I play bass guitar as a member of "The Morris Oakley Band", a 5 piece classic rock cover band. My knowledge of music theory translates perfectly to the bass.

About Joe

Hello! I've been singing since before I can remember and playing instruments for almost as long. I have a passion for music. Whether it's being onstage at York Little Theatre, directing the church choir in Red Lion, or paying with one of several local and regional bands, I love music and performing

Joe is amazing when he gives vocal lessons. His examples are spot on. His ability to read into your strengths and weaknesses helps you to customise your lesson and focus on those aspects that'll give you quick and sustainable results. Thank you Joe.

So far my daughter is pleased and is looking forward to working with Joe. She has only had 1 lesson so far but it was smooth sailing and all went well.

As someone who was nervous and horrible at singing Joe made me feel comfortable and confident.

Looking to teach students whatever they want to learn whatever style of music. Can also teach music theory, scales, improvisation. Basically I want to cater to the student and teach him or her whatever they most want to learn. I find that I want to provide the the best experience for the student and that he enjoys wanting to learn music. I have been playing guitar and bass since I was 9 years old and now I am 30, multiple bands, symphony, and saxophone in band in school. So I can teach jazz theory, how to read music, but mostly I just want it to be a fun experience for my students.

About Max

I like working with all different age groups teaching them in a way where they can go and learn to play their favorite songs. I can also teach music theory but I find that with kids it is more exciting for them to learn how to play the type of music they are into. Once we have established that we

I never had picked up a Bass Guitar until I was in College. My first month I met two guys who had known eachother from high school and wanted to start a band. They both played Guitar (my main instrument at the time) so I lied through my teeth and told them I played the Bass but I didn't have room to bring it so I'd have to borrow their's. I was currently in my first semester of Music Theory and the tuning is the same as the bottom four strings of a Guitar so I just went for it. They liked me and I was hooked! I was in that band for over 7 years!

I began teaching Bass in 2005 when I joined The School of Rock in Downingtown, Pennsylvania and haven't stopped since! My teaching method uses a lot of Music Theory and popular, noteworthy Bass songs to teach students how to be rock solid as the backbone of a band. I am an expert at figuring songs out by ear so pick your favorite tunes and we can learn to play them! From 'never played before' to 'I wanna learn a Jaco tune (if you don't know

About Thomas

I LOVE to teach and I am looking for a few more motivated students online and at my home studio on Merritt Island, Florida. Lessons are fun and motivating! Beginning students learn songs that they love while also learning basic theory and instrument technique. Advanced students will have their mind

I am a college-educated bass player with a background in audio engineering and acoustics, so I can teach you not only how to play, but why techniques matter! There is no better way to learn than to have multiple perspectives, and as a mostly self-taught player, I believe that allows me to help others when traditional methods aren't sufficient. On top of that, I'm very chill and just looking to help people appreciate the bass guitar!

About Christopher

I'm here to get you excited about bass and why it's one of the most important instruments in music! From the ground up, building a solid foundation as a bass player is the key to making music that moves people, regardless of genre. Technique, ear-training, sight-reading, and improvisation are jus

I have performed hundreds of concerts in the U.S. as well in Europe and the Middle East with Artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Michael Angelo Batio, Ratt, Sammy Hagar, Dokken and many others. 17 years ago I took lessons from Ahmad (maybe 4 or 5 at most due to moving out of state then as well). Fast forward to this year when I came back for a work contract and decided to give him a call. It just so happened that due to COVID the day I called him was the day he was starting to teach in person again. What great timing!!! Unfortunately I only had about 2.5 months of lessons from him this time, but I have learned so much in that short time.

Ahmad is by far the best guitar teacher I've ever had the pleasure of taking lessons from. The cost of the lessons are completely worth it in my opinion. His ability to break things down , his patience, and his willingness to ensure you have the understanding of the days subject is unparalleled. If I weren't moving out of I would 10000% continue going to him. Definitely do yourself a favor and see what he has to offer.
Matthew
I've taken lessons with Ahmad a few months now and I've made more progress in that short time than in any period during my 25 years playing guitar. He's helped me tackle the biggest technique issues that were slowing me down, and greatly expanded my knowledge of the fretboard. These improvements are making me a more confident player. Now I look forward to playing live (post COVID-19!) and recording, whereas in the past I had a lot of anxiety about pressure situations. I look at the improvement I've made in such a short time and get excited about where I could take my playing in the time to come.

Ahmad is professional and dedicated to teaching: He provided me a practice binder that he fills with exercises as I progress, and it's clear a lot of thinking has gone into the order of exercises, the suggested fingerings (often with several alternatives), and the presentation. When asked about theory or technique issues related to the exercises, Ahmad responds with clear explanations, so I'm confident he has deep knowledge of his subject. He's responsive over email between lessons when I have questions too. Also, if you're worried about in-person instruction during the pandemic like I was, Ahmad is on top of it.

