I found Zach through 'take lessons' after my daughter had a few years with an intense classical pianist. I want my daughter to have fun and appreciate music and not feel the intense pressure she was feeling with our previous instructor. Zach was the perfect choice. My daughter loves her lessons. Zach does take time off for his professional endevors. Good for him. He has always let us know and connected with us when he returns.

With 20 years of broadway singing and a focus in it throughout her career, Liz loves sharing her vocal training with her students, and this is one of her favorite subjects to teach!

About Liz
After graduating California Institute of the Arts with a multi-focus on several aspects of music including African dance, Indonesian gamelan, songwriting, recording, classical voice and piano, folk guitar, and more, Liz had the excellent opportunity to teach theater to a local musical theater summer youth program. All summer, she taught class sizes ranging from 10 to 26 students of the ages 5-10. Her initiative later led to being hired at this local community theater. Along with this theater teaching experience, she has been teaching piano, guitar, ukulele, flute & voice lessons for over 10 years. Her students have gone from knowing nothing about music to learning and performing entire pieces on their own as well as even auditioning & for agents and becoming signed artists in Los Angeles. Liz knows that it is her place in the world to tea
ch music & spread positivity through her own music and would love nothing more than make learning music a positive and fun experience for everyone.

*** Lesson Details ***
I teach out of the Alfred's Piano course, but am open to trying out any music books you may already have in your home. I do expect my students to purchase the books they would like to learn out of and to have the material I have given them for homework ready, completed, and practiced by the time we have our weekly lesson. I recommend at least twenty to thirty minutes of practice every day, and will give rewards for having practiced well, and for performing well in our lessons. I would love it for my students to be clear on what they would like to learn, and I love using songs that the student enjoys to make his or her music learning process fun.

*** Studio Equipment ***
In my home studio, I have a full size Cable-Nelson upright piano, as well as two ukuleles, and two guitars (one acoustic-electric and one electric).

*** Travel Equipment ***
When I travel, I bring my own instrument that the student is learning on so that I can demonstrate, as well as a music stand if necessary.

*** Specialties ***
Pop, folk, opera, musical theater, classical, rock, reggae

This was my first private lesson with Dr. Daniel, most importantly he made me feel very comfortable and I wasn't afraid to sing notes in front of him. Dr.Daniel took the time to gather my history and take notes about what I said. Dr. Daniel was very thorough for our first visit, even though I had only booked my first class to be 30 minutes. The key to great singing is enthusiasm, focus and some hard work. I have worked with students of all ages and my goal is to get you singing the right way and take you from shower diva to confident performer.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME:

As a professional singer and graduate of The Juilliard Sch

I am an experienced singing teacher of two years, (with assistant training for 6 years prior) who specializes in healthy belting and resonance. I am a professional musical theatre performer, and have a unique perspective on auditions etc. I like to cultivate a positive, encouraging atmosphere in our lessons, while still pushing you to be the best that you can be. No matter what your vocal struggles are, I can help. Message me to see what I can do for you!

About Alyssa
I'm a singer and actress from Raleigh, North Carolina. I have extensive experience in the theatre world including assistant teaching, musical directing, assistant directing and interning. I have received numerous vocal awards over the years, from organazations such as NATS and Hal Leonard. In addition, I have been cast in many professional shows, and training programs. Let me know if you'd like to see a copy of my resume.

When studying with me, a student can expect to feel heard and understood. I can work with any vocal issue, including tension, breathing, resonance, etc. While my specialty is healthing belting, I also have a history of classical training, which I use when teaching legit musical theatre styles. I am still in the industry, and so have a finger on the pulse of what directors, casting agents and studios are looking for.

In
addition to musical theatre, I also teach pop, jazz and worship styles. Each voice is unique and beautiful, and I will work with you to become the best (and healthiest) that you can be while still staying true to your natural sound.

Whether you are at a professional level, or just looking to have some fun, I would love to work with you. As your teacher, I can create a customized warm-up track for your voice, which will help you improve daily. This can be used throughout the week to practice. Upon request, I can also send a weekly "homework" packet with a written summary of our lesson that day. On the other hand, if you are looking for a more relaxed approach, I can do that as well. Whether you want to be pushed or start slow, I'll be right there with you.

With over 15 years experience singing, I specialize in teaching beginner and intermediate students. Lessons involve learning proper breathing technique, enunciation, and strengthening the voice so that students can sing more freely. I can also help with sight-singing. My additional background in theatre means lessons include tips for how to perform the song most powerfully; whether it be a musical theatre piece or a country piece, each song tells a story. I teach many genres of music, and believe the confidence gained from honing your natural singing abilities can be beneficial in every aspect of life (not just music).

About Alexis
Though a bit shy by nature, I have always loved the stage and fine arts. In 2013 I graduated with my Bachelors in Music, emphasis in Musical Theatre, from Ouachita Baptist University. While there, I studied privately with Ms. Suzetta Glenn (voice) with repertoire including art songs, arias, and musical theatre pieces. I also had the chance to study and work with several theatre faculty, including the then Dean of the School of Fine Arts, Dr. Scott Holsclaw, both in class and during theatrical productions. I participated in several choirs while at OBU including Ouachita Sounds (2010-2011), and Ouachita Singers (2011-2013), and even had the opportunity to serve my school in the highly coveted role of Tiger Tunes Hostess in the Fall of 2011. Since college, I have been involved with my church’s praise team, and have volunteered with the youth
praise team assisting in the area of vocals. In October of 2017, after a location-induced hiatus from the theatre, I had the chance to return to the stage for a community theatre production of Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward, in which I played Elvira.

Lessons with me will focus on proper breathing technique, strengthening the voice, and performance techniques. I teach many styles of music, including musical theatre, pop, country, worship, jazz, classical, and choral. I'd love to help you reach your vocal goals!
