I am a pianist, accompanist and experienced teacher based in Baltimore, having obtained my Master's degree and Graduate Performance Diploma in piano performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University. I currently hold positions as graduate accompanist at the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University, pianist and music coordinator at the Patapsco United Methodist Church, and piano instructor at a few music schools in Baltimore and privately. I enjoy working with students of all levels and age groups, and am experienced in teaching many genres including classical, pop, and Christian music. I guide students through an artistic vision that helps them understand, appreciate, and excel at the artistic and technical aspects of piano playing, and I enjoy sharing my love for music with my students and helping them build fun and fulfilling experiences through the journey of music learning.

With 10 years of teaching piano lessons and 3 degrees in piano, I have both the expertise and experience to provide a uniquely tailored learning environment to piano students of all ages and levels. Teaching excites me because it gives me the opportunity to find out each student's individuality and to help them reach their inner potential. Since student goals vary from wanting to play chord charts in a garage band to aspiring to become a concert pianist, I do not have a rigid teaching method - rather, I tailor it to each student. Beyond the fundamentals of technique and reading music, piano lessons with me include focusing any amount of the following: classical, improvisation, composition, theory, jazz, popular styles, hymns, etc... I can't wait to begin guiding you on your musical journey with the piano!
About Ozzie
I am a pianist and a passionate teacher of pianists of all shapes and sizes. The joy of playing the piano is one that my skills as a teacher help me infuse into my students. I also find it to be quite a positive feedback loop for me: teaching makes me want to hone my own skills and playing well giv

I have tried many methods and I've learned to be flexible because everyone is unique in either how they learn and interpret best to perform music. Music is fundamental to life if not the very ability created by God for life in general. All around us are vibrations which is the very essence of creation and life. As far as methods: I use Alfred's Piano Premier, John Thompson, and American College of Musicians approved materials for Piano Guild. Scales, chords, cadences, and I firmly believe in students learning the language of music as well as counting rhythm all of which comes back increasing math, science, critical thinking, and humanities comprehension.
About Fred
The Number One most primal and crucial element for music is no different than the Number One most essential and crucial element in life in general: the answer is "Time". Just as our lives cannot escape time, what makes really great music is timing! What defines a music teacher from a music perf

What what stood out to me the most is that he has a genuine desire to see each student succeed. He and his wife, Sara are a beautiful teacher duo team!
He is the authority in any room and is easily able to create a sense of safety and purpose.
That is really important for children to learn well.
I want to also thank Maestro Phillips publicly because I felt overwhelmed with the size and weight of my harp and he taught me how to carry it properly, how to store it away correctly and how to transport it safely.

My main goal as a music educator is to instill in my students a sense of self esteem, artistic curiosity and discipline when it comes to music, singing and the piano.
I accept students of all ages (3+) musical backgrounds beginner to professional.
All styles of repertoire are encouraged.
I’m excited to offer a special piano program designed for children ages 3-5 and for ages 5+.
An encouraging first music lesson experience is critical to your child's long-term enjoyment of the piano.
Lessons are tailored to meet the needs of preschool-aged (ages 3-5) and beginning piano students (ages 5+) to ensure that their first music experience is both positive and enjoyable.
Falling in love with the piano is easy with the right lessons! With story-based instruction your child will get a head start in music, math and life while:

He had NO natural musically ability, barely being able to hold a beat let alone understand time and key.
He started lessons in Berkeley for three months and didn't seem to improve, then we found Fawn and signed up for lessons, even though I was skeptical about it being online. Within a month of playing, he was understanding the foundation of music, improv, ect., and Fawn REALLY pushed him. 15 months later he has a solid playing and reading ability, even though his work only allows him 1-2 hours a week of practice. Fawn is teaching both the fundamentals plus improve, scales, etc. that really push him to be a better piano player. She encourages him to chose pieces he loves as well. Soon they will start songwriting. I am thoroughly impressed."

From a beginner piano player to a more advanced pianist, we can ALL benefit from working on our technique. It is and should be, a continual process that is consistent and regular. Technique is how we execute the notes on the page with our fingers, our hands, and our whole body. It is important to note that if you want to improve your playing ability, then work on the proper technique of your body and hand position and include it in your daily practice routine to develop good habits and lon …
