Have you always wanted to learn to play piano? You'll learn to read music, play piano from sight, scales, fingering. I specialize in beginners.

About Carol
I have taught voice for over twenty years. I studied music at University of California, Santa Barbara, where I received my B.A. I currently work as a professional singer for various local opera companies, music theater groups, churches and temples. I am principal soprano for Opera A La Carte and have also soloed with Repertory Opera Company, Redlands Bowl Festival, Laguna Beach Chorale and Celestial Opera Company. I have worked extensively in Los Angeles schools performing musical assemblies for students in elementary and middle grades through Southland Opera, LA Opera and Guild Opera of Southern California. My teaching experience includes private voice lessons and master classes at Idyllwild School for the Arts.

*** Lesson Details ***
I emphasize breathing techniques to free up the voice to expand your range and ease of singing. In
the lesson, we start with simple warm ups and vocalizes and then apply techniques to the songs you want to sing. I realize each student is different and I customize the lesson to the student's particular needs. I specialize in classical and music theater, however the basics of singing apply to all styles of music. In addition to working on breathing and technique for singing, we'll also focus on interpretation of the songs you are working on as well as how to overcome performance nervousness. Most students find that they are able to sing with more freedom, less tension and will have more confidence as they progress.

I also teach beginning piano, using the John W. Schaum series.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in the main room, upright piano

*** Travel Equipment ***
They need to provide a piano or keyboard if I am going to their home.
I have a piano in my home.

*** Specialties ***
I work on using the breath as a fundamental technique for singing. Singing should never hurt. I use a lot of imagery to achieve freedom in singing.

I am confident that you will know why my piano studio stands out. There are many teachers who teach piano. However, you will not receive the same results in the same amount of given time. I am confident that I can most effectively provide results for you, and, most importantly, inspire you/your child to enjoy the process throughout the musical journey.

Also, my unique educational background in both piano performance and music education distinguishes me from other teachers. I have learned not only the technical skills to teach students, but also on how to communicate most effectively to students through innovative, fun, and creative teaching ...

Rosa is such a great mentor for piano and music! She is patient, and has a keen sense of where I am at in terms of my understanding and technique. Not only my musical ability to play the piano improved tremendously, my sense of appreciation for music has deepened. The appreciation of music also translated to improving my relationship with others and increasing empathy. Would you like a world-class pianist looking over you to give you insight into her world? Have her as your teacher. If you're lucky, you might just get to experience the tradition that has been handed down from classical giants (she once told me her mentor at Eastman is a 4th generation student in the lineage of Beethovan!).

I started taking lessons with Dr.Lee since June.
Superb teaching, perfect for my skill level and ambition. Dr.Lee rapidly diagnosed the problems I need to solve and has helped me attack them. She doesn't waste a second in her teaching. I am inspired to practice and improve.

Hello! My name is Olivia R. and I am currently a Master's student in Piano Teaching and Performance at CU Boulder.

Teaching piano is something that I love. I have taught for 7 years now in both Nashville, TN (Music City) and Little Rock, AR. My students have ranged from ages 5 to 15. Classical piano is my specialty, but I also enjoy teaching jazz, pop, and ensemble piano. I am currently employed at the Parlando School for the Arts in Boulder and teach there on a weekly basis.

As a music student and teacher, I value the qualities of hard work and excellence while also encouraging my students to never forget that music is fun and inspirational! For me, educating others in music is a way I hope to contribute positively to my local community. Being given the opportunity to share music and inspire those around me through it is a tremendous gift and privilege that I do not take for granted.

About Olivia
Hello!

I am a second year Master's student at CU Boulder studying Piano Teaching and Performance. I previously lived in Nashville, TN (Music City) - obtaining my Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from Belmont University, teaching, and gigging in the city.

I specialize in classical piano, but also teach pop, jazz, and ensemble repertoire. Classical piano lessons (especially for beginners) provide a great foundation for students, even if they decide later on to pursue another musical genre.

