In my piano lessons, we focus on reading music and theory, while playing songs tailored to the student's interest and working on correct posture and technique.
Everyone has a beautiful voice. Let me teach you how to make it heard.
My passion for music is the most pervasive quality of my personality. Consequently, passing that passion on to others is what brings me the most joy in life. My goal is to spread the love and appreciation for this unique and transcending art form through guidance, performance, and instruction. As my student, you will receive exactly what you (or your child) want out of the lessons-you are the one controlling what you want from them (be it any style of music, professional track or just for fun, music theory, and performance) and I am there to provide it. Music is nothing short of extremely fun and completely liberating.
I have always loved to sing and play guitar and piano starting from a young age, and I never gave up my determination and passion for perfor
ming. In middle and high school I did many musicals (Jekyll and Hyde, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver, Miss Saigon, Little Shop of Horrors, Footloose, Kiss Me Kate, and Cats) and sang in the choir (including the California All State Honor Choir and Jazz Choir). I played guitar in the school Jazz Band and participated in many jam sessions out of school. I also participated in many piano competitions, including ones for my own composition (I received an honorable mention for one of my own piano works). In college, I received a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Redlands. I have recently completed my Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Redlands. I have performed many opera roles including Suor Angelica in Puccini's Suor Angelica, Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata, the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute, and Fiordiligi in Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte, and Najade in Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos. I was also in the University Chapel Singers Choir, Madrigals Choir, and Treblemakers a Capella Jazz choir. I currently reside in Germany where I am teaching online lessons to students all over the world, teaching English, and pursuing an opera career. So far I have sung the role of the Queen of the Night in Weimar, Germany and have done a few concerts singing Christine from the Phantom of the Opera.
"Hard work beats talent if talent does not work hard." This is my favorite quote. I truly believe that hard work will take you anywhere, no matter where your starting point is. With hard work and determination, you can be anything you want to be. With motivation, anyone can be a beautiful singer, guitarist, and pianist. If I did not believe this with all my heart, I would not be where I am today. To me, every student has great potential. It is my job and joy to bring out that potential and cultivate it into talent, love, and passion.
My lessons are fun and rewarding. I do not believe that a critical environment is one that is healthy or pleasant to learn in. Therefore, I am a very encouraging, patient, and supportive teacher, and I will praise you for your improvements, as well as help you correct your difficulties. I like to think of my lessons as a team effort, with more emphasis on working together and having fun. With that being said, I believe that you get what you put in out of our lessons. The more you practice and the more you show me determination and motivation, the more we can have fun, improve technique, and really make music in our lessons.
I customize each lesson to my student, so you tell me what you want to sing or play and what your goals as a musician are, and I will instruct you (or your child) in the exact way that fits your goals and interests. After a couple months with me, you will have a new found passion for music, knowledge of proper technique, reading and diction, and the skills to perform and communicate pieces of music. Most importantly, you will have the time of your life!
My voice lessons consist of vocal warm-ups where you learn proper technique and posture, breathing exercises to expand your diaphragm and support when you sing, and Repertoire work where you apply the technique you learned, practice performance skills, and learn diction of English, Italian, German, Hebrew, or French.
My guitar and piano lessons start with learning how to read music (if you do not know already) and being familiar with the keys or frets and the notes on the staff. Then we work on pieces of music, paying attention to the key factors of musicianship including rhythm, interpretation, dynamics, composition, musicality, and performance practice. My music theory lessons are based on whatever the student wants to learn or needs instruction on. I teach anywhere from basic music notation to advanced harmonic and formal analysis.
My speaking and lessons are similar to my voice lessons, minus the singing aspect-the same technique we use for singing is the technique we must use for speaking if we want to be heard, be healthy, and not get tired or worse - lose our voice. We work on breathing and projection techniques and then practice on a reading sample or presentation.
My acting lessons consist of different improv-acting games, projection techniques, and monologue and role studies. You will learn how to communicate a message to the audience clearly and effectively while having a wonderful time!
My language and tutoring classes are focused on fluency-getting comfortable speaking in the target language. We go through chapters of a lesson plan I created myself-learning vocabulary and grammar by learning the functions of them and completing speaking goals. After just a few lessons, you will find that you will be able to converse in your target language. Your individual pace is the most important to me, so we learn at the speed that you are the most comfortable with.
All I expect from you is to bring a pencil, a good attitude, and the willingness to practice and work hard in our lessons, and I will supply the rest! Looking forward to hearing your beautiful music or voice!
Begin with piano basics and advance to more complex material from simple melodies with block chords, broken chords and arpeggios to Pachelbel's Canon in D and Beethoven's Fur Elise. Learn finger agility by practicing the Major and minor scales in parallel and contrary motion. Begin with one octave and advance to a range of four octaves. Add dynamics and phrasing to perfect your performance.
