In my piano lessons, we focus on reading music and theory, while playing songs tailored to the student's interest and working on correct posture and technique.
Everyone has a beautiful voice. Let me teach you how to make it heard.
My passion for music is the most pervasive quality of my personality. Consequently, passing that passion on to others is what brings me the most joy in life. My goal is to spread the love and appreciation for this unique and transcending art form through guidance, performance, and instruction. As my student, you will receive exactly what you (or your child) want out of the lessons-you are the one controlling what you want from them (be it any style of music, professional track or just for fun, music theory, and performance) and I am there to provide it. Music is nothing short of extremely fun and completely liberating.
I have always loved to sing and play guitar and piano starting from a young age, and I never gave up my determination and passion for perfor
ming. In middle and high school I did many musicals (Jekyll and Hyde, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver, Miss Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, Footloose, Kiss Me Kate, and Cats) and sang in the choir (including the California All State Honor Choir and Jazz Choir). I played guitar in the school Jazz Band and participated in many jam sessions out of school. I also participated in many piano competitions, including ones for my own composition (I received an honorable mention for one of my own piano works). In college, I received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Redlands. I have recently completed my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands. I have performed many opera roles including Suor Angelica in Puccini's Suor Angelica, Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata, the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, and Najade in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos. I was also in the University Chapel Singers Choir, Madrigals Choir, and Treblemakers a Capella Jazz choir. I currently reside in Germany where I am teaching online lessons to students all over the world, teaching English, and pursuing an opera career. So far I have sung the role of the Queen of the Night in Weimar, Germany and have done a few concerts singing Christine from the Phantom of the Opera.
"Hard work beats talent if talent does not work hard." This is my favorite quote. I truly believe that hard work will take you anywhere, no matter where your starting point is. With hard work and determination, you can be anything you want to be. With motivation, anyone can be a beautiful singer, guitarist, and pianist. If I did not believe this with all my heart, I would not be where I am today. To me, every student has great potential. It is my job and joy to bring out that potential and cultivate it into talent, love, and passion.
My lessons are fun and rewarding. I do not believe that a critical environment is one that is healthy or pleasant to learn in. Therefore, I am a very encouraging, patient, and supportive teacher, and I will praise you for your improvements, as well as help you correct your difficulties. I like to think of my lessons as a team effort, with more emphasis on working together and having fun. With that being said, I believe that you get what you put in out of our lessons. The more you practice and the more you show me determination and motivation, the more we can have fun, improve technique, and really make music in our lessons.
I customize each lesson to my student, so you tell me what you want to sing or play and what your goals as a musician are, and I will instruct you (or your child) in the exact way that fits your goals and interests. After a couple months with me, you will have a new found passion for music, knowledge of proper technique, reading and diction, and the skills to perform and communicate pieces of music. Most importantly, you will have the time of your life!
My voice lessons consist of vocal warm-ups where you learn proper technique and posture, breathing exercises to expand your diaphragm and support when you sing, and Repertoire work where you apply the technique you learned, practice performance skills, and learn diction of English, Italian, German, Hebrew, or French.
My guitar and piano lessons start with learning how to read music (if you do not know already) and being familiar with the keys or frets and the notes on the staff. Then we work on pieces of music, paying attention to the key factors of musicianship including rhythm, interpretation, dynamics, composition, musicality, and performance practice. My music theory lessons are based on whatever the student wants to learn or needs instruction on. I teach anywhere from basic music notation to advanced harmonic and formal analysis.
My speaking and lessons are similar to my voice lessons, minus the singing aspect-the same technique we use for singing is the technique we must use for speaking if we want to be heard, be healthy, and not get tired or worse - lose our voice. We work on breathing and projection techniques and then practice on a reading sample or presentation.
My acting lessons consist of different improv-acting games, projection techniques, and monologue and role studies. You will learn how to communicate a message to the audience clearly and effectively while having a wonderful time!
My language and tutoring classes are focused on fluency-getting comfortable speaking in the target language. We go through chapters of a lesson plan I created myself-learning vocabulary and grammar by learning the functions of them and completing speaking goals. After just a few lessons, you will find that you will be able to converse in your target language. Your individual pace is the most important to me, so we learn at the speed that you are the most comfortable with.
All I expect from you is to bring a pencil, a good attitude, and the willingness to practice and work hard in our lessons, and I will supply the rest! Looking forward to hearing your beautiful music or voice!
Learn proper technique, how to read sheet music, how to play scales and chords, music theory, and more!
