I'll help you develop your bass technique, learn the bass lines of your favorite bands and get you ready to play with a live band. If your primary instrument is guitar, like me, I'll help you understand that the bass is NOT a 4-string guitar. : )

About Chris

Chris grew up hearing his dad play guitar around the house and at live shows. He “caught the bug” around age 13 and hasn’t stopped playing since! He’s been teaching guitar since 2003 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music at North Central University in 2008 where he studied jazz, blues, rock, c

My 15 year-old son started guitar this summer. He has truly enjoyed working with Chris. Chris is patient and encouraging, as well as being a cool guy that my son looks up to.
Helen
My 13-years old son was reluctant to take music lessons. He had not liked piano (with a different instructor) when he was younger, but agreed to try guitar. Since the first trial lesson, he has been excited to learn more!

Chris is a fun teacher who knows his stuff and who communicates well with both his students and their parents. I have three kids and have found it’s difficult to find a teacher who is responsive to parents + engaging with youth + gifted at music.

His rates are very reasonable for our area. His in-home lesson space is professional and comfortable — I get to sit on a comfy couch and get work done during my son’s weekly lesson. In addition, Chris goes above and beyond to make sure the lessons are meeting our expectations. He tracked down strings for us when we accidentally broke one. He has rescheduled lessons due to our busy schedules. He is genuinely kind and such a pleasure to work with — we couldn’t be more thrilled!
Brian
Our kids have loved working with Chris. He picks songs they're excited to play, teaches them patiently, and has a lot of fun with them. They've made a ton of progress since they started with Chris, and they're always excited to see him!

I studied under College Professor and Blues Hall of Famer Mr. Fernando Jones as well as his band. I've also played the blues in SoCal, Chicago, Miami, Nashville, and London under his patient guidance and training. I draw upon his teaching to give each of my students a through and positive lesson. I have been playing the bass guitar now for seven years.

I have little to no experience with guitar, but Ralph makes it very easy to get started and I began learning technique and chords right away. He clearly has a passion for music, but also experience in teaching others to play. He's not only compassionate and understanding for the difficulties you face as a beginner, but is also ready to challenge you and keep you motivated when learning gets frustrating. You'll progress quickly with him as your teacher.

"Jered continues to be a fantastic teacher. He took the time to get to know what my goals are, he gives me good feedback, and he assigns me "homework" that is relevant and helpful to my progress. We focus on both the technique of playing bass as well as the the purpose and "feel" of the bass in different songs. I have fun at my lessons and look forward to them every week, and my bass playing continues to improve."

"To play off what Chaz said, I'm a recovering trumpet player who initially tried my hand at the guitar about 5 years ago. Corey quickly figured out that my talent and background were better suited to the bass. There's been no turning back. Corey's a great teacher! He's always patient, he makes you work, and you enjoy the process. I'd give him more than 5 stars if I could!!"

Thank you Damien because every time we visit, Joshua leaves with something new! FABULOUS INSTRUCTOR!!!"

"Very Good Teacher

I took bass lessons with Jon last year, and it was truly a phenomenal experience! Jon worked with me on my level and really broke down music theory in a clear manner. He also was able to pinpoint the areas I needed the most work in, and then developed drills for me to use at home between lessons. His teaching style helped me develop from a below average bass player to a proficient level…in less than 6 months! I highly recommend Jon no matter your experience level."
