I specialize in teaching technique. Through the correct, high placement of vowels and deep breath support I can teach my students to have free, powerful and controlled voices. I teach all genres but I specialize in opera. I was an opera singer myself and I particularly enjoy preparing students for applying to schools to be a voice performance major. I have a student now who is applying to all the top music schools.
Rebecca is not only professional and patient but she is an expert at identifying the best vocal exercises to address your specific weaknesses. She would make a perfect teacher for beginners, experienced singers and anyone in between. I've been a student for about 10 lessons and have noticed a big difference!

Rebeca is a terrific teacher, patient and thorough. For a novice such as myself, being lucky enough to have been matched with Rebeca has totally elevated my experience.

Rebecca was was wonderful. She helped me with my technique and was very patient with me. She corrected things I didn't even realize I was doing wrong. She also has a great sense of humor which helped me feel comfortable working with her.
I will break down the nuances of learning the piano in a friendly, clear, and articulate manner. We will discuss various concepts of the acoustic guitar in the styles and songs you enjoy most.
A graduate of the University of Rochester with a B.A. in Music and Psychology and trained at renowned National Guitar Workshop, Adam is an experienced teacher and performer on the guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass in a variety of styles, including rock, pop, jazz, classical, and folk. Adam loves to share his passion for music with others, and ever since his first student, an autistic child, Adam has sought to make learning music fun, regardless of age, style, and ability.
*** Lesson Details *** My approach to teaching music is strictly an individualized one, catering to the specific interests and goals of each student. I believe that if learning music is truly enjoyable and fun, students will develop a sincere love for their instrument. In teaching children, my emphasis is on instilling in them a love of music. While progressing in mus
ic obviously requires preparation outside of lessons, I consciously avoid asking students to practice. Instead, I incorporate the music and styles that appeal most to the student and use them as vehicles for teaching concepts.
I strive to make learning music fun, regardless of age, style, and ability. I organize an annual recital to showcase my students' talents and hard work.
*** Travel Equipment *** I will provide all music and instructional materials, and ask that students provide a clean, quiet area to hold our lesson, ideally with a music stand. I also ask that a student provide their own instrument. If providing an instrument is not possible, I ask that the student notify me so I can provide an instrument for them in the interim.
*** Specialties *** I specialize in a wide range of styles on the acoustic and electric guitar, piano, ukulele, and bass.
I explain music theory in a fun, clear, and articulate manner and show its benefits and application in song writing, learning music, and playing by ear. My extensive background in rock, classical, pop, folk, and jazz allows for a truly cater my instruction to my student's tastes.
I make it my mission to structure my lessons on my student's goals and interests and avoid imposing concepts that don't interest my students.
Adam is a teacher par excellence. I am self taught from a well known book. I was doing well I thought until I got stuck. Adam gently showed me where I erred and made great suggestions for me to move on correctly. I never felt rushed or “ put down.” Adam was patient, open for questions, encouraging, comforting. I know I need much help to correct and advance in guitar from matters such as tuning, restringing, reading, and other things too many to write about. I look forward to my next lesson with enthusiasm.