While he's professional, Ahmad's demeanor is very friendly and conversational, and there's a casual atmosphere at his studio. Further, if you're worried about a teacher forcing you to learn things you're not interested in, there's nothing to fear here. Ahmad always checks in with me when presenting something new to make sure we're going in the direction I want. Thing is, I feel confident enough in Ahmad, and had such great results, I tend to follow his suggestions to the letter.

Stellar teaching every time and the nicest guy to boot! Trust Ahmad, he will save you YEARS!

I have been playing the drums for more than 15 years but was always infatuated with the guitar (acoustic and electric). In my youth, I managed to figure out some basic campfire chords and riffs by my favourite bands but that was about it.

2 years ago I decided to get back to guitar, but did not make much progress trying to learn from online courses and Youtube. I was never able to adhere to a schedule or a lesson plan and I eventually found myself frustrated with practicing. I was always second guessing myself and unsure of my technique, which led to a drop in confidence. In addition, this attempt at self teaching led to MAJOR gaps in my fundamental music theory knowledge and did way more harm than good.

But I still could not put out this desire to learn the guitar.
I was lost and decided that I needed to completely reset.

I started looking for a teacher who would be able to understand my situation. I wanted to find a teacher that would help me cultivate accountability, meet my expectations for regular progress and reach my musical potential. And I am so lucky to have found Ahmad!

In the first session itself, Ahmad was able to assess my playing level, goals and recommended a path forward for me in my quest to get better! At every lesson, he knows exactly what to focus on so that practice stays fun while ensuring steady progress and while avoiding bad habits and detrimental shortcuts.

Ahmad provides detailed lesson handouts that I can refer to when practicing at home. The rhythmic notation and phrasing are always included. What really benefited me is that Ahmad provides the fingerings along with the lesson tablature, this way I am able practice exactly how I should be and build the proper muscle memory in my fingers.

I am finally learning guitar the right way!

Ahmad's philosophy is to understand 'why' and 'how' instead of memorizing notes and patterns. The knowledge he imparts will be useful and will stay with me for the rest of my guitar playing days.

Fast forward a year under Ahmad's tutelage I feel so much more confident and capable in my playing. I am now able to understand how the notes are mapped out on the guitar and how they are related to each other, it just makes sense now!

Ahmad is continuously helping me build a strong fundamental knowledge and technique base that I can build on. My lessons with Ahmad are always fun and mentally stimulating as he actively challenges me and keeps me engaged as we tackle harmonized scales, chord building, triads and technique. I especially like how he shares his experiences and precious personal tips from his time at G.I.T (Guitar Institute of Technology) in Los Angeles!

I absolutely believe that what I have learned from Ahmad, I would have never learned anywhere online. There is a renewed and sustained feeling of excitement every time I pick up my guitar.

I highly recommend Ahmad to anyone who is looking to learn to play guitar well.
I hope that others will find the same joy that I have found in learning to play guitar with Ahmad.

"Jeff Stetson is & has been my #1 recommendation to learn to play music for 20+ years!

Jeff was probably the best thing to happen to me as a teenager. I took bass lessons from Jeff for 5 years & in that time, my world of music expanded as did my skills in playing music. My lessons with Jeff prepared me well enough to enter into college level music courses. If I had an audition, Jeff zeroed in on what I needed to know & helped me get the gig. His study techniques work, if you work em'! He will show you what you want & you will get a whole lot more. Ask him about the Louie Louie/Wild Thing thread & you will get the history & learn to play R-n-R, the Blues, R.n.B, Funk. & the foundations of Jazz. All levels, all styles, Jeff Stetson is my #1 recommendation for learning music. Thanks Jeff, I am positive you helped keep me out of trouble & possibly jail too."

"As a beginning, self-taught bass player of four months, I wanted to find a teacher who could analyze and critique my playing. I scheduled five lessons with David over a time period of three months. David was instrumental in analyzing and critiquing bad techniques and habits I acquired. He very thoroughly emphasized proper fretting technique and finger positioning; exercises were given that helped me obtain full tonal quality and efficient fretboard navigation skills. We also reviewed basic theory, scale modes, rhythmic weight, pentatonics and arpeggios; seminal knowledge for the beginner.

A technical type player, David has excellent playing skills as well as a comprehensive knowledge of theory and its practical application. He is a good listener and showed a genuine interest in helping me achieve my goals. I definitely can see an improvement in my playing skills....playing more confidently and efficiently.

Highly recommended......."

In 2 months with David, I feel like I understand more about music than I ever have. His explanations are clear and that makes all the difference in the world for me. He has an abundance of patience, knowledge, and a passion for music. I'm nowhere near where I want to be, but I'm closer than I've ever been...All thanks to David."

His books are both comprehensive and accessible in addressing beginning to advanced musical concepts, and he's a very patient teacher who also works well with whatever your style is. Through supplemental songs and riffs, he makes the driest aspects of musical theory and rhythm entertaining.
