Trumpet Lessons in Bay Terraces. Amazing Teachers.

The most successful musicians are the ones who tell a story through making music. The secret to this success is a commitment to constant improvement and cultivating a strong musical voice. These are the cornerstones of my experience teaching and performing music. Throughout high school, college, and even beyond, I’ve sought out opportunities to share music and connect with audiences regardless of where I am. I believe music is something deeply personal and a gift that should be shared with others. Study with me and I will help you find your voice so you can share with the people in your life.

Able to teach basics like embouchure and beginner scales. Warm up and breathing techniques for optimal sound and playing techniques to start a good foundation for learning.

I can teach any level of trumpet playing. Classical, Jazz, funk.
Beginners or advanced players. I have studied trumpet with many of the best teachers in America, including John Haynie, Bert Truax, locally Gilbert Castellanos and Arturo Sandoval. The list is too long to name the all,but I have had opportunities to learn from many of the most famous players.

I will help you you build strong fundamentals and excellent habits. We will concentrate on your sound, tone, and pitch center. I will help you develop a daily routine that builds your skill set every time you play. I enjoy working with adult students and comeback players. I am more of a coach than a taskmaster. I am an active trumpeter and perform frequently with several ensembles.

I Have been teaching for 10 + years.Part of my daily focus is on relaxed breathing and generating a big beautiful tone for every note played. Long tones are something that I include in my daily regiment. Lots of dexterity exercises,range building, as well as endurance.

Another aspect of my daily regiment is improvisation. focusing on major/minor/ whole tone/diminished scales/ II-Vs in all keys and playing changes!

Lastly RESTING as MUCH as you PRACTICE is very IMPORTANT!

I like to meet students where they are in their musical journey and help them reach their goals. I let the student set their own pace for mastering new skills and work in the learning style that helps them obtain the most benefit from the lessons. I think leaning music should be fun and encouragement is key