Adam is prompt, professional and patient. He allows you to learn at your own pace and makes lessons fun by teaching popular songs.
I've been teaching piano for more than 15 years. My teaching philosophy is based on emphasizing individuality of each student. I teach students ages 5 through adult, and try to find a way to make it interesting, exciting, intellectually stimulating and rewarding for each individual. Within first few lessons a student will be able to play simple tunes with both hands. I start with Dozen a Day books and continue with scales, arpeggio, chord progressions as well as etudes for technique development. I use Celebrate Piano Books and supplement with different sight reading material to teach note recognition, musicianship, music theory and sight reading. I also use Suzuki books and various repertoire books including Russian method books in my lessons. I prepare students for annual MEA auditions, recitals and competitions.
A native of St. Petersburg, Russia, Ms Luba S. started playing piano at the age of 6 and continued her musical studies at Mussorgsky School of Music and later at St. Petersburg State Conservatory. Her concert appearances in Russia included performances with orchestra and solo recitals at St. Petersburg State Capella, Philharmonic Hall, and Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory Hall.
Upon moving to the United States in 1989, she worked as a vocal accompanist at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music while pursuing her BS degree in Computer Science. From 1996 she participated in the series of Master Classes at International Summer Festivals such as Holland Music Sessions, Nice Festival Academy, studying with Boris Berman, Brigitte Engerer, Menahem Pressler and performing in the frame of above mentioned festivals.
Luba made her Weil Recital
Hall debut with the Zephyr Duo as a prize winner in the Artists International Competition. Both as a solo artist and chamber musician, she has performed throughout the Metropolitan New York area in venues such as Trinity Church, Mannes and Manhattan Schools of Music, the Connell Library, Drew University, Watchung Art Center, Summit Presbyterian Church, Atlantic Highlands Chamber Music Series and others. Her performances also included appearances at Lacawac Sanctuary, Lake Ariel, PA, Solstice Festival at Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Benefit concerts for New Sussex Symphony, Bucks County Symphony and NJ Symphony orchestras, as well as chamber music recitals at Livingston Music Club, Women's Club in Glen Ridge, Temple University.
Ms. S. currently maintains a private piano studio. She is an active member of Music Educators Association of New Jersey and sits annually on a panel of judges for the association.
I believe that learning to play an instrument should be an integral part of every child's education. Music enriches emotional and intellectual development, provides a source of joy and fulfillment. My teaching philosophy is based on emphasizing individuality of each student. I teach students ages 5 through adult, and try to find a way to make it interesting, exciting, intellectually stimulating and rewarding for each individual.
- I incorporate elements of Suzuki method into my teaching for young beginners combining it with traditional Russian school methods and various others depending on student's needs.
- I believe in providing strong technical basis for piano playing and teach my students skills and tools to make practicing on their own efficient.
- I include music theory, ear-training, and elements of music history into my piano lessons
- I prepare my students to participate in annual MEA auditions, as well as recitals and competitions. I am an enthusiastic and devoted teacher who loves sharing my knowledge and creates an environment in which a student can learn and grow.
As an adult beginner student, I was a bit nervous about starting lessons past childhood. However, I enjoyed playing the few tunes I did know and decided to begin lessons with Luba because of the other outstanding reviews she has online. I am very delighted to say that these are all very true, and I could not have been happier with my experience.
From the first lesson, Luba quickly identified my strengths and weaknesses and was able to provide just the right personalized guidance for me to expand my abilities. That first lesson left me with so much more than I had come in with that I was amazed at how manageable Luba was able to make the piano. Enthusiastically, I practiced the pieces at home. At the studio with Luba, I discovered just how talented of a player and teacher she is. Without even looking at me, she identified the things I was having trouble with in every piece. Her playing reinforced my knowledge of the pieces. I particularly enjoyed how she emphasized the musical quality and "feel" of each piece, rather than just the technicalities of the sheet music.
Unfortunately, I had to end my lessons after six months because I was moving out of the state. In such a short amount of time, though, I can now read sheet music at a reasonable pace, understand basic music theory, and most importantly know how to practice. All of these I can only attribute to Luba. She has transformed a mildly interesting instrument into one of my most beloved lifelong hobbies.

It is with great pleasure and with no reservations whatsoever, that I can recommend Luba as a piano teacher for both children and adults. Although her curricula vitae speaks for itself in terms of her qualifications and experience, it is the personal qualities of a teacher that are of the utmost importance in developing a student/teacher relationship that brings out the fullest potential and desire to learn of the student. Luba's warm and kind demeanor belies her exacting requirements of her students. As a pianist who has attended Luba’s student recitals, I am always impressed to see how well-prepared and confidently they perform. Even the beginners play with beautiful phrasing and musicality. One can tell they have studied with a teacher who has worked hard to impart a strong sense of organic expression that music, performed with care and understanding, can evoke. As a concert pianist, Luba understands well the difficulties, both physically and psychologically of performance and is most supportive of the goals of her students. She is also interesting and caring and uses her sense of humour to entice her students to keep working through the difficult times, and keep coming back for lessons.
Colleague and professional freelance accompanist.

