I have a lot of experience with classical piano. I am adept at teaching music from the Baroque Period, Romantic Period and more!

About Elisa
I am a patient and creative pianist who loves music and loves teaching. I have been blessed with many varied musical experiences that has ultimately enhanced my skills as a musician and a piano instructor.
My musical training began at an early age, four years, which eventually led to a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of California, Riverside. Along with my classically-trained studies, I had the opportunity to travel to several countries to study the music of many cultures. This experience further enhanced my musical knowledge and musicianship skills.
I have studied and worked as a music therapist and a ballet music accompanist. Although I have enjoyed these and is grateful for these experiences, nothing can compare to my love of teaching piano. I have taught piano to adults and children, beginning skill levels through ad
vanced skill levels.
As you or your child's instructor, I will do my very best to cultivate a love and appreciation for music and the arts. I look forward to working with you.

I have been teaching piano for over 25 years. Each student is unique; so I customize the lessons and repertoire to suit each student, utilizing method books and/or different styles of music depending on the student's interest. I always include music theory, note comprehension, rhythm and practice tips. With Classical piano, more emphasis is placed on scales and finger strengthening exercises with Hanon.

About Amber
I am an experienced, enthusiastic music instructor, who started playing piano around 8 years of age and participated in many musical activities. I received my Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Massachusetts, majoring in Music Education (voice and piano). I have appeared around the world as a soloist singing jazz and pop, including the Blue Note, NYC, and appeared as a guest soloist at the 2000 Southern California Summer Special Olympics. I also participated in ensemble groups such as the Masterworks Chorale in NYC, and the Verdi Opera Chorus of Southern California; and currently I volunteer at the Senior Center leading/accompanying the Sing-Alongs.

Inspired by my love of music, I have been teaching piano and voice for over 25 years from NY to LA and now Orange County. In conjunction with my teaching skills, I have
excellent communication skills, patience and enthusiasm, and work well with children and all ages. I feel that music is an important part of education, and it aids in the development of cognitive and motor skills. And most of all, it is fun and rewarding, and a skill to last a lifetime!

I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Amber and working with her today. I was immediately put at ease - Amber made me feel welcome, accepted and was incredibly helpful to me today, as I am auditioning on Sunday to sing as a soloist at my church! I have great exercises to strengthen my diaphragm, and she gave really good instruction regarding how to get the correct sound for each voice range. I am looking forward to meeting with her again, and continuing my studies under Amber.

I have played a wide variety of repertoire in classical piano from Bach, to Beethoven to Frederic Kuhlau in recitals in the past six years. I also write music in classical piano and can help students mainly with technique and expressiveness when playing.

About Cody
With my two Bachelor's degrees in Music Composition and Technology, I began tutoring students in piano, voice, and composition as it was part of my training. I also have experience writing and editing essays, books, and more for several independent clients. I have experience writing my own books as well. I have written two so far, but am getting ready to write a third. I am a copious editor and can catch grammatical and other errors with ease. This is why tutoring in English would be great for me.
I thought I would add basic math for those school-aged children that are having a little trouble with it in their classes.
Usually, I teach lessons in my home in Diamond Bar or online, but if the need arises, I could surely work out coming to the students' homes for one-on-one tutoring help. With me, most students click after a few lessons and
understand what they couldn't in the classroom. I help the students by teaching in innovative ways that will catch their attention more than standard teaching methods. Students should consider me for I can make learning fun and never a chore!

*** Lesson Details ***
I use a wide variety of techniques to sing, play piano and other instruments. Techniques include straight vowel singing (no words) to test how long to hold notes, using color to help people sight read, using improvisational techniques in order to play jazz, rock, classical and many other styles of music.
I use what they student has under his or her belt as a starting point to see what lessons we could start them on.
I also assist with online lessons to make transportation a thing of the past. If you've got a webcam or Skype, I can do long-distance lessons with you! So, I am here to help!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Alesis Recital Keyboard
Music sheets
Web cam
Mac computer (MacBook Pro)
Finale music notation software to help in composition and theory lessons.

*** Travel Equipment ***
Music paper for away lessons.
Finale for composition and music theory lessons.
Can use macbook for more elaborate teaching or demonstration if need be.

*** Specialties ***
I do teach classical composition with specialties in ensemble and chamber music. I also specialize in songwriting for pop and other media.
I teach voice and vocal techniques of sacred choral and vocal music.
I teach classical and jazz piano and improvisation. I also have the distinction in being able to teach students with special needs or learning disabilities as I have a mild form of cerebral palsy and understand what students with special needs go through.

From a boarding arts secondary school to prestigious conservatories in both the US and Europe, I have honed my craft, and developed a love for sharing my passion with others. I studied with some of the best teachers in the world at Eastman, the Yale School of Music, the Paris Conservatoire, and the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, in addition to having attended some of the greatest festivals in the world to study with other great pianists and pedagogues. My lessons will consist of adaptive teaching. Depending on age, I will approach teaching in a manner to instill the knowledge for learning music notation along with the ability to play the piano. Beginners: Ages from 7-12 years old will start with basic fundamentals of music. This will be active lessons with learning both music notation and the piano until the student can apply both skills together. Any ages higher above 12, will be approach with a similar method of teaching if they are beginners. Music selection for the students can range from any sort of genre depending on the availability of sheet music. This way it can be taught with the appliance of music theory while learning their musicality. Age difference comes with different types of music. Which I believe effects all of us. So the best music to teach the students, is through that connection. However Classical teaching will be focused heavily, because I believe it's the foundation to playing music. My goal is to teach the ...

Ms. Cynthia has been working with my two kids (6 & 8) and me (age withheld) on a weekly basis for two months now and things are going very well. My children practice on their own with minimal prompting on my part.

My 8-year old, who had previously taken some introductory lessons with another instructor and quit, asked to have lessons with Ms. Cynthia after seeing me and my six-year-old take a few lessons with her. The change in my 8-year old has been dramatic, for whom learning piano has somehow gone from being a chore to something fun, and I give significant credit to Ms. Cynthia for that. We look forward to continuing to work with her.

I have been taking lessons for a month and can play several songs and know how to read some of the music. Great teacher, really dedicates her time to you for substantial growth

I am a performing pianist with years of experience. I teach students of all ages. My teaching includes most of the classical genre. I am able to travel locally. Lessons are adapted to the needs and abilities of each student. I intend to help build students develop good technique, sight reading, performing abilities, and a good ear so they can appreciate the beauty and benefits that study has to offer.

About Dean
Currently, I'm a Political Science and Music Major at the University of California, Riverside. I'm heavily involved in the music department and performance fills a major part of my schedule. I perform regularly in private and departmental settings. I've been a pianist since the age of 5. I had great instruction and after a while it paid off. By the time I was entering high school I started to develop a love and appreciation for the instrument. I found it fascinating; It was like having a whole orchestra at your fingertips. I all realized that all the virtuoso pieces were soon within my reach. I discovered that I could be a creator and an artist and make the music, instrument, and performer become one. It isn't all glory- It takes lots of frustration and tedious repetition, but it can be a meaningful part of a balanced life.
