Learn Classical Piano or Video Game and Anime Music!
It is my goal to develop in each of my students a comprehensive understanding of music which enables them to play the piano with utmost enjoyment and musicality. Quality piano instruction is achieved through focused private lessons. Although an emphasis is placed on classical repertoire, the student's curriculum is always tailored to the student's interests and goals. I find encouragement is absolutely necessary but students must try their best. My teaching style consists of a fun, relaxed environment where students can feel like they can express themselves fully and learn much at the same time. Mastery at the piano is so much more than learning to press the right keys at the right time. Music is about expressing and sharing human emotions and feelings that are unspoken and is something we can all be touched by.
I've been banging on the piano since I was 3, but piano became more structured when I turned 7 and I've loved piano so much since then! I've been classically trained in the US and then later in Italy so all together I have 17 years piano playing experience. My favorite genre is Modern Japanese Classical music (fancy name for anime and video game music). While studying abroad with my Maestro in Italy however, I was only allowed to play classical music so I became even more proficient in that musical genre. I have been teaching Children and Adult students for 7 years. People aren't' intimidated when I'm around and I believe students benefit greatly when they are comfortable with the teacher and can feel natural around them. The teaching process is most successful when the students share their ideas, disagreements, goals; when th
ey are challenged and test their abilities. ***Lesson Details*** I am very laid back and love to laugh, but I do expect the students to be prepared and practice, this way they benefit the most from each teaching session. I believe students should be involved in their curriculum, so I encourage all to bring in pieces THEY WANT to play because this will make the learning process overall more fun and enjoyable. My trust is, if you practice regularly you can accomplish much in a short period of time. Whatever you put into learning piano, is what you will get out, whether great or small. ***Specialties*** - Modern Japanese Classical : Yoko Shimamura, Nobuo Uematsu ... (Video Game and Anime) - Classical : Joplin, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff ... - Italian Technique Training
You will learn to love playing your instrument through pieces and exercises that not only build your musicianship, but your technic as well. With a better technic, you can play more challenging music!
I have had a varied background growing up, from being an Eagle Scout, to holding a black belt in Judo. Growing up in Arizona and being the youngest of three boys from a very musical family, I found classical music and it became my passion. I began with piano at age 9, while also sang in many church musicals. In 2006 I graduated from Northern Arizona University with two degrees: a bachelors in vocal performance and a bachelors in piano/choral education. At NAU, I sang in many operas and piano recitals and spent three months in Germany teaching choir through the Department of Defense.Shortly after, I graduated with a masters in vocal performance from Washington University in St. Louis. The studies I learned from Wash U catapulted my love for teaching!Recently, I have been teaching out of St. John School of the Arts, where I worked with v
oice and piano students ages 7-60. All of my students had varying styles, but I was able to help them build a foundation of technique that would allow them to sing with a free and healthy tone in any style.I believe we all have the ability to create music and I can help you discover it!
*** Lesson Details *** My goal in voice lessons is first and foremost to establish a solid vocal technique. My philosophy is "singing is simple, but not easy!" We will focus mostly on two things: breath and space for singing. This method of teaching is known as "bel canto". It helps build a strong foundation that then allows you to sing almost any style! Because everyone is different, we will tailor a set of exercises to fit your needs and will help you build that strong foundation! Once these principles begin to settle in, we will work on music. I have a huge library of songs to chose from, but I highly encourage you to bring in your favorite songs. Remember, everyone is different and progresses at different rates, but don't be discouraged! This is not a race, but a life skill that you will continue to master!
In piano, I am classically trained. Through a series of music books, we will work on music theory, finger dexterity, music history, ear training, eye/hand coordination, and pure enjoyment of making music. Again, everyone is different, but with some outside commitment, you will improve! Classical piano training is a great foundation for all other styles, such as jazz, pop, singer songwriter, country, etc. Piano also helps with in other aspects of your life such as memory, math, history, reading, etc.
*** Studio Equipment *** I have a full size keyboard and music stand.
*** Travel Equipment *** Please provide a piano, music books, music stand (if needed), and a lesson book for notes.
*** Specialties *** I am a classically trained baritone specializing in bel canto. I have found this technique to be a great foundation for all styles of singing, from opera to pop. I am also classically trained at the piano. I focus on natural hand positions, note identification, music theory, and ear training. And I have fun doing it!
Tom is a very patient teacher who is supportive yet instructive in his feedback. As a novice I have very much appreciated his ability to see what I need as we move through the lessons. As an educator with over 35 years of experience, I appreciate his ability to connect with me, the student. My lessons have improved my ability and my confidence. Thanks, Tom! See you for another set of lessons

I've been a piano teacher for over 10 years. I teach music reading, basic music theory, correct posture and finger positions, fingering techniques and musical interpretation and expression. I use Alfred method books primarily with some augmentation with supplemental materials. I teach with a relaxed and nurturing style. I like to use Alfred method books however, I will accommodate students who have already begun working in another method. I supplement the method books with Hanon and other fun and interesting materials.

