We will focus on warmups and vocal comfort, working on vocalizing and expanding range development. We will talk about vowels and the importance of consonants and singing with clear cutoffs and good diction. Students will work on polishing songs of their choice and my choosing to develop skills and comfort with singing musical theatre repertoire. I will accompany lessons on piano.

I have been teaching voice for 17 years now. I have taught to students aged between 17 - 60 and also have worked with children aged between 4 - 14 and helped them get into children choruses in opera houses as well as preparing them later for conservatory auditions. As i am also a biodynamic breathwork trauma release system therapist , miyofascial energy release massage therapist and holding meditation workshops , i have a deeper understanding of body pressure , tension release . I also use human voice to release trauma combined with breathwork and use breath and bodywork to use voice as a whole instrument. Through these techniques i can also help you find a real connection with your heart center and work on your music through these techniques. Great singing comes from being the song itself , staying in the flow , releasing and freeing yourself with the air , while you are balanced in your body and in the spine. "Michelle is fantastic!! She led my 10-year old through her first ever singing lesson less than 3 months ago to nailing it on stage as Princess Fiona in Shrek this weekend. Michelle gave my daughter the skills, techniques and the confidence to do it, and her performance rocked the house. We are so grateful to have found Michelle, and have the opportunity to benefit from her boundless energy and passion for music!"

"I’ve spoken with many of my friends about my journey with voice lessons. Going to lessons with Diane felt like therapy. I learned so much and sounded so different within the 1st month. She broke down barriers with my voice that my 1st two teachers hadn’t done. She helped me find my voice, I miss those lessons everyday."

"I have been taking piano lessons and singing lessons from Amber for about a year. I have had big music dreams for most of my life, but have just recently found the courage to give it a try. I was an absolute beginner in singing and had a few months experience with the piano. In both aspects, Amber has completely changed my life. I am more confident in my skills, I enjoy practicing, and I am starting to see a HUGE difference in my vocals and piano from when I started.

Amber asks you to put in work in order to achieve your musical goals. Follow her advice, and I promise you will not be disappointed. Before you know it, you will have gained skills in sight-reading, in breath support, in playing through distraction, in singing and playing with correct form, and in building confidence in yourself and your abilities. I love Amber, and I would choose her again and again if I could."

"We love Amanda and Keith. They are energetic, enthusiastic, patient, and knowledgeable. We started lessons because of my daughter's interest in singing, and even at only 10, we've seen huge improvements in her presentation and performance since working with Amanda. It's been a blessing to watch her talents being developed in a caring environment."

"I absolutely loved working with Jameson. The greatest skill I gained from his lessons was confidence in my voice. I felt that he really wanted to get to know me, my voice, and my goals in singing. I primarily went to him for help on musical theater auditions, and after working with him, I began getting more callbacks. He coached me on my singing, as well as how to be more expressive in my singing. His energy and enthusiasm made me comfortable to try things like belting higher or attempting riffs, expanding my skills as a singer. In lessons, Jameson combines professional training and technique with personal tips, making each lesson more effective and memorable. His enthusiasm makes every lesson both fun and worthwhile. His critiques are always paired with genuine encouragement. For new or experienced singers, Jameson has valuable insight."

"Professionalism is the first word to come to mind regarding Michelle. I have had over a decade of music and voice lessons with various teachers. By far, Michelle is the most professional educator. Michelle understands that our voices are like any other instrument, and has a holistic approach to the health of the body and voice. With her guidance I am confident I will sing healthy and strong well into my senior years. Personality would be met second word for Michelle. She is very engaging and as excited about my progress as I am. She inspires the confidence that we can reach our goals and beyond. This has been time and money well spent."

"My lessons with Denise have been great. I took lessons under the intention of performance in musical theater, and in under five lessons she was able to get it professional-ready. By no means does that mean that I'm done with lessons though.

She teaches classical technique as the foundation and tells you specifically how your body function in order to produce sound, primarily using imagery to help you control functions that most people are not actively aware of. Lessons consist of exercises, explanations, and application to songs. She also answers questions and concerns over Skype, even responding to a practice video I sent to her.

Denise will help you reach your goals. If you are looking into singing seriously (and even if you're not), daily practice and preparation for the next lesson is essential to making progress and Denise wants to see you progress. If you are a newer singer, she works with you to build confidence in your voice as well as the technique. Like any good teacher, she can also tell when you haven't put in the work, but will still be patient and invested in the lesson.

Because my goal is musical theater, she helps me to expand my repertoire and work on songs that I bring in for auditions. She also reminds me to take into consideration other aspects of the performance such as dancing while singing and the long-term nature of performance, which makes certain aspects of technique especially important.

I am in my second month of lessons with her. I took 30 minute lessons, which go by very fast. Good for beginners just trying it out, but serious students should look into longer sessions. Skype is hardly an issue and is actually helpful because what she hears is closer to what you might sound like on a microphone. Denise is the kind of person who would go over the lesson time in order to finish an explanation so you leave with a good understanding of the content. Highly recommended for beginners (and advanced students I'm sure) and I look forward to our future lessons!"

Want to Someday Star On Broadway? 3 Tips from an Expert

Dreaming about someday starring on the Broadway stage? Here, Los Angeles, CA teacher Meredith P. shares her expert tips to help you get there...   As an audience member, you can sit back and relax at a Broadway show, and not truly understand the work that it takes to get to that coveted stage and the tremendous blood, sweat, and tears that go into each performance. As with athletes, the only thing the audience sees is the end result. A lot of times it can be intoxicating and glamor …