"Mrs. Luba" has come to be one of the most positive role models in our daughter's life. Over the last two years, Luba has instilled in our daughter (now aged 8) a deep appreciation and love for music and an understanding of the importance of setting goals.
In addition to her obvious rich musical knowledge, Luba is enthusiastic, caring, warm and understands how to teach. She has worked with my daughter on troublesome topics and knows when and how to challenge her. She makes each and every lesson fun while creating a real sense of accomplishment. Rather than simply plow through songs, Luba also works with her on piano technique and music fundamentals that will hasten her development, particularly as she advances. Finally, Luba is always extremely accommodating and cognizant of our hectic schedule. Our daughter recently scored "Outstanding" in the 2014 Music Educators Association Annual Audition, thanks in no small measure to Luba.
We are absolutely thrilled to have found Luba for our daughter's piano instruction and hope to continue our long relationship together.
I recently graduated from The Juilliard School with a BMA in Piano Performance, having studied with legendary pedagogue and Chair of Piano Dr. Veda Kaplinsky, and fabled concert pianist Hung-Kuan Chen, whose students also include the likes of Yuja Wang and Sean Chen. I've traveled the musical world and studied with several of the world's most sought after pianists, including András Schiff, Richard Goode, Ari Vardi, and Sergei Babayan, mentor of international piano star Daniil Trifonov, as one of eight students worldwide accepted to his final Babayan International Piano Academy. I've performed with the Seattle Symphony amongst various other orchestras in Europe and China, and perform regularly as a soloist in the greater NYC area and Seattle at venues including Carnegie Hall. Since beginning my teaching career, I've looked forward to sharing my knowledge with young students in order to nurture their artistic talents and unique musical sense. Students will be able to perceive piano not ...
Most recently, I was sponsored as one of eight pianists worldwide to attend the prestigious Verbier Festival Academy in Switzerland, summer of 2018. I was the sole American and Juilliard pianist to receive the honor.
I am a graduate of The Juilliard School in New York City where I earned a Bachelors of Music, and studied with the Susan W. Rose Chair of Piano Department, Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky and legendary concert pianist, Hung-Kuan Chen; my history with the institution dates back to Juilliard Pre-College, where I graduated as a Juilliard Scholarship recipient. In addition to my formal musical education in classical piano, I'm also a graduate of the Lakeside School in Seattle, a highly selective, college preparatory school offering a rigorous academic program; notable alumni include Bill Gates, Paul Allen and the McCaw brothers. I am w
ell-versed and fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
I am well accustomed to working with young children, adolescents and teenagers along with the elderly in retirement homes, and hope to nurture and instill in each of my students a genuine, individualized passion for music, along with imparting to each student all the knowledge I've attained in 19 years of musical experience off and on stage, playing at the highest caliber of competition in the world's most acclaimed venues and studying with some of the world's most sought after pedagogues. Furthermore, my goal is to accelerate the learning curve and to bestow all I know as quickly as possible, not wasting time on useless irrelevancies. I've taught many years privately in the greater Seattle area, as a private teacher at the Aspen Music Festival and as a private teacher serving the NYC area since 2015. My students have won regional and international competitions for young people, have performed at prestigious venues such as Benaroya Hall, Alice Tully @ Lincoln Center, the Kauffman Center, Foundation LV in Paris, and Carnegie Hall, and have been admitted to Pre-College institutions at Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music.
Max is an amazing instructor and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to seriously learn and enjoy the piano. Before I began my lessons with Max, I was stuck on the same piece for two months, there was very little progress being made. I had a total of two lessons with Max and now I'm able to comfortably play the piece from memory. I cannot stress enough how beneficial he was in my huge progress jump. I look forward to every lesson knowing I'm going to learn and be exposed to something new every time. I've always wanted to learn how to play the piano, but I thought I was too old now to even try. I'm so thankful that I took the leap anyway and started this amazing journey of learning the piano and I couldn't of asked for a better guide than Max on this journey.

It’s very involved with you as a student. It’s also very apparent that he loves teaching his students. This makes his teaching very effective.

