines move? Bass guitar teacher Miller W. shares his three step plan to creating walking bass lines... The walking bass line is one of the most fundamental parts of American music. It is found most commonly in blues and jazz, but as you learn bass guitar, you will hear its influence in almost any style of music. A walking bass line provides a strong rhythmic and harmonic foundation by smoothly moving from each chord to the next using four quarter notes pe …
