I am a certified Suzuki Method teacher, currently trained in levels 1-3, with plans for further certification training.

I am fun and supportive. I'm having just as much fun teaching as I want my students to have learning, and creating a patient, supportive environment is integral to my students' development.

I teach all ages and abilities. I am experienced in a variety of teaching levels, from beginning to advanced studies.

Each student has lessons structured according to their individual goals, learning speeds, and musical levels. I teach students of all levels positive playing habits and how to avoid bad habits, and I teach these using the standard classical repertoire for violin and viola.

I emphasize technique and the fundamentals of theory, with students of all levels so they will have the essential building blocks and tools they need to succeed.

I am professional. I have received some of the best education in my field, and with over 20 years of experience in music

About Anna

Inspired by Disney's Fantasia to play violin at age 4, violist Anna Bross hasn't been able to stop performing ever since. She has gone from playing in Grandma's living room to pursuing her dream in Symphony Orchestras and Chamber Groups all across America. She has performed in Arkansas, Colorado

Anna is very good at explaining terms and methods in a way that can be easily understood by a novice such as myself by catering to one's style of learning while at the same time ensuring that the student remain grounded on the fundamentals whether it is in the finger positioning, bowing strokes, or proper posture. I love how she is able not only to identify things that I might be doing wrong but also solutions to difficulties that I might be having during the lessons. As a result, I am very happy at how I have progressed in my skill level since I started a couple of months ago. She is very patient, listens to concerns of the student, very easy to talk to, and has a laid back learning environment. I would highly recommend her to anyone I know who might be interested in learning the violin, whether young or old like myself.

Andy always manages to motivate my daughter and get her to enjoy playing her viola, which is no mean feet! She looks forward to the lessons and has improved greatly over the last couple of years.

Andy has been teaching my son piano for the last two years. My son always looks forward to going to piano with Andy and he has made so much progress. Andy is very communicative about my son's progress and ideas he has for new goals. Andy is very good at helping my son keep his enthusiasm for piano. He is also sensitive about where my son is at in terms of what he needs to strengthen or if any adjustments need to be made. I highly recommend Andy, not only as a music teacher, but as a person with whom you would want yourself or children to spend time with each week.
Nick
One of the best Cello instructors in the region. I strongly endorse this talented man.

Amanda is knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and is doing an excellent job teaching my Kindergartner, who is progressing rapidly and enjoying the lessons! This is our third teacher, so we have some experience and Amanda is exceeding our expectations. My schedule is often unpredictable, so far too often, I am late or have to change our timing on short notice, Amanda is kind and patient with both of us and has put a great deal of effort into being flexible and available. We couldn't ask for better!

First lesson went great. My daughter is 13 and she said Amanda was kind, patient and made her feel comfortable to be able to ask questions. She is looking forward to her next lesson.

I have found that the classical music world can often fall into the trap of being stuffy, competitive, and intimidating. The professional scene can sometimes lose sight of what's really important (that music is supposed to be fun and enjoyable!) and unfortunately drive some people away from this divine art form. Music is everything and everywhere - it is the most intimate, intuitive and beautiful language that transcends the oral and written word. I do emphasize proper technique in lessons, but I do not lose sight of this truth and try my best to keep my students motivated and inspired. With all that being said, I can go at whatever pace the student wishes. I can provide a low pressure, light hearted environment. I am also capable of placing focus on refining proper violin/viola technique - this creates the best results and faster progress. At the end of each lesson, I give clear instructions how to productively practice at home.

About Aekyung

Graduated from The Juilliard School with both my Master's and Bachelor's degree. Studied with the principal of the NY Philharmonic. Suzuki Certified Teacher. Currently on faculty at an established music institute in CT and the Assistant Principal violist of the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. More

With my own practice, I want to expand the horizons of music and where it can take me. Because of this, I plan to structure each of your lessons around growth and patience. Often the best way to improve is to gradually start with the root of your struggles and built from there.

Lessons:
***EXTRA VIOLA for in-person lessons*** Beginners who don’t have an instrument yet can use my 15’’ viola during their lesson. Typically that size would be played comfortably by a child, but if you have any questions please let me know.

For lessons at my home or in the community center, parents/guardians are welcome to sit in.

Adult beginners are also welcome!

Some examples of the things you may want to work on:
-performance skills/etiquette
-intonation
-strings methods
-bow work
-scales
-ensemble playing (quartet, orchestra, chamber, etc)
-practice tips

Though violin was my first instrument, I now perform and record with a 5-string acoustic-electric violin that includes a c string, makes it a hybrid violin and a viola all-in-one!

I generally start my beginning viola students with the Suzuki curriculum, and much like my violin students, I enjoy supplementing these pieces with music theory and popular/rock songs.

About Simone

In addition to 10 years of private lesson training and orchestra performance, I also have over 10 years of experience as a rock violinist! :) I enjoy teaching students who love to learn, and highly the value time and energy it takes to dedicate oneself to a creative pursuit such as music. The fr
