We have performed in Japan for our naval troops, Canada, Arizona, Las Vegas as well as many California Casin

I'm a fun teacher! I've been teaching guitar to all ages for over 30 years...group as well as private.
While I make the lessons fun, I also make them very informative. I am serious and passionate about teaching and I make sure that my students walk away from each lesson saying, "Wow, that was a cool lesson!"
Here is a description of the basic beginning courses I offer:
GUITAR FOR YOUNG BEGINNERS (Ages 5-8)
This course is designed to introduce younger students to the basics of guitar playing by incorporating an extensive repertoire of well-known children’s songs carefully graded into an easy-to-follow format that provides the right start to music education. Students will be introduced to playing both single note melodies and simplified chords, incorporating quarter, half and whole notes along with their equivalent rests. Students will be taught to read music and will be introduced to many basic musical terms. The material is presented with colorful illustrations throughout to stimulate and maintain young students’ interest.
BEGINNING GUITAR FOR KIDS, TEENS & ADULTS (Ages 9-adult)
Students will enjoy an easy to follow format that provides a solid music education while teaching students to play single note melodies. This course is for anyone “just learning how to play” acoustic and/or electric guitar. Lessons include tuning, first position melody playing and chords, rhythms through eighth notes, solos, ensembles, strumming and picking.
BEGINNING ROCK & BLUES GUITAR FOR TEENS & ADULTS Ages 12+
Students will enjoy a fun, easy to follow introduction to playing Rock & Blues guitar. This class covers essential basics based on rock, metal and blues styles including the 12 bar blues progression, basic rhythm patterns through eighth notes including the shuffle feel, open position chords, power chords, power chord extensions, rock & blues comping, minor and major pentatonic and blues scales, improvisation and song structure.
Unlike other beginning guitar courses that teach students to play songs like 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,' 'Jingle Bells' and 'This Old Man,' students are introduced to jamming on simple rhythm and lead patterns featuring cool riffs and licks that sound like BOSTON, METALLICA, GUNS N’ ROSES, STONE TEMPLE PILOTS, NIRVANA and TRADITIONAL & MODERN BLUES.
For students with more playing experience, we can design a lessons program to fit your needs to get you to the next level of musicianship.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Amps for bass and guitar, audio for teaching, guitars and bass guitars, teaching tools, music stands, cords, metronome, lounge for parents to sit during the lessons.
*** Specialties ***
I teach many genres of music to students of all levels. Young beginners from the age of 5, children, teens and adults (it’s NEVER too late to start). I work with many styles from the most basic folk to the heaviest of metal and just about all in between. Fingerstyle, Travis Picking, Classical, Early Rock n Roll, Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz, Country are just some of the styles I work with.
Theory and reading standard notation is very important for any beginning student to learn, especially children. As students progress in their playing ability, I add music based on their interests as well. I am a music teacher first and a guitar teacher second. I don’t just teach students how to play their favorite songs either, I teach the hows and the whys while we use the student’s favorite songs as a template.
In addition to that, when a student is ready, I also introduce how to improvise in each of the genres so that the student can create their own melodies and really make music.
I also welcome students that have a little or more experience as well. Perhaps you know a few chords and can play pretty well at the moment, but maybe you have “hit the ceiling”. I can help you reach the next level of musicianship.

Together we will explore reading sheet music as well as playing by ear. Students learn music theory and how to apply concepts to their favorite songs; this produces great improvisation and arrangements from students!
About Chris
I was born into a musical family and have studied classical piano since I was 4 years old! I am very well versed in music theory and proper technique, with an emphasis on avoiding player's injuries, as well as a great knowledge of classical Pieces for any skill level.
Alas!
As a young teenager I grew rebellious and learned how to play the electric guitar and have since sought teachers outside my family to learn modern styles and 5 other instruments!! I have also worked toward a music degree and have made music the center of my life.
Classical music is not everyone's passion but a good practice routine, attitude and environment is always a good thing to ha

Lessons are held with a fun and relaxed attitude. Learning music should always be enjoyable and a good attitude and love for music is cultured and encouraged.
Lessons are structured just like a practice session should be. We will begin with a warm-up exercise designed to acquaint you with the proper technique to meet your personal musical goals. the next activities are highly personalized, but is usually something like reading music or a music theory game. These activities are things that are good for you but may not be your favorite part of learning music. They will, however, go a long way toward your better understanding of how your favorite music is structured.
Examples could be learning about 12 bar blues, common strum patterns (for guitar), scales, sight-reading, or music analysis.
We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing an activity of your choice. This is usually a song but can be anything you wish to improve upon. this is usually a long-term goal of yours. *I've always wanted to learn......*
By structuring our lessons the same as how you will practice, and by keeping good notes, it will be easy for you to take on practice at home and achieve all of your musical goals!
*** Travel Equipment ***
Students should have their own guitar/piano/keyboard etc. Guitar/violin students should also have a music stand and tuner to keep at home. I will bring picks, spare tuner, music, and handouts.
*** Specialties ***
I primarily specialize in classical piano in styles such as Muzio Clementi and Frederic Chopin. I also play Bach and various Spanish classical guitar pieces. I have also extensively studied electric guitar in Blues such ZZ Top, Metal such as Metallica, and rock such as Led Zeppelin. I have also studied Irish and Celtic folk music for instruments such as Mandolin and Violin.

