I love teaching violin and viola, and have been doing it for over 10 years. I believe private lessons are an essential component to successful musical development and growth. It is my hope that my students develop the tools they need to become independent musicians. I strive to create an atmosphere that fosters not only growth in technique, but in character, personal discipline, and a long-term appreciation for music.
I am an active performer, and play violin and viola with the Atlanta Ballet and Atlanta Pops Orchestras, among others. I hold a dual-Masters degree (MM/MA) in Violin Performance and String Pedagogy from Ohio State, a Graduate Performance Diploma from the Longy School of Music, and a Bachelors in Music Education from the University of Georgia.

There is a potential in every person to be truly great at any one thing. All it takes is hard work and honest determination, with determination being the most important. Because where determination comes, hard work follows naturally.
I hope to inspire my students to really love making music and being creative with their instruments. I can give my students all the information in the world and tips on how to improve at violin playing, but in the end it will not matter if the student has no desire to improve. And that is why I love to teach- inspiring students to love what they do!

Abigail Tsai received a Bachelors of Music from the Eastman School of Music, where she was awarded a Performer's Certificate. At Eastman she studied with Professor Oleh Krysa. She is currently pursuing her M.M. in violin performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Ilya Ka

Pedagogy is one of the few and rare professions that requires true vocation and conviction. I believe that teaching comes from sharing and I love to help each and every one of my students develop their own gift and understanding of music. This year marks the beginning of my 11th year of teaching and I am fascinated and humbled by everything that I have learned from all of my students!
Learning to play an instrument is a formative, fun and inclusive process for both teacher and student. I enjoy seeing my pupils progress and ultimately, finding their voice and telling their own story through music. My objective as a docent is to inspire students to develop high intrapersonal intelligence so that they may become their own best teacher.
It is my hope that my students will acquire tools that will not only help them become better musicians but that will also assist them in other areas of their lives.
The student will learn healthy ways of approaching the instrument. I guarantee the

This instructor is very flexible and understanding. He is very knowledgeable and talented and I'm very privileged to be his student. He takes his time to make sure that you are understanding and learning. You can sense his excitement and passion for music and I know that he honestly wants to see me succeed. I even decided to switch instruments after a few lessons and he was very supportive and started all over with me without and objections or irritation!"

It's evident she cares for her students....very patient with my daughter, my daughter has been under her care for about two yrs now, even sparking her interest to play another string instrument!
I cannot say how appreciative our family is of Ms. Heins and would certainly recommend her."
