John is a very effective teacher. I took bass lessons and I have improved so much. John is an amazing teacher and I would recommend him to anyone looking to learn the bass guitar or upright bass.

Jonathan taught me when I was around middle school age and has left a lasting impression on how I approach the bass and music 10-ish years later. Under his tutelage I learned music theory, techniques, and all sorts of different genres and styles.

His lessons were always very professional. I always felt challenged, but not overwhelmed, by the material being taught. He also made it easy to be interested in the lessons; he would always ask if there's any song or genre that I wanted to learn and that sort of thing.

Overall, definitely a 5/5 top shelf educator and musician.

What a great teacher! He has several decades of experience in playing and teaching and it shows. He plays effortlessly and is very patient. He would be the ideal teacher for someone who is either new or already experienced with the guitar. Also, I feel like he can play most any song (and coming from a 70s/80s rock/metal fan, it's great). If you're on the fence about learning or continuing with lessons, give him a shot. You won't be disappointed!

I’ve really enjoyed my lessons with Bill. Learned a ton from him so far and appreciate his patient, calm manner

Bass lessons with me focus on the importance of pocket, groove, and ear training for improvisation.

We will look at famous bass players such as Parliament's, Bootsy Collins and seasoned bassists Charlie Parker, Pino Paladino and Thundercat. The lessons will be curated behind the students goals/desires if that's creating unique baselines or learning songs and the theory behind them.

About Kevin

I am a Multi-Instrumentalist with a main focus in Guitar, Drums, & Bass. I have experience performing live, recording, and songwriting for 13 years. I focus my lessons around the understanding of music theory (chord progressions, scales, rudiments, rhythmic structures, picking techniques, etc) and

We are three lessons in so far with Kevin. He is working with my 15 year old on his electric guitar skills. So far, he has evaluated my son's skills, worked on bar chords, a couple of songs, and they changed the strings on the guitar. My son is enjoying the lessons and is very responsive to Kevin's teaching style. We are early in the lessons, but I am pleased with the overall progress.

I’ve had the pleasure of jamming with Kevin a few times at his studio, where he also gave me guitar lessons. I’m normally a piano player, and had no experience with guitar, but he decided to take me in and teach me what he knew. From the first lesson, I immediately knew, “This guy knows what he’s doing!” I highly recommend him as a teacher. He’ll definitely help you grow.

Kevin is an excellent guitar player! I’ve had a few jam sessions with him at his studio playing the keys as he played guitar and drums. He taught me some chords on the guitar and I picked them up so easily. I thought immediately, “This guys knows what he’s doing!” He plays Guitar, Bass, and Drums, and I definitely recommend learning from him.

I’m just starting to learn and I’ve tried a couple other classes but it’s difficult to follow along with live lessons. Hers was slower and more detailed, showing the chords clearly- and talking about the timing was very helpful! She even took the time to answer my question about being unable to hold the strings correctly. Great teacher!

"If you are looking for an excellent bass teacher, look no further. You would be wasting your time. I've had a number of music instructors over the years, and I can easily say that Eli ranks at or near the top of that list.

Eli knew exactly where to start with me... he truly has an amazing ability to gauge where the student's level of knowledge is, and tailor the lesson exactly to that. Within a few lessons, I had improved my form tremendously. We covered everything that I wanted to learn, and wasted no time on things that I already knew.

What's more, a few of the instructors I have had in the past came off as a bit elitist and snobby. Eli is one of the most genuine guys around. He'll guide the lesson at your own pace, always willing to pause and show you something a second, third, or fourth time... At no point do you ever feel like you are going to ask a dumb question. This is a crucial trait of a good instructor, and Eli definitely has that going for him.

He is also quite accommodating. We typically do Skype lessons, but one there was one time that his room mate had made a slight miscalculation in the internet bill, which resulted in no internet that day. Rather than let that stop him, he actually brought his bass and amplifier on the bus, and came to my apartment to give me the lesson in person. He will make sure you get your lesson, one way or another.

My only regret is that I don't have a 6th star to give the guy! I definitely recommend him to anyone looking to learn how to play the bass guitar."