I am a music educator, classically trained with an advanced performance degree. As a soloist and collaborative musician, I have performed professionally in ensembles, bands and orchestras both here and abroad. With a high degree of knowledge and proficiency, I teach proper technique and practice strategies, music notation, theory, rhythm and phrasing, while adapting teaching approaches to match the needs of each student. I share a love of music with my students and it gives me great pride to hear each student develop their own musical voice.

Wonderful approach to teaching a beginner.

Rina transformed a septuagenarn with very little vocal experience into a much more confident and capable vocalist...in only five 1hr lessons. I plan to continue with Rina because learning with her is fun and although I have learned a lot I want to absorb more of what she is capable of teaching me.
With the classical piano lessons, the beginners will work on music theory, note recognition, and counting rhythms. We will also work on beginner piano pieces.
Intermediate students will focus more on technique, fingering, advanced pieces using both hands, starting to memorize pieces.
Hi, I'm Bri! I'm a graduate of North Central College with a BA in Music (Emphasis in Composition and Percussion) and a minor in History. I absolutely love music, every single aspect of it. I love to make music a part of everybody's lives who want and need it. I want to help you with your musical needs. I have been playing percussion for 19 years, singing for 25, and playing piano for 20 years. I was a member of a recording and performing Chicago band, Oblio and Arrow, where I provided backing vocals and helped with the song arrangements. I am currently a member of Trip City Lights, an LA local funk/soul band, where I provide lead and backing vocals. I also record vocals for different artists hooks, jingles, choruses, and songs (covers and originals). I have also composed/arranged various pieces for ensembles, bands, vocal groups, choirs,
plays, musicals, commercials, etc. I've worked with folks locally in LA, and all over the world. I love what I do!
History has always fascinated me. The way our world has developed and changed and continues to evolve is amazing. Everything can be tied back to the past, and I feel it's important to take a look back, put yourself in that time, and really study how things were to help understand why things are the way they are now.
Crocheting and knitting are a couple of good habits/hobbies I picked up about 10 years ago. I sell scarves online and I'm always working on some sort of project. I will have you knitting and pearling with the best of them!
Music, history, crochet, and knitting....I'm your girl!
We learn the basics of technic, lesson songs, and theory using the classical approach. We have fun through music games, and special challenge assignments where my students earn rewards in various creative ways. This applies to all ages, particularly to the younger students.
I love music and teaching musical instruments to others so that they can enjoy music too! I enjoy teaching all ages and have 40 years of experience teaching my instruments.
I started playing violin at age 10 and within two years I was performing solos on stage. At age 14, I was invited to be guest soloist for community orchestras and the regional symphony. I liked being excused from school for these performances and by age 16, I was given a scholarship for early entrance to college. I had a violin performance major with a piano, viola, cello minor.
I teach to the individual needs of each student and we can go as fast or slow as we need to in the learning process. I teach various styles of music, such as classical, celtic, wedding songs, fiddling, and praise & worship.
In my career, besides teaching, I have played in the citywide symp
hony and some community orchestras. I have directed a community string orchestra and other musicals for children. I have ensemble experience with duets, trios, quartets and string ensembles, also.
I have traveled to 16 countries and taught music to students around the world in international schools and churches.
Join me in a fun and exciting time of focused learning.
Feel free to ask any questions you would like and I will get back with you! Miss Jennifer Underwood
I live teaching music. I specialize in teaching young children. Lessons are upbeat and fun with a mixture of traditional piano playing along with fun off the bench activities to instill a love of music that will last a lifetime.
My name is Kara. I have been teaching music for 8-9 years and I absolutely love what I do. I have been playing piano for 27 years and I also do arrangements for local churches on the side. I specialize in teaching very young children. There is no greater satisfaction than instilling a love of music in a child. My teaching methods are a mixture of traditional piano training and techniques and fun games and activities to ensure a firm grasp of the material. Children learn best through play and I use this philosophy in my teaching.
I have a passion for teaching beginning students so if this is your first time playing a musical instrument you're in the right spot. This is my 5th year teaching and while I've focused on teaching kids ages 4-13 I can teach any ages!
I have taught classical, pop, and jazz. I love all of them and can introduce you to them depending on where your interest is. I also branch out to other areas like songwriting, harmony, theory, and improvisation as well.
If you're a beginning student I like to have you try a little bit of everything but if I see a student drawn towards something I like to help them explore. :)
Also, my schedule is daytime only right now except friday nights. I'm trying to teach more online lessons so my availability during the evening should be increasing soon. :)
Okay! Bio time!
