About Mike

I have taught private guitar, piano, bass and drum lessons since the late 70s in Salt Lake City, where I majored in jazz guitar performance, and since 1980 in Los Angeles. I make the lessons fun. Mike taught Leo in person before the pandemic started and has been doing online lessons with him for the past eight months. He is amazing with both. Leo has a very short attention span, but a deep love for music. Mike has been able to hold Leo’s attention every week for over a year — even during online lessons. Leo has become an awesome little pianist, and has developed a love for the piano. It has given him the ability to express all of his feelings and has helped his attention span for his schoolwork. Mike has so much patience, and always inquires about Leo’s favorite activities. He is great with kids and makes them feel so comfortable. Leo loves his “booming voice” and the free play blues music they get to play together every lesson.

I decided to take lessons with Edwin for guitar because I had been trying to learn on my own but I just wasn't progressing fast enough. Edwin taught me things you just can't pick up unless you work one-on-one with a professional. He is always on time for our online lessons, friendly, and patient. Every week I felt like I was being challenged just a little bit more and picking up new things. I would recommend him to everyone I know in a heartbeat!

Edwin is a fantastic teacher and so patient. I am amazed at how much my son has learned in just a couple lessons.
David S.
Had an excellent initial discussion with my instructor, Edwin, today. It was big picture but at the same time Edwin’s comments & suggestions gave me confidence in his command of the art (engineering, arrangement, composition & structure, and playing techniques), all the things I’m going to need help with to take my musical projects to another level.

Although this was my first lesson with Brian, he is a perfect match for me. He has a gentle, docile personality, good humored and very patient. He's especially great with beginners, older students and special needs individuals. In close proximity so he didn't have to travel far. His teaching style, for me, is very effective and he's a very nice person.

Studying with Chris has been awesome. We started working together on music theory and since then he has helped me to better understand songwriting, live performance and sound production. I feel so much more confident in my abilities as a musician with the skills I’ve leaned from him. Chris is patient and very thorough. There were several moments when learning music theory that I felt I wasn’t picking it up fast enough and he continued to review the material with me until I understood it. Chris is very fluid in his teaching approach. He is able to shift from one topic to another based on what I am wanting to focus on in each lesson. My favorite part of working with his has been diving deep into my original songs and brainstorming ways to improve them. Chris always has tons of ideas to offer that are rooted in theory which makes them both practical and effective.
Julia Kwamya
Chris is a magnificent teacher. I had an elementary level of music theory when we started last year. Now I am able to hear music in ways that I simply could not before. As a teacher, he is patient and has a great sense of humor. I recommend studying with him if you are attempting to level up your musicianship skills.

"Greg has the ability to understand and know where any musician is at in their quest for knowledge about how to play their instruments with more confidence. He listens and is very intent on the students needs and not trying to overwhelm them with too much. Greg has helped me with a better understanding of how to play my bass better along with encouraging me to step out a little more to learn the whys and how comes we all wonder about music at times. He also enjoys learning from our own joirneys in music. I would recommend Greg to anyone, every time it is worth it. I have found new levels of playing the bass that i did not know that existed in me. He is just a great all around Christian man who loves to serve the Lord with those who God has put in his path."
