If you want brass lessons with someone who has performed in front of thousands then you have found the right person. I've played Trumpet, Mellophone, French Horn, and Flugelhorn in multiple groups. If you're looking to improve as a bass musician I can help.

Examples:

Northern Aurora Drum and Bugle Corps
GLDCA Drum and Bugle Corps
Erie Thunderbirds Drum and Bugle Corps
Hanover Lancers Drum and Bugle Corps
Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps
The Baltimore Ravens Marching Band
Multiple community and town bands

About Thomas

I'm able to teach techniques that I've learned over the years. Lets pick up your horn or bugle and get you comfortable with it. The multiple groups I've played with have taught me a lot and I want to be able to pass that along.

As a trumpeter, my skills vary from technique, jazz improvisation, lead trumpet playing, to classical playing. I was a member of the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra in 2018, a jazz band consisting of musicians selected from across the United States. With this band I traveled to Japan and performed in the Monterey Jazz Festival in California. I have also toured Europe on several other occasions playing festivals such as the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Umbria Jazz Festival with the Philadelphia Jazz Orchestra. Here in the States I have played at venues such as Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Birdland, Chris’s Jazz Café in Philly, The Kennedy Center, and more.

About Jonny

I am a current student at William Paterson University studying jazz trumpet and music education. I have been fortunate to study with nationally and internationally acclaimed trumpeters Jeremy Pelt, Joe Mosello, and Nathan Eklund. Additionally, I have studied under the great guitarist Joseph Federic

Jonny Gittings is not only a remarkable and exceptionally talented musician, he is equally skilled in his instruction. My son and daughter have taken trumpet lessons from Jonny for years and he is professional, knowledgeable, and always has a plan and a solution. No matter what may be troubling my kids with their music, their form or their instrument, Jonny always makes them feel at ease and helps them overcome any obstacle. We feel so fortunate to have learned from the best!

"Jordan does a really good job... I would have preferred live lessons, but given location, we had to do online lessons. My son still finds them very helpful, which I think is impressive.

Sometimes I listen in on their session, and what I hear is an instructor who is patient and finds creative ways to teach."

"I have been taking lessons from Phil for almost two years. He is very patient making the student feel comfortable. He is not harshly critical. Just gives good feedback. He is a master of appropriately challenging the student. At times he will play along with me which I find helpful. If I miss a lesson he gives me make up lessons. His rates are more than fair. I highly recommend Phil for trumpet instruction."

"Andrew and I have been friends since my first semester in college. He and I are both Jazz trumpet players, so I was able to make a great connection with him from the start. Andrew is an amazing trumpet player and has knowledge in many different subjects like use of air, range, and lip injury recovery. I have played with Andrew for four years in the Temple Diamond Marching Band and have worked with him as a co-section leader of the trumpet section for two years. I know first hand that Andrew is a great player and a great Teacher! I would recommend him as a teacher to students in a heartbeat and I know that you will not be disappointed with him for trumpet lessons."

"Caleb has been teaching my son trumpet for the past 4 years. He is a very talented teacher who is musically gifted, as well as patient and kind.

Loving music and playing trumpet has enriched my son's life, both socially and emotionally. He is currently first chair in his middle school band and plans to pursue band in high school. His pleasure in playing with his peers and his pride in his accomplishments are wonderful to see. Last year, he played "New York, New York" as part of a three piece band at a school event and in March 2017, he will play the entire score of the Lion King with the pit orchestra for the 8th grade play.

But the best part as a parent is seeing that he often walks around the house humming a random tune under his breath, even when he isn't aware of it. It makes me smile to see him be so happy!

Thank you, Caleb!"