A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away....
I'm a pretty normal girl that loves music and art. Fun fact: I spent years and years studying music since I was 7 but I actually went to college for art and graphic design. I fell into teaching music by a friend who offered a position in her music studio and I fell in love with teaching from there.
I go out and perform shows (singing, playing guitar) and I still write songs too. I find that even though I'll never be Taylor Swift that music is so vital to expressing myself. I love helping others find their voice in music so they can have that same way of expressing themselves too!
Also, if you're interested I can show you all the paintings of dogs I've done. :D

I believe in developing well-rounded musicians, so I will help you study technique, sight reading, theory, ear training, composition, and anything else that may be interesting to you. I will also give you regular performance opportunities. Let's get started!
What if ... Your piano lessons could be fun ? What if ... your practice time is a time you look forward to? I have been teaching students of all ages piano and music theory for 10 years . I took private lessons 2 times a week year round for 14 years as a kid and adolescent, it was drudgery . I learned a lot but there was no joy ! When I decided to start teaching piano, I vowed that I would be the teacher I wish I had had.. If a student is choosing their own music, If lessons are taught with patience , kindness, a sense of humor and plenty of knowledge , a student can experience the wonder of music. Music transforms the soul it has the power to take us from where we are to where we want to be. Music is broad and deep it does require time and perserverance, it does not require angst ! I love to share what I know and watch students progress and grow into musicians versus just someone who plays an instrument !
I love teaching and playing the piano with joy and creativity. I took piano myself from first grade until Sophomore year in college. My instructors taught me a tremendous amount and I am thankful for what I know . But the years were long, I don't remember any laughter or any choices, teachers were harsh and unforgiving. Piano lessons don't have to be that way. If a student is not looking forward to a lesson then I am doing something wrong. Music and the process of learning should be a beautiful experience filled with wonder and fun along the way. I teach in the " classical" method as in you will learn about theory, how to read music , technique and performance etc. What is not " classical" about how I teach is this fundamental philosophy, the lesson is about the student, not about completing a preset agenda. . It's YOUR lesson, I guide
, I teach , I know when to push and when pull back a little. Music is like the ocean it is deep, broad and seemingly endless, therefore so are the possibilities . You will play the music YOU want to learn no two days or students are alike , no two lessons are alike. In 10 years of teaching, I have never been tired of my work, it is truly play !
"Never thought l could to be able to learn a Bach invention before. Now I’m playing it. Very enthusiastic teacher."
"Ryan has been teaching me classical piano for about a month now, and I couldn't be happier with his teaching style. I'm an intermediate student, who took
more than 20 years off, and had forgotten most of my theory lessons. Ryan is patient, professional, and very knowledgeable. Ryan makes it possible for my brain to actually understand theory.
I highly recommend Ryan. He's the type of piano teacher who is there to help and not just earn a paycheck.
Thank you, Ryan, for making it possible for me to like piano lessons again.

"Ms.Reiko taught our eight-year old son Carlos piano for over a year. She was enthusiastic, responsible, and totally focused on his continual improvement."
"My 6 y.o. daughter had lessons with Kseniya for 15 months before we relocated and she has learned a lot from her. From being a newly beginner to being abl
e to play arrangements of famous classical pieces and also some movie songs my daughter was interested to learn. Kseniya also taught her how to read the music and explained a lot of theory rules to her. And I could see , she really enjoyed the lessons for all these months - challenging but fun."
"Very helpful, patient, understanding, and friendly. Would definitely recommend taking her lessons and I look forward to continuing my own."
"Kristen took the time to evaluate where my son was at in his musical journey and immediately altered her teaching plan to fit his level of knowledge. I'm
very impressed with her style of teaching and hope to continue with her for a long time."
"We have had Victoria as our daughters’ piano teacher for 13 years now! We have gone through CM exams and many many recitals! We appreciate her patience
and encouragement and inspiration! Could not have gone this far without her!"
"My son started taking lessons with Ms. Sharon about four months ago. I was searching for a piano teacher with classical background because I know that cl
assical background is very important in basics of piano. I was looking for a serious teacher who was able to keep my son focused and learn well because I want piano to be a big part of my son. Sharon not only can keep my son, who is only 7, focused for 60 minutes, but he is truly enjoying his time with her. He loves taking lessons with her, enjoys practicing at home, and eager to go back to the lesson every week. I thought, at first, 60 minute lesson may be too long for 7 year old boy. However, Sharon keeps him interested, and he is learning basics of piano very well. I searched for a good piano teacher for almost a year, and I am very glad that we met Ms. Sharon."
"Jihye is perfect! Kind, patient and humorous. Great teacher!"
