Students receive customized lessons based on level (beginner, intermediate, advanced), learning styles, and progress. Setting goals and a positive coaching environment allow students to progress and excel in their piano practice between lessons. Effective communication with students and parents promotes a the greatest potential for success. My work as a piano instructor and performer spans nearly 30 years giving students the highest quality of instruction based on experience in the field.

As a graduate in Music Therapy from Eastern Michigan University (EMU), I am eager to help you accomplish your full potential in learning to play the piano or guitar (or both).
Whether your desire is to begin learning or to improve your technique, prepare for an audition, open your child up to the wonderful world of music, for church worship, or simply impress your friends, my goal is to help bring out your best.
I use a variety of technique and capitalize on student strength, bringing together all the elements of music (pitch, timbre, rhythm, emotion) to help you produce the most satisfying music to play and listen to.
Songwriting and Composition and an integral part of music and will be encouraged!
Classes can be given in English or Spanish/Español.

I am a musician of 20+ years that passionately enjoys teaching and helping students new to music in discovering and developing their skills and aptitude for music. I have performed live on many occasions in contemporary and religious settings. I come from a musical family: My father made an album in 1969 with Bob Seger and wrote nearly half of the music on the album. My brother was a part of a musical group that produced songs that made it to a Hollywood movie. I play multiple musical instruments and can help students learn some of their favorite songs based on their level of skill. I teach out of my home in Sterling Heights, Michigan. My goal is to help students develop an interest in music and an appreciation for the history and development of music. It is also my goal to help students develop their skill in music to a place where they can become independent in their growth and exploration of music, music writing, and music performance.

Coming from 15+ years' experience learning, interpreting, & performing music; 7+ years recording, & 6+ years teaching, you can expect from me an enjoyable, streamlined lesson to help strengthen your musical understanding & ability to further utilize your love for music. I specialize in classical, jazz fundamentals, rock/pop, recording, composition, & live performance. I'm fairly well versed in many other genres, so I can easily meet your preferences across the board. Cultivate a deeper relationship with your instrument & unlock your potential! :)

I am very focused and driven to ensure that you further your technique on a weekly basis. I specialize in training beginner/intermediate piano students. I have experience with performing and composing music. I was awarded certificates from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