TEACHING OVERVIEW: Mary Frances has been teaching voice since 1987. She works with youth and adults, beginner and advanced. She helps voice students develop a natural, healthy, beautiful sound, proper placement and projection of the voice for singing and speaking. Her goal is to help singers gain fulfillment and joy while improving their art. She believes music should be fun and rewarding.
VOICE STUDENTS of hers have won university placement and scholarships and have been accepted into Allstate Chorus for High School
She also teaches PIANO. She has taught piano for about 10 years. She studied piano privately for 10 years and had further study at Indiana University.
Students wishing to have any COMBINATION of piano, music theory, sight reading and/or vocal development can receive a program of study that meets their individual needs.

She has sung title roles in Patience, Little Red Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel. Mary Frances was a long time student of the late Elizabeth Nohe Colson of Atlanta, Georgia. She has attended Brevard Music Center, The Georgia State Opera Workshop and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. While in Graz, Mary Frances was a finalist in the Meistersinger competition.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR LESSON LENGTH: 30-minutes for beginning adults and elementary students up to 5th grade. 45-minutes for intermediate adults and students 5th to 8th grade. 60-minute lessons for more advanced students high school and up.
TEACHING STYLE AND CURRICULUM: ALL: My teaching style is relaxed and nurturing I use positive reinforcement to encourage progress with adults and children. Students are allowed to progress at their own pace.
PIANO: I prefer the Alfred's Basic Piano Library series for my piano students. I find that my students learn more music theory and music reading with this series. If the student has started lessons in a different series, I can work with that as well. I have a large music library that provides a wide selection of music in addition to the Alfred books. I expect most beginning students to learn basic music reading and theory in 3 to 6 months. They should also to be able to play simple tunes in that time. I am an active professional singer, so I have a large library of vocal material at my disposal.
All piano students are REQUIRED to have an instrument to practice on at home. The piano MUST HAVE AT MINIMUM: IF Digital - 88 full sized, weighted keys with polyphonic sound ( at least 10 keys should be able to sound at at the same time) and a sustain pedal, OR - If Accoustic - maintained and properly tuned.
VOICE: I begin my voice lessons with breathing techniques and vocal placement using widely accepted exercises coming from a large body of sources such as: Vaccai, professional level vocal teachers, coaches and directors that I have worked with and learned from over the last 30 years, and the writings of highly acclaimed authors in the vocal field. I also have a wide selection of art song books, oratorio, musical theatre, and opera. My background is classical and musical theatre, but I believe all styles of singing need the basic skills of breathing and vocal placement. I strive to keep voices healthy as well as find each student's most beautiful sound. Most students will see progress in breath control, range, projection and diction in 3 to 6 months.
Repertoire is chosen on an individual basis. Younger students and beginners will be encouraged to not push their voices with material that is too difficult for their individual abilities because singing requires a certain amount of physical endurance. My goal is to find each student's natural sound for whatever style he or she sings.
Voice students are encouraged to bring a recording device to lessons to use for later practice and study.

I studied classical piano for 15 years so I enjoy teaching aspiring pianists to reach their full potential.
I am a professional singer, pianist, songwriter, and recording artist. I graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelors of Music, specifically voice.
Voice students can expect to improve week to week in their vocal technique. Every voice has a unique timbre; I teach students to release built up tension and apply foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I can help any student to sing with freedom, confidence, and expression.
I teach piano students of all different ages and experience levels. I studied classical piano for 16 years, and contemporary keyboard for 7 of those. I can teach students to read music and pursue classical excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.
As a professional recording a
rtist I frequently take trips to Nashville for co-writing, recording, and meeting with record labels. I have written with well-known writers like Mia Fieldes from Hillsong, Tony Wood from Provident Label Group, Stu G from Delirious?, and Jon Steingard from Hawk Nelson. I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic songwriters.
My personal passion is contemporary music but I firmly believe that great technique is essential to any and every style. I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!
I have been teaching piano lessons for several years now, to students ranging from 4 to 50 years of age. In the first lesson, students can expect to learn the musical alphabet, location of middle C, the correct posture and hand position, as well as some simple musical exercises depending upon the student's age and ability. My goal in teaching is to help people gain an understanding and appreciation of the piano, as well as the workings of music as a whole. While my background is in classical piano, I enjoy working with students on any style of music that utilizes sheet music.
A full-time operatic performer and music educator, Maureen Kelly has been teaching voice and piano lessons since 2009. She currently runs her own private studio, in addition to traveling to students' homes to teach lessons. She happily teaches anyone who has an interest and willingness to learn, regardless of experience.
Ms. Kelly received a Master of Music from the University of Maryland in 2017 with an emphasis in Opera Performance. In teaching, her goal is to find the optimal method for each individual student that will encourage them to grow and improve. She firmly believes that anyone who is willing to dedicate the time and effort to learning a new instrument is capable of doing so, and looks forward to helping new students achieve their goals.
Lessons are scheduled to best accommodate the student's schedule, and as such can be
at a regular day/time or determined on a weekly basis. Please be aware that Ms. Kelly is an opera singer who periodically travels for performances. As such, she may need to reschedule lessons from time to time, but will always give as much advance notice as possible.
Very lovely lady and very patient with me. I’m 64 years young and i’m trying to recapture those lessons I took in my teens.