Justin W. is a professional performer, composer, and educator based in Rockledge, Florida. Justin received his Bachelor of Music Performance in Voice from the University of North Florida and his Master of Music in Choral Conducting at the University of Louisville. He has performed alongside the Louisville Chamber Choir, Louisville Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and Brevard Symphony Orchestra, and has toured internationally with the prestigious University of Louisville Cardinal Singers under the direction of Dr. Kent Hatteberg.
Justin is the quintessential professional in every way. His approach is to make you a better student of music not necessarily just learn guitar. He is patient with you and very positive and reinforcing. The passion he has for music is obvious from the first time you meet him. As with any good manager, just by the way he teaches, makes you want to be a better student.
Whether a beginner or an advanced student, I can help guide you through the keys and help you get on your way to becoming a up and running pianist! Been playing for about 11 years and teaching for 4 and I enjoy what I do.
Currently a student pursuing a Master of Music in Chamber Music at the University of South Florida. An experienced Musician/Pianist with a comprehensive background in performance. More than 10 years experience as a soloist and a collaborative pianist in a variety of ensembles. Proficient in sight-reading new pieces from start to finish with a high degree of accuracy and at tempo.
Wonderful teacher, very patient with new comers, and has an awesome sense of humour ! I learnt so much from how to read and play as well as techniques of how to practise on my own. You will not be disappointed at all :) !
I focus on the fundamentals (technique, sightreading, playing by ear) to prepare all my students to tackle any pieces they want, whether it's classical, pop, jazz, ragtime.
I enjoy sharing my love of music by helping others embark on their musical journeys. I am a strong supporter of using a combination of aural training and sightreading to boost musicality and finesse.
In the past 6 years, I have taught students of all ages, ranging from children to seniors. You are never ever too old to learn the piano. You may not be the next Chopin, but with practice and dedication, you will eventually be able to play the mass majority of piano repertoire.
Strong fundamentals (scales/chords/arpeggios) are important, but I also remember to make music fun and not boring by providing diverse selections of supplemental (pop/ragtime/blues) pieces.
I believe all the most important musical skills can be developed across all genres. My goal is to develop rhythmic, harmonic, and technical fundamentals that will unlock a wide range of repertoire and help a student play all of their favorite pieces. I like to keep it interesting and encourage playing in many different styles, as well as focusing on listening, improvisation, and writing. This well-rounded approach helped me develop as a young musician and I hope to bring that to my students as well!
I'm originally from Columbus and started out on piano when I was 8. I also sing and play trumpet and euphonium, and have dabbled in guitar and bass as well. I particularly enjoy writing and arranging, and I studied composition at University of Miami. I have a passion for teaching and the bulk of my experience actually comes in SAT, ACT, and math tutoring. I believe a musical education enhances those subject areas (and vice versa) and I take the same approach of finding an individualized method to help my student meet their goals. Outside of music and teaching, I enjoy running, tennis and cooking.
I've studied music academically as well as in the Jazz clubs under excellent musicians. I'm trained in both classical and jazz. I find the best way to learn music is through enjoyment and finding a true connection between the artist and their instrument. Whether my students want to learn how to improvise, read music, or have in-depth explanations of theory, I can teach all these subjects in a plethora of ways to ensure they learn fast.
Hello everyone, my name is Brandon.
I've been a music and English teacher since 2010. I specialize in both classical and jazz. I've also been a professional jazz pianist, having performed in over 15 countries. I am able to teach improvisation, how to read and write music, and everything about music theory. Most importantly, I make my lessons a lot of fun.
With ten years of teaching experience, I’ve learned which skills to emphasize most for beginners to become lifelong, independent musicians. A focus on music literacy and love of the instrument has my students reading (and PLAYING) in no time! Each lesson is tailored to individual goals and interests, and I take a creative approach with everything we do!
Vanessa Christian is a soprano, music instructor and teaching artist living in Minneapolis, MN. Growing up in a tiny town on the Canadian border, Vanessa immersed herself in all things music from a very young age, falling in love with everything from Alanis Morissette to Les Miserables to Rachmaninoff, and everything in between. She is excited to pass on her passion for all things musical to her students.
Vanessa has a vocal music degree from Bemidji State University, with continued graduate work in opera, musical theatre, and modern American music at Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge, MA. Other creative and scholastic pursuits have led her to places like New York, Italy, and Berlin, performing contemporary and classical opera, musical theatre, and choral works in nine different countries by the age of 30.
in teaching practical piano to aspiring singers has caused Vanessa to examine what skills are necessary for anyone to become a self-sufficient, life-long musician. Whether you’re learning as a hobby or in hopes of a future career, music literacy and expression are at the top of the list. Miss Vanessa emphasizes both from the very beginning with motivating joy and a creative approach.