I've been teaching music for 15 yrs on guitar, piano, bass, cello and bass. My students have ranged from from 5yrs to 75yrs of age. I have seen many student go on to join orchestras, bands, broadway shows or simply continued their education to a university or college. Being able to read music profeciently has given me the opportunity to teach off many method books but like to use Alfred Method, Mel Bay and Frederick Noad Method books. I teach many styles ranging from classical, jazz & blues, rock, contemporary and pop. I do stress and recommend all my students to learn how to read music and usually by our second or third lesson they will playing simple songs. I am here to help you make music!
About OMAR

As a teacher I require all students to set time aside to practice. For without it, it is only wasting your time, your money and my time. I don't expect a total dedication to it but I do want to see some effort put into it. A little practice can go a long way and the more you do it, the faster you will progress and the more you will enjoy it. We will first start off with what you want out of music and the level you are at and go from there. Student can bring their own music either thru tabs, music sheet or just by ear but one thing I do expect is a student to learn how to read music notation. We will go thru the regular warm up exercises, material practiced during the week and any new music for the following week. Correct techniques in how to hold your instrument or voice procedures will be addressed. Music theory will also be part of the lesson as well as ear training. At the end of either 3 to 6 months you will have learned the basics of music and will be playing songs for you or someone else to enjoy. I will make it a total relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere but some dedication has to put on the students' part.
*** Studio Equipment ***
Dedicated music room, guitar both classical and electric, piano, cello, upright bass and electric bass guitar
*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide my own instrument. I can also provide music stand, small amplifier if needed and music material for the first few lesson until student provides for him/her self. Student must have own instrument.
*** Specialties ***
My way of teaching would have to be that they must learn how to read music while learning how to play an instrument.

It is my goal as a teacher to give you the tools to play music but more importantly to create music.
My Teaching Philosophy
Left Hand-
Scales and arpeggios our the bedrock of music. They are the foundation of everything harmonically and melodically. We will begin with learning our major, minor and pentatonic scales and corresponding arpeggios. Once we have an understanding of those we will delve into our modes and more “exotic” scales.
Right Hand-
The right hand is our time machine. It gives us the ability to play in time and with groove and feel. We will work on rhythmic studies string crossings and practicing with a metronome. Remembering music is harmony, Melody and rhythm working as one.
For those who are new to playing music the hardest thing for some to master is rhythm/time keeping. It is the black and white right or wrong of the music world. Often times our want to progress quickly is hampered by skipping over the basic building blocks of rhythm and ...

Open and individualized lessons will teach each student in a unique fashion to fit them best. Chords, theory and musical reading will be the main focus of these lessons. My individualized approach works well for many students so that they learn what they want, how they want, and see the results that they specifically are looking for.
Students can expect to learn anything from basic chords to advanced theory and improvisational techniques on their instrument.
Although bass guitar is a secondary instrument for me, I have always taken much enjoyment in playing and teaching it. I have been playing bass for nearly as long as guitar and feel that it is a very important instrument that could be just as rewarding to play as any other instrument. My mastery over bass comes more from my time spent as a guitarist, however I do understand many nuances behind playing bass and can instruct you confidently on the correct/required methods as far as this instrument is concerned.

I have been playing, teaching, and recording bass guitar for about 12 years now. I started out teaching jazz bass...and now play all forms of music with it.
About Joe
I take teaching seriously, but definitely try to make it enjoyable for the student. I studied classical guitar in college, but was playing everything from Van Halen to Jazz to Country & Blues before that. Currently, I'd consider myself a flat out musical mutt...enjoying anything and everything. The love of guitar has also expanded to a multitude of instruments that I record, gig, & teach with.

I have been playing the bass guitar for over 15 years in various bands and at school and I am currently working toward my teaching credential. I’m comfortable teaching students of all skill levels on the bass guitar whether they have just started or are looking to take their playing to the next level. Ideally, we will work to cover a variety of styles and techniques in our time together from rock to latin music. That being said, I will work to meet the needs of each of my students individually whether they would like to learn all there is to know about the theory of music, or if they are just interested in learning some of their favorite songs. Thank you for taking the time to view my profile and I look forward to working with you!
About Robert
Music is my greatest passion in life and I am so grateful to be able to get up every day and enjoy what I do. To instill that passion in others is what I hope to achieve during my lessons. I make a custom plan for every student based on their previous experience and their personal goals for our time together.
I currently play with both a funk/soul band and reggae band where I showcase my talents on the bass guitar. I have been playing with various bands for 15 years, but I always have room to improve. I hope to instill the idea that learning an instrument is a life long journey
