My son has loved taking lessons with Linda. She is setting just the right pace with him. She is flexible given his strengths and weaknesses. He was genuinely disappointed when I told him he couldn't go to lessons this week because of a family commitment. Can't recommend highly enough!

very comfortable and satisfying first lesson.

Linda was great! As an adult beginner with the cello she made the lesson enjoyable and easy to follow. She adjusted quickly for where I knew a little and where I knew nothing. Highly recommend her!

Those who want to play viola are different- I love teaching people how to play this awesome instrument! The most important things in playing viola are intonation (since the viola often harmonizes with other instruments) and bow control, as that is the key to a good sound. You'll also learn rhythm and how to read music. Come learn the best instrument in the orchestra with me!
*Note: at this time I am only taking on intermediate students, as I can only teach lessons online at this time due to the pandemic. I would consider anyone who has been playing for at least 1 year to be intermediate level.

About Crystal

My name is Crystal and I've played viola for over 25 years. I can teach both violin and viola. I play professionally and just for fun. I have a bachelor's in music from Vanderbilt University where I studied with Kathryn Plummer. l love teaching people of all ages how to make music!

Currently, I am pursuing my Masters degree at the Eastman School of Music. I am originally from Taiwan, and recieved a Batchelor in Music from the National University of Singapore. I am an experienced teacher with students from beginner to advanced levels. In addition to the viola, I also teach violin, piano, and elementary school orchestra. Music is a language with which you can convey yourself without speaking. My teaching method begins with fundamentals including posture, pitches, and technique. Using those, we can start with whatever you would like to learn. Classical music, Pop music and everything in between.

Through lessons, you will not only learn how to play an instrument but also have the ability to listen to, appreciate, and understand all music in order to communicate with people. Wondering if lessons will be a good fit? it is ok. Feel free to ask for a trial lesson first!

About Mia

I am a recent Master of Music student studying at the Eastman School of Music and using Carl Backer, 1953 from Chimei Museum. I have won several prizes, including the Taiwan National Chamber Competition, Taipei Music Competition, and the National Music Competition. I am also a freelance of the

Panagiota did a wonderful job with my 11 year old daughter. She is a beginning violin student that wanted some extra help while school is out. We have signed up to take weekly lessons with her as my daughter was extremely happy with the lesson.

I started lessons with Panagiota as an adult with zero expectations. After completing a year of lessons with her, what I’ve been able to accomplish has far exceeded my expectations. Panagiota is always patient, kind, and encouraging. She always helps point out when I might be developing a bad habit or my timing is slightly off. I’m now learning second position and am on Suzuki Book 3. Panagiota is a phenomenal teacher and if you apply a strong work ethic, I say anything is possible under her tutelage :)