Equally comfortable with children and adults from complete beginners to early advanced levels, Vanessa teaches piano, voice, and combined piano and voice lessons. She feels so grateful to be a part of her students’ musical journey!

I am a professional vocalist, pianist, and guitarist.
Having played many lead roles including Princess Jasmine, Mrs. Lovett, and Peter Pan (to name a few) in my musical theatre journey, I want to teach my students how they can do the same by getting the lead role in their next audition!
Not only have I performed in lead roles, I have also lead worship at several churches, accompanying myself on the acoustic guitar and/or piano/keyboard.
I enjoy playing an array of other instruments as well including the violin, ukulele, mandolin, flute, saxophone, djembe, and whatever else I can get my hands on. (I love music!)
I have sung in Carnegie Hall, and have toured South Africa on a musical service learning opportunity with the elite choir at Mississippi College, Singers. I have performed on stage longer than I can remember, and am
the third generation of piano teachers in my family.
In my classroom (whether online or in-person), students can expect a comfortable and encouraging atmosphere in their lessons where mistakes can be had, but corrections will be made in both a respectful and caring way. I am here to encourage and correct, not to criticize.
All lessons begin with music theory training. Whether you are learning to sing, play the piano or guitar, music theory is the foundation of learning to play all music. The lesson will then go into the lesson curriculum I require for the specific instrument, and will then continue to the student’s performance pieces. Piano lessons have an added bonus at each lesson which includes a time of improvisation with the teacher!
I look forward to teaching and encouraging you along your musical journey that you are sure to love!
Maria is amazing on all levels. She is professional and builds a friendship with your children. Her faith and talent are a 10. I wish we could have kept her in south Mississippi but we know we had to let her go.

Maria is an amazing teacher who puts a lot of emphasis on building correct vocal technique and making sure singers are using their voice properly and not damaging their voice. She has been trained by the best teachers and has quite an extensive resume with performances in Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York. As well as touring South Africa. She builds on what she has learned and shares that knowledge with her students. I highly recommend Maria!!!

My granddaughter just loved Maria, she really connected with her quickly. Maria has a great personality. She is very passionate and really enjoys teaching.
"Tamari Witkin is not only an incredible musician, but is one of only a few teachers who is deeply committed to making sure that any student she takes unde
r her wing will fledge comfortably and competently. Tamari has a keen sense of exactly what is needed to help a particular student overcome a particular pianistic impediment to learning to play the piano. Moreover, she brims with such enthusiasm that it all becomes so much fun studying with her that one cannot help but feel like and sound like they are becoming a pianist. I highly recommend anyone at any level of piano playing to study with Tamari, NOW!!!!"
"Sabrina has already-- in my first lesson-- given me many helpful ideas. She's also really patient and encouraging."
"Miss Charlene was my piano teacher for 11 years, guiding me through the rigorous Certificate of Merit program for piano. I am so grateful to this day for
her patience, kind and understanding nature, and overall expertise and knowledge. She inspired me to teach music myself, as well as pursue music as a creative passion to this day. She truly cares for all her students and I can't recommend her enough!"
"My child has been seeing Karen for a while and has really grown in her abilities. Karen is very welcoming, flexible and a joy to work with. If you ever
have issues she is always willing to work with you. I would highly recommend her for lessons!"
"My son just had his first session with Holly and she was remarkable. We are very happy with the lesson and look forward to many more!"
"Remi is very professional, but still makes lessons fun and light-hearted. I especially appreciate his need of explaining that when he critiques, it is not
out of malice, but rather, out of wanting you to do your absolute best that he knows you are capable of doing. He believes in you, and that's an incredibly important trait to have being a teacher!
I love the incentives he gives, as well. This means that when you play "perfectly", he offers to accompany you with his guitar. When this happens for me, I feel like I am an accomplished pianist. I cannot wait for lessons every week. He and his wife are both absolute joys to be around in general!"
"My experience with Andrew was great ! He was awaiting to receive us."
"Lulu was extremely knowledgeable about the subject she is teaching. She has solid foundation of music and is very creative when it comes teaching students
with different background. Lulu was very patient and energetic and she really made the learning experience super fun."
"Ms. Lee has been teaching me piano and violin for almost a year now. I've gone from a complete beginner to being able to play some of my favorite pieces.
She has a really great personality and makes the lessons fun but at the same time really clear. I rarely get confused and don’t feel as frustrated as I did with other teachers!"
