We're gonna play some grooves and HAVE FUN! I'm a professional musician and have been a performing bassist for over 20 years, and I hope to pass along some of my knowledge and expertise to you. I customize your lessons to your needs and what you want to do with your ability to play bass. I can prepare you for any genre as I include fundamentals (for example, scales and arpeggios) in your practice. I use these books for reference and/or lesson work: - Hal Leonard's Bass Method-Books 1, 2 & 3 (Ed Friedland) - Mel Bay's Deluxe Jazz & Rock Bass Method (Vincent Bredice) I can help you learn how to play with a pick, how to "slap & pluck," how to sing and play simultaneously, and even how to sightread.
Hey there! I've been performing music for as long as I can remember, and performing professionally for over 30 years. I have formal training and 12 years of teaching experience. I teach with positivity, patience, and perseverance and help you express the music in you!
*** Lesson Details *** All of my lessons are customized to your needs, preferences and goals. No matter what instrument or skill level, I'll take you through the basics and help you build solid practicing fundamentals. I'll also help you develop your performance and, depending on how serious you'd like to get, I can also teach you to read music and learn music theory as well! I balance learning and technical skill with fun and self-expression.
*** Studio Equipment *** I have a dedicated music room, stocked with guitars, basses, and practice amp, keyboard and co
mputers with recording software.
*** Travel Equipment *** Keyboard, practice amp, and/or instrument cords. I expect the student to provide his/her own instrument, and prefer they have an amplifier for electric instruments.
*** Specialties *** I teach in all genres, but have experience in rock, alternative, pop, jazz, and even music theater.

I just finished a series of online upright bass lessons with Dr. Norman. It's wonderful to have a lesson without toting the bass around town. Dr. Norman is impressive in skill and knowledge. There was nothing musically he didn't know, couldn't explain, or demonstrate on the bass. He has a keyboard at hand to play chords or emphasize a particular key, and he is proficient on that too. Dr. Norman is A++.

Unfortunately, yesterday was my last lesson with Mark, as I am moving to Guam. I would definitely not be giving up my weekly lesson with him if that weren't the case! I've learned so much in the short couple months taking lessons from him. I would recommend him to anyone of any skill level. Very helpful and kind. :)
Bass is commonly the most underrated instrument in a band, though i find it as an engineer and a performer to be one of the most important. I teach the basics of rock performance with the bass, finger technique, pick technique, scales, and much more.
My name is Timothy Flynn; I'm a Music and Engineering Instructor. I run my own private studio, teach music to students of all ages, and perform weekly as a musician. My love for music has taken me far and my dedication to it has allowed me to create a life 100% devoted to its craft and growth.
I've been teaching bass for nearly 20 years. As a professional bassist playing 5-8 gigs weekly for about 10 years, I learned a wide range of bass lines and playing styles. I can help bassists of all levels improve and diversify their playing technique and awareness of all things bass!
I grew up in Birmingham, AL, Boston, MA, and Cleveland, OH, and was classically trained on violin in all three cities by members of their respective orchestras. I began studying theory in 7th grade at The Alabama School of Fine Arts. I continued theory lessons while in Boston at the New England Conservatory of Music. I attended Summer music programs at Apple Hill (New Hampshire) and Sewanee (Tennessee) and have extensive experience in orchestra, quartet, and chamber group environments.
Upon graduating Emory university in 1992 I played professionally in Destin, FL as a bassist, guitarist, violinist, and vocalist. I performed as bassist and backing vocalist with "Salty Dog" for nearly a decade. I am the co-founder of the Destin, FL band "Beach Mice." We perform for several weddings, corporate events, and benefits every year. Beach
Mice is also popular on the festival circuit on the Emerald Coast.
I relocated to Atlanta in November of 2013, and currently perform weddings, and at various restaurants and events in the Atlanta area.
I have taught individuals and group lessons on violin, bass, and guitar since 1997 and for several consecutive years at Playground Music in Fort Walton Beach.
I have several videos available on YouTube, and a website which is easily located through a simple Google search.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you fulfill your musical goals and ambitions. Happy Playing - Cheers! dp

Then I met with Michael, and though there was a ton of information we had to go through, he really made me feel at ease. He has the knowledge, patience, and understanding I was really looking for in a teacher and I'm so happy I found him!

Really like Steve's teaching ! Very easy and simplified instruction.Thank you ! Can't wait for the next Lessons.
"Great person to work with to achieve your goals."
"Mike has great enthusiasm and energy when it comes to imparting his knowledge to those of us less enlightened. Very easy demeanor too. Thanks Mike."
"Rick is a wonderful teacher. I already have some previous music experience, so he is working with me at my level instead of starting me from the beginning
. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher."
"Jonathan is very good at pushing me into areas that I'm not comfortable with. This has helped my overall playing. I'm still taking lessons and learning mo
re each week."
"Collin is an amazing teacher! I started taking lessons with him on the electric bass - I was a beginner on the instrument, but I had lots of previous musi
cal knowledge. Collin was incredibly patient with me from the get go, and had a lot of insight as to what tunes would be good for me to start with and what exercises and scales would suit my specific level of learning. He was patient and kind with me, and went at exactly the pace that I needed him to. Whenever I was struggling with a scale or bass line, he would immediately notice, slow down, and show me note for note what I was supposed to play. Conversely, whenever I was learning quickly and with ease, he would react accordingly and speed up the information a bit or move on to more difficult tasks. Collin a very skilled musician himself which makes it all the more inspiring to take lessons from him. He makes every lesson fun and informative. After each lesson, I felt pumped to practice and play during the week between our lessons. Collin is an incredible guy and a wonderful instructor - highly recommended!!!"
"overall good teacher

"Aaron was enthusiastic with my 14 year old son and introduced him to the basics of playing bass with some music theory and scales review, basic technique
instruction, and some assigned exercises to practice at home. My son loved it and has been practicing as a result."
"Jason is an amazing teacher very informative knows his stuff 100% would recomend him to anyone looking to learn to play AWESOME TEACHER"

It is found most commonly in blues and jazz, but as you learn bass guitar, you will hear its influence in almost any style of music.