My teaching philosophy is that music should be inspiring! I truly believe and have seen first-hand that music lessons have the power to change lives at any age. For me, teaching piano is a way to positively contribute to my local community. I am currently teaching at the Parlando School for the Arts in Boulder and hope to expand my teach
ing studio into the broader community.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or reference requests. I look forward to meeting you!

I can't recommend Olivia highly enough! She did an excellent job with my ants-in-his-pants 7-year-old son. She is extremely patient and knows the trick to motivate each student individually. She figured out what "made my son tick", and taught him from that perspective. One thing I especially appreciated was Olivia's ensemble piano efforts with my son and the rest of the students in her studio. They played such a sweet 8-hand piano piece for a recital. It brought down the house! It is a rare teacher that would be willing to take the time to coordinate 4 students and coach them through a song so that they'd be able to perform on a recital.

My experience with Olivia was been outstanding! While I was completing my undergraduate degree, I hired Olivia to perform a few difficult piano movements I had written. Before that point, I did not have much experience writing for piano, but she had incredible insight into making the music more idiomatic for the piano. Additionally, I received piano lessons from her to supplement my college instruction. She was very very patient and her love for the piano was clear through her instruction. I could not recommend her high enough.

I am a musician of 20+ years that passionately enjoys teaching and helping students new to music in discovering and developing their skills and aptitude for music. I have performed live on many occasions in contemporary and religious settings. I come from a musical family: My father made an album in 1969 with Bob Seger and wrote nearly half of the music on the album. My brother was a part of a musical group that produced songs that made it to a Hollywood movie. I play multiple musical instruments and can help students learn some of their favorite songs based on their level of skill. I teach out of my home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. My goal is to help students develop an interest in music and an appreciation for the history and development of music. It is also my goal to help students develop their skill in music to a place where they can become independent in their growth and exploration of music, music writing, and music performance.

I offer focus areas for students to explore in addition to general piano skill building. This means that after a couple of lessons (depending on the student’s individual progress), half of our lesson time is dedicated to an optional focus area that a student chooses: Piano Composition/Transcription, Music History [with a concentration in Piano History], Music Theory [including aural skill development], and Piano Performance. Lessons are mostly structured around the student’s learning objectives, but once those are established, I communicate my expectations as a facilitator.

About Lauren
Hi! I am a piano teacher and artist from Lutz, FL. My teaching career started in the summer of 2018 when I moved to Atlanta, GA, but I have been creating instructional materials and books for about three years. In Atlanta I have taught students aged 2 to 24. My greatest interest as a teacher is catering to each individual learner's needs. That could mean using my day off to create supplemental materials, research how I can communicate more effectively, invent a musical game to make a lesson more engaging, etc. My investment, however, will also be determined by how much you bring to the table in terms of effort.

Studying Piano may be one of the most reward but equally daunting experiences since piano music covers such a wide range of musical tapestry. My aim is to deliver a concise, easy method, which (step by step) creates a successful beginner pianist that you can feel free to brag about with your friends and family! I teach jazz and classical piano students.

About Cris
Have you been searching through countless online videos in deep interest of learning a new instrument without any luck? Perhaps you need a little bit of guidance while you're slowly becoming the best musical version of yourself. I aim to help any piano student regardless of level to help them become independent of teaching services. As a former Berklee School of Music graduate, and in my struggles of practicing and learning music during high school I know how frustrating it can be to pay for lessons with minimal gains. In general, I aim to teach you to become independent of teachers like me.

I believe that everyone has a musical talent and piano is a great way to express it! I love to teach any kind of music from classical to contemporary for beginner-intermediate students. I love to watch how students improve from lesson to lesson and I enjoy working through their biggest hang-ups with them. If you want to improve your piano playing skills and music theory, then send me a message if this is the match for you!

About Enrique
I am currently a sophomore student at the University of Florida, and I've been playing various instruments like the double bass and mainly piano since my first year of middle school.

I have a passion for drawing out the best in those around me and my time in University has shown me that music can be a wonderful way to relieve stress and express oneself. Piano is a great way to do this!

I prefer a laid-back and flexible environment with an emphasis on the enjoyment of playing music and improving rather than following a strict schedule. If this sounds like a good match, then make sure to send me a message!