He is a very promising Juilliard student.
His teaching reflects being educated by the world’s most sought after classical piano mentors.
What he teaches is unorthodox and complex in nature, but he teaches and demonstrates effectively in an easily comprehensive manner.
I believe that learning his skills will have a tremendous impact on my child’s future in both music and life.
I strongly recommend him to anyone who cannot be satisfied with other instructors.
PS: He works well to encourage and nurture youth, as my sons are 6 and 9 years old.
Experienced and patient piano teacher for students at all ages. Lessons are personalized for each student based on their goals ranging from classical to jazz and pop. I am an orchestral conducting Masters graduate from Mannes College of Music who has been playing piano since the age of 4. I have been teaching beginner and intermediate piano for the past 5 years to students ranging from ages 7 - 65. I teach all types of styles ranging from classical to jazz to pop with everything in-between.
My students can expect to develop a strong and reliable technique while being able to express their musical ideas with a clear and dynamic level of sophistication. It's the stories and emotions that draw people to music, so I do my best to base my teachings around that concept.

My goal is not only to meet student's expectations but also keep them excited and motivated. We usually talk and discuss their desired repertoire in the first lesson. It can be substantial piece, a song or some classical work that they like but might be difficult for them. I can give them all the tips to reach their goals and be able to learn what they love!

"Mr. MC is an excellent instructor. He always takes into account students' background and interests in order to develop meaningful lessons. He explains and
presents new music material clearly, and always models in order to facilitate learning. He also monitors progress continuously and provides feedback on students' performance. One of the best instructors I have had the pleasure to work with."
"Jon is an excellent teacher. I am at an intermediate level and am eager to improve my skills through harder pieces. Jon makes piano playing fun, while a
t the same time being serious about my success. It is easy to be relaxed during the lessons, he is non-judgmental and encouraging. I highly recommend Jon!"
"I’ve never played an instrument before. In the year and a half that I took lessons, with Clarissa’s teaching I was able to proficiently play a few complex
pieces I was interested in. Additionally, she also helped me study for the Certificate of Merit exam. While I wasn’t able to take the exam due to a family emergency, I’m confident that I would have passed the exam had I taken it. Clarissa also offered many other opportunities beyond lessons such as recitals, group lessons, and master classes (group lessons with an expert guest teacher). All of these opportunities pushed me outside of my comfort zone but greatly enhanced my reading and playing abilities. Clarissa does lessons for younger students as well as adults. Her attention to detail was combined with a wealth of patience and understanding, and as a result my lessons were always enjoyable and it never felt like a chore or that I was being lectured or talked down to. I would highly recommend Clarissa for anyone looking to learn piano."
"Vyacheslav, or Slava for those who are fortunate and privileged enough to be his acquaintance, is perhaps one of the most compassionate, ingenious, and ma
sterful musician who has an immense gift of music with a rich and thorough tradition as his educational upbringing. Anyone who takes a lesson with him should consider oneself lucky. His mastery of technical ability and teaching skills, as well as his ability to invoke the entire orchestra out of the piano, is second to none."
"Sylvia is doing a great job with my 5 year old son. She is patient but no nonsense in her approach. She is very good at breaking the concepts down to a
child's level. She has been coming to my home to give the lessons and is always on time. She has been flexible when I have needed to move the appointment time. We are quite pleased."
"I had never taken music lessons before and was a bit skeptical about starting out with online classes. After working with Fawn, my concerns were soon disp
elled. I receive the same detail of teaching one would expect in any lesson. Fawn tailors the lessons to my learning style and level. A huge advantage is, I am learning from the comfort of my own home with one of the best music coaches in the world!"
"My son (7yr) has been taking piano lessons from Ms. Natasha for 1 1/2 years. Natasha is a great teacher. She is very patient and encouraging with kids. Ea
ch week we come away with a feeling of great accomplishment but also another new challenge to tackle."
"Mr Lo Is great and he has great technique.
He spent time working with my daughter hand position.
My daughter likes taking lesson with him."
"Ivan is a great teacher who knows how to interact and teach kids in a way which makes them excited to play piano. Before Ivan was my teacher I didn’t real
ly have an interest in piano but as he came along he helped me develop a urge to be better in piano. Ivan also has patience with kids and helps them learn how to get the right notes and memorize the songs effectively. Ivan didn’t just teach me how to memorize songs he taught me how to read the notes and be able to play the piano without memorizing notes on a sheet of paper. He is a great mentor and a better person"