Maureen is a fantastic teacher for anyone looking to improve their singing skills. I came in with no background in music, and she was very capable in assessing my level and getting me started on exercises and practices to improve my vocal control, posture, and more. She is very friendly and patient, and is always excited to practice and improve. I would definitely recommend Maureen for beginners and beyond who are looking to improve their singing.
I'm a fun person who loves different genres of music. I'm laid back but I try to keep things interesting so that lessons don't feel like a chore. I sometimes teach current songs from the radio to explain theory.
I'm a multi-instrumentalist who is excited about music and would love to teach what I have acquired about piano. I've started my journey at the age of 5 with formal lessons. I took these lessons all throughout grade school and high school. In my middle school years through high school, I played trumpet in the concert, symphonic, and marching band. Piano in Jazz band. In High School I played for my home church as well as the gospel choir at school with friends. I learned a lot about playing by ear in those years, as I am mainly classically trained. Through learning theory in my lessons and having friends who play by ear, I have learned to play radio hits and explain them. I also am a music producer and I find it fun to teach and learn through the studio as well as with piano students.
I started teaching piano when I was 18, and I always found it deeply rewarding. Through all these years I’ve taught both professional and amateur musicians, and both children and adults. I teach private lessons in New York City, and via Skype. I don’t teach any preconceived method or approach, I like to work according to the interests, needs, and abilities of each student.
I teach piano, both classical and jazz, and other topics that you can find at any conservatory, or music school auditions: Composition, Ear Training, Harmony, Counterpoint, Rhythmic Training.
I’ve been lucky enough to have studied with many great teachers around the world. Some of them, such as John Bloomfield, Edna Golandsky and the late Sophia Rosoff, known all over the world for their teaching abilities and considered as some of the top pedagogues of the piano in the last decades.
I hold a master on jazz performance from the Prins Claus Conservatorium (Netherlands), and I've studied classical music for over 15 years with some of the best pedagogues in the world (Edna Golandsky, Sophia Rosoff, John Bloomfield, Paul Komen). The thesis of my Masters was based on healthy piano playing, and how to play and teach it to avoid fatigue, pain and injuries. This is a serious issue that most unexperienced piano teachers have no idea about, and many experienced either. I'm easy going, and enjoy my time with children. They usually have a lot of fun at the lessons, and we can always learn to improvise, to compose, and to play classical repertoire, jazz, children songs or pop music.
As a pianist I've worked for Cunard Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Holland America Line.
I am a singer, songwriter, piano player and worship leader. I can teach not only piano skills and but also teach other music skills if you want to learn from me. I am a passionate and powerful music lover! I could make you to express your mind and heart through music.
Hello, I am a professional singer, worship leader, and music teacher in a Christian private school. I went to school in Nyack College for a Bachelors of Music, specifically voice in New York.
Voice students can develop from the basic to the advanced level week to week. Not only I teach how to sing well, but also I will teach the theories and foundational techniques in order to unlock their own individual sound. I love to teach any levels and any age groups with passion.
Also, I teach piano students of all different ages and any levels. I can teach students to read music, play chords and teach them to make their own sound from their hearts.
Lastly, I am also a Korean teacher in a private school from the 4th grade to 12th grade. Korean is a very fun language to learn and I will make you experience Korean culture through movies, videos
, and food.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!

"Ethan is a great piano teacher! we just finished our 2nd session, and i enjoyed the lesson so much, i can’t wait to have next session. he is passionat

"Great teacher for any level of piano. Caters to the students desires for learning and type of music they may be most interested in. Highly recommended!"
"Michael knows what he's doing and makes great suggestions on how to be better. A great teacher!"
"My 16 yr old son started lessons with Richard a year ago. He was with another teacher for 10 years before that and quit at age 14. He forgot most of what
he learned and was hesitant to try out online lessons after a two year break. Richard had a way of motivating my son to read music and in very little time, he started practicing daily and for fun! Many times I would catch him playing piano at night (using a digital piano with headphones). He improved so rapidly and now plays Chopin pieces whereas one year ago he could barely play half a Thompson song. Highly recommend Richard. My son loves playing the piano now!"
"My daughter had her first online lesson today with Phillip. She was nervous meeting someone new. His friendly patient personality helped her feel at ease
as he shared his knowledge with her. Thank you Phillip!"
"Fawn is fun and professional. My son has a lot of fun learning by her teaching methods.playing. She teaches about music theory, reading notes and the hist
ory of music, so it's not just learning songs. My son keeps getting better and better because he loves to play, loves Fawn and has fun doing it. How she has made the difficult work fun for him, is a true miracle."
