Fay is such an amazing teacher! I got into Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School thanks to her. Best Teacher I've had, she helps train your voice and goes through the vocal anatomy so you understand techniques such as proper breathing, posture, coordination, grounding, acting, diction...etc. I've been her student for about a year three years now and I have to say that my voice has improved so much as a performer all thanks to her! If you get the chance, at least take a class, you will not regret it!

As a graduate of the Juilliard School and having performed worldwide, I want to share how fun, healthy and effective sing is possible with consistence and informed work! No matter your goals, lets build on the skills you already poses and confidence in your own abilities. Let's sing!

The key to great singing is enthusiasm, focus and some hard work. I have worked with students of all ages and my goal is to get you singing the right way and take you from shower diva to confident performer.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME:

As a professional singer and graduate of The Juilliard Sch
ool and working Opera singer, I have had the great fortune of training and performing with some of the best in the business.

With performances at Carnegie Hall and with major orchestras such as the Toronto, Vancouver and Seattle Symphonies and around the world, I feel this gives me a unique perspective on the challenges and successes that are possible with a fun, yet focused and healthy technique based approach. Whether a beginners, intermediate or advanced singers looking to hone your skills in musical theatre classical, jazz and even pop voice.

My goal is a well rounded, relaxed yet supported vocal tone with a focus on breath, and feeling rather than by ear. This ensures that no matter what the repertoire, the situation, or the acoustics of the room, you are always focused on healthy, articulate and projected singing.

Jonathan is very knowledgeable and yet keeps the atmosphere casual. It was fun and full of laughter. I am not a confident singer, but after this lesson (and Jonathan's clear corrections, I was able to sing louder and a higher range than I expected. We sampled about 6 different vocal exercises, and then sang parts from a few well known songs, and the time flew by.
He's a great singing teacher! Thank you so much!

About Leandra
Hi! I'm Leandra :)

I'm from Long Island NY, and I've been singing since the age of 3. I started singing in the choir at my church and after that I fell in love with music.

I started taking private voice lessons at 11 years old and I earned many honors and achievements for my singing. I went on to study at the Long Island High School for the Arts , then went to Berklee College of Music where I studied vocal performance. During my lessons I teach my students how to sing using breath support/control and be confident performers.

I started teaching music in 2010 and have loved it ever since. I have a kind and understanding approach when it comes to my way of teaching.

All I want for my students is to have fun and express themselves!

Amber is a magnificent teacher. She has tons of experience, and can identify problems and resolve concerns instantaneously. She is not forceful and will gladly work in accordance with the preferred pace of the student. Corinne was a wonderful teacher! She was very professional and structured her lessons with clarity and rigor. She gave me detailed feedback and the vocal exercises she recommended were always helpful and tailored to the areas in which I needed to improve. If I didn't get something immediately, she wouldn't give up but lead me through a series of exercises until my vocal tone was satisfactory. No matter how busy or tired she was, she would conduct each lesson with the same amount of attention and energy. She's friendly and understanding, great to talk to and easy to get along with. I definitely recommend her as a teacher!

I am trained as a jazz vocalist, as a recent graduate from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. I focus on vocal health, and finding a repertoire that fits the student's voice. Voice lessons are focused around creating a personalized warm-up and vocal exercise regimen, mixed with ear training and music theory. We then spend the rest of the lesson working on music of the student's choice. I also love teaching students how to improvise if they are interested, and I can also teach songwriting.
I have been teaching for several years now, specializing in beginner students with an interest in jazz, as well as students who want to write and perform their own music.

About Rebecca

Lauren Maxwell is a fantastic teacher, able to really communicate the very essential basics of singing in a healthy and comprehensive way that allows students to build a foundation from the ground up. As a Juilliard-trained principal cellist of an orchestra who had to build up a technique from scratch once already, it was fantastic to see someone who could do the same with a sometimes more difficult instrument, the human voice.

She is a tireless worker to give you specialized attention to your particular needs. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
