I'm an experienced and dedicated cellist, having played with Orchestras and Chamber groups throughout my state. My lessons are focused on relaxation, and am as laid back or strict as the student needs. Whether you're a beginner or advanced, shooting to be a church player or a pro, I have taught students for that and am the teacher for you.

As a professional cellist with 20 years of playing experience spanning many styles and genres and multiple orchestras and performing groups throughout the US, I am passionate about the spreading the joy of music to students of all ages and levels! Although I use several reputable resources including the Suzuki method and technique books from Rick Mooney (Position Pieces, Thumb Positions, Double Stops), I believe it is true that every student is different and that there is no such thing as a "one-size-fits-all " approach. I'm here to see YOU succeed and help YOU meet YOUR goals!

I hold a Masters Degree in Music, am a certified North Carolina Teacher, am currently and orchestra director, and have been playing stringed instruments for the past 15 years. We will figure out at what level you are currently playing within the first lessons and then decide together what you want to focus on. This is YOUR lesson, and I am here to guide you down the path that you choose.

I'm a recent grad of University of Michigan, where I received both my bachelors and masters degrees in cello performance with Anthony Elliott and Richard Aaron, respectively. I've spent years honing my craft and I'm excited to share with you everything I've learned!
My teaching style is a blend of all the teaching philosophies that I've encountered over the years. I emphasize good technique and a holistic approach to cello playing, as I believe those two are the foundation to building musicality. However, I believe the ultimate goal is to simply instill a love for music into my students and to encourage them to have fun. I look forward to making music with you soon!

My style of teaching is to teach each child one step at a time, through method training. Each child/Adult has their own learning curve and I adjust accordingly. Each lesson is fun and yet a learning time. I love teaching and it feeds every day. I always can see more students.
