I believe that everyone can sing, it is just a matter of learning how to use your own unique instrument. From a very young age, as a performer, I was sharing my love of the arts with others. I grew up with an immense appreciation for the self-expression and creativity that result from all forms of art and music, to me, felt like my ideal way to express myself. Music inspires me and I always knew I wanted to help others connect with their inner musical ability as well.

Serena is originally from the New York City area and has been acting, singing, dancing, and playing piano since she was young. As a teenager, she attended the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan and went on to receive her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. While she was there, she realized her love of teaching when she tutored struggling piano and music theory students.
In Chicago, her credits include: Tony N' Tina's Wedding, Little Women, The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Comedy of Errors, Macbeth, Jersey Shore: The Musical, Jack and the Beanstalk, Theatre of Women 6, Pirates of Penzance, Change the Night Owl, and two solo cabarets: "Should I Be Sweet?" a

*** Lesson Details *** I have a very good balance in my lessons of nurturing the student, but also pushing the student to his or her highest potential. I always remain encouraging and supportive. I spend about a third of the lesson on technique work and I always encourage students to bring in their own material that we can work on as well. You will get excellent vocal and piano technique from me, but you will also learn to have fun and appreciate the ease and relaxation of singing and playing piano.
*** Studio Equipment *** F/w keyboard, seating for parents - main room
*** Travel Equipment *** n/a
*** Specialties *** I specialize in musical theater singing, especially preparation for any auditions (singing or acting) for shows, college auditions, etc. Musical theater is my main passion, but I also focus a lot on pop music. I am especially experienced in introducing newbies to singing or piano.
Serena is great. She is patient but pushes you just enough to see results. She helps you with singing technique as well as with techniques to make the song more genuine and authentic.

When we realized that our daughter Veronica enjoyed singing and showed keen interest in music, we decided to put her through some formal training in vocals. One of our friends referred us to Ms. Denise.
Ms. Denise is an excellent teacher. She taught our daughter vocals for almost two years. Our daughter had the most wonderful time with her. She focuses on strong fundamentals, instills confidence in students and makes the whole experience enjoyable.

It's an amazing feeling when you find someone who is a master at the craft and can teach it too!
Shauna's previous extensive theatre training and instruction is UNDENIABLE. Because of this, she brings much more to the table than the average acting coach.
She made me realize there's SO much more than just breaking down a scene and creating a character. She made me think about where the character is going physically as well as emotionally, and why. I continue to grow and improve with each lesson with her. I'm so lucky to have found Shauna, and strongly recommend her to all actors.

She. Is kind, compassionate and makes you work hard all at the same time to get you to the place you need to be as an artist. Thank you Shauna! ♥️

Shauna is an absolutely incredible voice/acting teacher. She took the time to meet me where I was and encouraged me to be confident in the skills I already possessed. As a dancer, it is often scary to use your voice because it isn’t something we often exercise. Shauna helped me gain incredible knowledge in a new instrument. I was preparing for an important audition and with the tools she gave me I was able to have incredible success on a nearly impossible time constraint! I highly recommend Shauna for all levels :)
I view our voice as the most powerful tool we have. From speaking to singing, our voice is what connects us with those around us. I take a holistic, dynamic, and singer-specific approach that is well grounded in the enduring bel canto technique to enable singers to access the full palette of expressive capabilities in their individual instrument. Whether you are looking to be on Broadway, sing at the Met, improve the clarity and presence of your speaking voice, or just want to sound better in the shower, I can help you access the beauty and power within your own voice, As you learn the many tools professional vocalists use, you will be free to sing in any style at any venue with confidence, and will have a blast doing it!

Greetings! My name is Michael Gray and I am a traveling opera singer and doctoral student at the University of South Carolina in Vocal Performance. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, I promise I will help you develop your voice in a healthy way that best suits your goals as a vocalist. I have been teaching in private studios, college classrooms, and more for over a decade. I've worked with students who simply want to sing at home for leisure and those who wish to perform in front of large crowds. All lessons generally go something like this...
1. Warmups (scales, vowel exercises, even a bit of yoga to engage the body)
2. Technique building (focusing on breathing, laryngeal position, resonance)
3. Application (applying the sensations of the technique building to a song)
4. Performing (once we've worked a bit, it's time to let go and sing!)
If this process sounds like something you would enjoy and would benefit you, I promise to be a patient and devoted instructor
Most recently, Michael performed as Don José in La Tragédie de Carmen and Merlin in Camelot with Charlottesville Opera (VA),Ferrando in Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte with the Florence Symphony Orchestra (SC), and Hyllus in Handel’s Hercules with Oratorio Society of Richmond (VA). Your lessons will have an emphasis on healthy technique that can be applied to any style of singing that you wish to pursue.
All classes are specifically personalized to the students need and goals as a singer. They will have an emphasis on pitch, correct breathing technique for singing, eliminating tension, development of the musculature required to sing high and free, and the dilation of the pharynx to create the voice that you've always wanted.
Anthony has taken years of lessons in styles from classical to musical theatre to pop, has studied under many great teachers and many great programs such as Seth Riggs' very own Speech Level Singing. Through this, Chris has developed a no BS approach to teaching singing that will give you the results you want.
Anthony charges a very reasonable price because his goal in lessons is to share the gift of singing with as many people as possible.
Hi! My name is Anthony but all my friends call me Chris so either one works. I've taken private voice lessons for several years in pop, classical, and musical theatre singing styles, and just want to be able to share the gift of singly freely with everyone. I've sang in musicals, choirs, and with bands.
Lessons will consist of warm-ups to loosen your voice up, technique teaching (which we will use in a song), and exercises to do at home that will build your voice up. I believe in giving my students a good foundation that we can build off of instead of just giving tips and telling my students to "breathe". My goal as a voice teacher is to ingrain good, healthy singing into your muscle memory so that you sing amazingly without even having to think about it.
I'm really excited to get to work with you and I hope to get to know you better
